keep sliding the barrel/fore back... *important* - when you get this far, drop the bolt link or 'tongue' down so it rides the base of the reciever behind the trigger assembley... now back the two together until they mate ... the action could be open or closed at this point depending how the bolt was seated in the reciever ... it makes no difference ... now the gun should look like this ... stock/reciever and fore/barrel mated together... all you have to do now is screw on the forend cap. ** VOILA ** hope this helps ya'll ... can't get back to bed so bear with me here my Legacy is elsewhere so I'm showing my SBE .. same general set-up... you really don't need to remove the bolt handle ... shown are the 4 basic parts: stock/reciever, bolt, barrel and fore... attatch the fore to the barrel.. dump the bolt into the reciever top/barrel... mate the reciever/mag tube with the barrel/bolt and fore ... shimmy the reciever/mag tube into the fore keeping the two slightly parallel.... you're gonna have to wiggle it around slightly ... its not going to break ... HEY M1014 .... you still around?

Hi Joe - best bet is to find out how the gun patterns with different load/choke combos. This might take a little time and money but it's well worth it when your through. Start out with full (one slot ) and go larger from there. Not to get technical but, it depends on your targets/distances also. same goes with hunting ... too many variables to consider to honestly recomend any specific choke. click on this link Federal Cartridge and scroll down the page and you'll find a chart to start with. As for cleaning ... every time out if you want to keep her in tip-top condition. hope this helps

ok slick ... I've got this marker type applicator made by Birchwood Casey that I carry in my hunt box it's simple and not messy at all as some of the bottled products are. Price is between $5-$10. On the other hand OXPHO-BLUE CREME from Brownells is another product. I think it cost around $10-$15. You can hit the area (be precise) with a little piece of fine steel wool to ease the edges of the scratch but, dont rub the dickens out of it prior to application. You just want to *ease* the edges. Apply the product and rub it gently with the steel wool then apply once more and rub with a piece of flannel or fine cloth. Like I said it's really only a protection type of fix ... and expect just that ... protection. good luck lefty - hope this helps [ 06-30-2004, 11:56 AM: Message edited by: birddog ]

well my friend ... there's a few ways to protect it but let me check the product names first.. they're not too fresh in my mind.

lefty ... musta been thinkin' of the 20ga

Hope she treats you well MASTERBLASTER!! Have fun with it! good luck

LAZ- You made my point for me. ... I was refering to the NEW 2004 guns ... X-2 - 3"mag 12ga. .. 1100 - 28 & .410 Sporting (27" VR).. Browning Gold Evolve.. Beretta Tekneys Gold Sporting.. etc .... not last years models ... glad to see your standing besides your ignorance not too sure where anyone keyed "It's the best gun ever" but if they did, hey ... I'd laugh at that too! Just remember it's a different gun than the SBE. *-which has a pretty slight safety due to the 'oversized' pad they added for use with gloves in the Duck blind-* I had a problem with the SBEII at first sight ... thought it looked like an engineers and designers wet dream... But it's growng on me now. As you stated of your pre 2004 X-2 ..." I have a Super x-2 and love it but is a tad heavy.", Did you throw a fit about it to Winchester?? Super X-2 worst gun for 1999-20?? (whenever you bought it) cause it's too heavy?? I feel the same way.. at 8lbs. they're tanks and balanced like a water-balloon...To me, that's a pretty ignorant purchase. If you want a gun made to fit YOU and YOUR 'style' of shooting. You need to look into customizing and paying a bit after purchase to attain your personal features and likes. It will always be this way... that is why some people/companies are in business. I hate how triggers are soo narrow .. so i install a trigger pad to aid in makeing things a bit more comfortable... I also toss out the small front beads for a larger dia. and install a mid-rib bead ... again to aid in my personal comfort. Get a grip! [ 06-29-2004, 08:37 PM: Message edited by: birddog ]

well .. I'll bite on this one!! LAZ (and the rest) I'd really like to know how many of the new 2004 guns you've shot/operated in order to say such a rediculous statement. I'd love to here you're take on the new X-2's, 1100's, Super Sport, Evolve, Cynergy's, Citori's, Tekneys, and the hundred others I left out...??? I'm happy with how they operate ... I've shot three different guns to boot. Opinions are personal and MOST of the time justifiable but, to spread such BS on here is obsurd. I haven't read something so funny and laughable in a quite a while. Tell ya what ... do a comparison of them ALL to the new Charles Daily lines for me so we have a basis of understanding of WHERE you're coming from... As for the gun being useless in any hunting condition ... HA!!!!!!YOU'RE KILLING ME!!! That's a good one!! Probably the best joke I've heard in the past 6 months since someone on here keyed the 870 as a pile of junk. Guys get a grip!
-
yes it's possible Bubba Gump. As for the recoil reducer ... that's a personal opinion ... mine would be save the $$ for something else. adding nearly a pound of wieght to a gun in the butt-end makes little sense to me... but, that's my opinion.
-
BTW ---- I nearly had an L.E. at the register a few weeks back but that 'little bird' in my head told me the 220 service should come before it. oh - and i mis-printed my previous post ... should read " have 4 benelli's already ... 2 black ones .." duh [ 06-28-2004, 04:17 PM: Message edited by: birddog ]

hehe // you tricky bugger !! the top one is different. belongs to the auto regulating gas operated (ARGO) system which intails a different bolt head (M-4 series)... hmmm ... I think that's right..
-
better too tight than too loose guys .. gotta love precision! My black SBE's fore is still tight as a frogs rear but it sees little use so its expected. Tighter is better in my opinion 'cause I hate sloppy fitting parts held tight by a fastener... or in this case a magazine end cap.
-
Here are some general guidelines from Federal Cartridge When you get there - scroll down to view the chart patterning your gun is still the best way to find your optimum choke/shell combo for any game but, putting the shot where it's supposed to be is still your top priority. hope this helps
-
JK - first things first ... get on a bench with a steady platform then go from there. Each shell(slug)/gun combo is going to pattern differently so you want to test different loads first. installing a sighting system (ie., iron sights, red-dot, etc.. ) would be in your best interest also. good luck

I'm not a lefty so I have left mine alone but a few guys here on the forum have done it check-out the posts from 'top gun' click here LEFT HANDED SAFETY FOR NOVA

hey guys .. very nice indeed!! M1014 - just dumped money into the huntin' shack so the L.E. has to wait .. plus i don't have a clue what I'd use it for .. have four black Benelli's already. here's 2
