  1. one thing I truely hate to mention if I feel it caused a missed shot.. and you said it .. the dang safety. but, don't feel bad fez.. it musta happened 12x's to me last weekend Here's this evening victim .. 8 pt'r Fez .. just want ya to know the doors open here if you can get away from the wife for an extended weekend. have a few hours drive to get down to where I bird hunt in Iowa.. just a thought. 2. what ever ya do .... and what ever recipe you use .. remember 1 thing... Don't over cook 'em. (unless slow cooked of course) IMHO - #1 reason why people don't like waterfowl.
  3. yea .. I'm happy with both at this point. The new designs finally grew on me ,, just couldn't get around 'em at first. As for the Beretta I'm going to give it a whirl on the course this week so we'll see how it goes. I've had a std 28" Urika for a while but, as you know the Tekneys G-Sporting is set up a bit different... feels slightly better in hand and on shoulder for me. How many years have you had your G-Sporting Drundel? -- very true Fez .. happy as a pig in ,,,,, well you know..

  5. Was out at the shooting club last night and my sporting clays partner whom bought a Super Sport gave up on it. He could never get into a rythum with it I stepped in with a proposal of a trade and he bit. My 28" Legacy and extra 26" barrel for His 30" Super Sport and an extra 28" barrel. I feel sorta dirty about it but, he accepted it not like I held a gun to his head or anything.. The evening only got better! As I got back to the club from gathering up my Legacy for the exchange.. I overheard another guy wanting to rid himself of his new (only 5 course rounds through the gun) SPOTLESS!! 30" Beretta 391 Tekneys Gold Sporting with the 32" (trap) barrel. After talking, laughing and then writting a $1200.00 check (until I went to the bank today and pulled cash out) I got to thinking of the deals I had just ran into.. If it wasn't for my buddy throwing the towel in on the SS and the trade happening .. I'm betting I would've never walked by the other guys and stumbled upon the Beretta.. for once .. I was in the right place at the right time. twice in a night! ......too bad I couldn't score good enough on the course to justify buying a round ..

    Almost here

We nest, raise and feed 'em.. and you guys get to enjoy 'em.. Makes me warm inside knowing our monies donated to DU and Delta are appreciated by the southern population of Sportsmen. Thanks again to the WI DNR for their continued support of the Southern Sportsman.
  9. Welcome Oyster. you mad it to the right place for sure.. If you do a search on the Nova you will have plenty of reading, advice and opinions. the disassembly of the nova is pretty simple and with a little practice you'll be able to rip it apart clean it and reassemble in no time at all. had you bought the gun privately or from a dealer / shop?

    How many of you

have a smoothbore 20ga bolt action when the time and place calls for it. Winchester's 3/4oz rifled hollow points make it sting out to 100 yrds.
  11. you can do a search here in the Benelli forum or get yourself some strips of 3/4" velcro tape an apply it between the fore and barrel. done deal
  12. pardon Agent Smith ... One thing my father told me that has stuck with me is .. "If you want to get along with folks ... NEVER discuss religion or politics!" nothing personal.
  13. Rusty Knight - Two totally different guns .. fit and comfort should be your first concern.
  14. welcome Agent Smith .. kicker' back and enjoy the ride
  15. ^ bump^ things still looking good down by you ?.. .. just got back from South Dakota last night and most corn was still up but we got into the birds on adjacent lands and potholes.. once the corn and beans come down it'll be nuts for my next trip out there this month. This was our first Dove season here in WI and have had a good amount of spuratic shooting but, its mostly been in the prime hour of dusk and dawn. . . don't feel bad I've ground through the shells this year too. . . 7's, 7.5's and 8's out of a loose choke wasn't cuttin' it until I tightened up.. came home to a few flocks of lesser Canadians 3-400 birds I guess layed up in the marsh out by me. Looks as if the northerns are moving. keep on keepn' on

    how to stop rust

to late to save the metal if its pitted badly.. steel wool and having it re-blued.. this might not even work. Heck, have it camo dipped to cover it. in the future .. keep the exterior ( or better said 'ALL') metal surfaces oiled at all times or rubbed with a grease rag (exterior).. good luck
  22. * one other thing to note * 2-3/4" Hevi-Shot loads compared to 3" or 3-1/2" of other makes ... ... still no contest!
  23. lmao.. .. yea I get that a lot! now ... where are your hunting pics M1014???????
