  2. Awesome pics Drundel .. getting colder up here .. had some snow flurries Friday evening ... highs lately have been in the low 50's high 40's .. should start pushin' more ducks your way. start lookin' for our Northern Woodies soon if you get 'em your way. Dove population pretty good your way? Heres birddog and 'devil dog' before an early morning Ruff hunt. [ 10-18-2004, 11:53 AM: Message edited by: birddog ]
  3. Hi sp0rt_Sh00ter - Have you tried Envirometals Original Hevi-Shot loads? .....?
  4. I hear that Fez ! .... I'm no welder but I built 6 LARGE platformed ladder stands out of galvanized 2" angle and open web corragated grateing last year for up at the shack. If you think you could do a good job on your welds and drill perpindicular holes though your tubing .... I'd say go for it! use stainless steel hardware of course for corosion resistance .. I wouldn't trust aluminum at all due to the sheer value... falling due to a broken bolt would suck! rough all surfaces/edges/welds using a circular/random motion then clean and prime with a zinc chromate primer... i think you know all this ..so i'll shut up now.... I'm not sure what model your buddy has but, if ya build one .. I'd build a platform too .. not the 'base' model. do it! ... let me know how it turns out!
  5. M1014 - No chance man .. I'm beyond repair!! It's you I need to call Brownells about ... 'Tin-Man' BTW ... boat is comin' along quite nice ... I'll have 'er turnin heads by ice-out. ... See ya ... " lil' buddy "

    M3 upgrades

I'm guessing you're refering to the pistol grip stock.? .. if so the M3 takes the M1 pistol grip stock- they're interchangeable. As for the side saddle, it should work fine. Benelli has a tactical light mounting system spec'd by Insight Technology Incorporated. It requires the instalation of the two-shot magazine extension I believe.. you may want to look into it a bit further to varify that. Otherwise you can do a search on the light system in the Benelli forum here and you'll find a whole bunch of light accessories that others have used and posted. The M1 reciever (M3) will accept machining for an optics mount no problem. ...and if you choose ... member M1014 would surely recomend purchasing the M4 .. guess which he'd say is best?? hope this helps in the least.. -birddog-
  7. Fez .. invest in a 'Tree Lounge' ... you will not regret it!!
  8. OK Guys and Gals. Seasons have started, Dogs have returned to work, decoys have been soaked, and birds have been flushed and empty hulls ejected .. Take a few minutes to post one or more pics ...heck as much as you want of this seasons experiences. Don't forget to give a desription of the hunt and of course ...your Benelli, Franchi, Stoeger, Uberti .... heck lets see your Beretta too. Don't be shy and good hunting to all. -Birddog-
  9. parts will vary if they ever fail at all but, just in case... www.brownells.com good luck

  12. LMAO .... yea i was clothed .... I think.... it musta been a dream ... never owned an e-collar. Fez ... THATA BOY!! ... a little taste of his own medicine ... I woulda been laughin' my fool tail off seein that !! H#LL, I'd pay good money for that entertainment!!
  13. Give'er a yank ... she'll come off... their supposed to.
  14. LMAO .... well that's not to say that I don't enjoy a fine bottle of Boones Farm ,,,, HAHAHAHAHA but the last time I used High Tack I ended up running down main street with a shell bag on my head an E-collar around my neck with the remote in my right hand and a retrieving bumper in the left ..... ...wasn't pretty but I got my picture in the paper..
  15. LMAO ... ok guys ... just a few questions here regarding this law suit stuff .. I haven't read every post because 5 pages of banter is too much for me .. Has anyone read any of the legal disclaimers that are present on the literature/website stating : "Data subject to modification without prior notice." -and- "Specifications subject to change without notice." ???? ---one or both are present in/on all materials including the manuals in regards to the Beretta Group..... they own Stoeger Publishing for pitty sake. The M1014 that was/is offered to John-Q-Public (civilian folk) is a modified version of the service weapon... As stated. .... as far as collectability goes ... 2500 units per year is "Limited Edition" for roughly 80% of the firearms manufacturers in this catagory. Just a few observations ..... M2 chokes

good advice thus far .. but, you may want to pattern your load/choke combos on paper so you know whats happening out there at point of impact.
  17. yea either that or your short cycling the action .. make sure you're pumping the action 'lock-to-lock' also.. short cycling when lettin'er eat can happen w/o knowing it until someone sees it or you stop doing it.
  18. All right! .... dport, thanx for finding that link!! I appreciate it very much!! I'll give it a try here tonight and get back with the results. many thanks! well M1014 I've poked, proded, pulled and pushed ... going to give this link a try and if it happens not to work ... I'm going to need an FFL to ship a few guns down to ya ,, ,, ,,
  19. Thanks M1014 ... I know .. this is pretty shameful !! but ... I'm getting over it real quick! here are some pics .... I'll replace them in the morning with others that are more helpful. I know they aren't explaining a whole lot ... So far Numrich's has been the only place thats been any help with a schematic they have recently placed on their site but, that's doing me as much good as a two peckered billy goat would.. tucker301 ... it just isn't happening. .. . ... ?? thnx bud for the help ... any more thoughts would be appreciated!!!! Time to clean Doves, a few Woodcock then over to my brothers to help with a couple of bow kills. Thanks again guys .!! pics to come in the morning.
  20. Ok guys .. I know this is slighty out of line here on our Forum and I'll probably get a little harassment but, I can take it. Have little to no experience with this gun as I recieved it a few years ago after my grandfathers passing .. I was told for years that this and others he owned were once to be mine but, the Sportsman58 holds greater sentimental value than the rest combined not because of value (it's the least valueable of all 6) but because this was the gun that was propped against the Duck blind walls when I'd travel to Northern Minnesota to sit along side him, watching and wondering if I'd too be doing this until the age of 91 with the same passion. I've sat and searched, toiled and swore a few blue streaks but, can't seem to figure out how in the world to remove the bolt from the reciever... thought about dynamite but, that sort of defeats the purpose... any help would be appreciated guys as I'm at wits end and just put 'er back in the cabinet until I cool down. And NO, its not going afield with me - won't replace any of my Berettas, Benellis or Franchis. Just want to get the filthy thing cleaned and peace of mind. Thanks guys. . . . . - birddog

    Nova Paint Jobs

Haven't seen/heard from the factory of the models spec. enhancements.....?? Probably a shop job.
  22. maggietheduckdog07 - let me guess ... her name is maggie ... the duckdog ... Time and Bonding ... #1 Second .. consistancy means EVERYTHING in what you do w/her ... especially when its work time and she's on the clock. ..and in order to have a duck dog ,...., you need ducks. Get her birds .. then more birds ... then throw in a few more ..birds. Other than that .... its all situational to the performance of the dog and the theory of training taken. -always end training on a good note ...if you have to take a few steps back then take a few steps back. ----All the advice you may recieve from various glue sniffers will most definately need to be ignored.... especially on the WEB. For these addicts have no comprehension of the exact behavior of your pup in ANY particular circumstance... and how she's reacted before it appeared.---- Of all things ... let her be a dog.

    M1 or M2 Field

only time will tell on the M1 being phased out .. but, I doubt it until they offer the M2 in a 20ga. Hey Benelli .... hint-hint.
  24. pretty much anything will do but, a good penetrating oil will probably work better to break the corrosion up.
  25. Great advice tucker301. Ditto.
