  1. Flatlander - Do a search in the Benelli specific forum ... you will find a greater amount of feedback there. good luck
  2. first try hosing it down with oil and letting it sit over night then wipe clean and re-apply oil ... keep doing this until you get all of the rust colored brown gunk off then remember to oil the gun before and after use ... especially in wet conditions!!! I'd tear the gun down and saturate all metal parts and surfaces with oil doing the same thing as I stated above. Good Luck
  3. just jump off the Tom Knapp band wagon and look into other makers if your soo concerned about price! ... Tom's obviously at the point where they are paying him a pretty healthy fee (we're not talking a few hundred bucks here fella's) so you're paying for advertised endorsements of a 'world record holder' instead of the actual product and a reasonable profit mark-up.... to each their own tho ... some folks need that kinda stuff.
  4. yup too many can reek havok on livestock water supplies as well as grazing/pasture land...their worse than goats
  5. rdn- If you find the right people to do the work anything is possible - with-in certain parameters of course. just understand it comes at a price... a man's time isn't free. [ 09-14-2004, 09:18 AM: Message edited by: birddog ]
  6. I voted a definate 'YES'. The main reason I've not purchased the new M2 and SBEII - barrel length. still want to see both offered in a 20ga. design/frame too
  7. mature audiences ... huh - go figure .. rules me out
  8. you got it mudhen .... most of those folks are probably inexperienced and don't know any better .. as for the quality diffs - it's in the eye of the beholder... ... many see things differently and to get realistic about the subject is sometimes out of reach for some ... good post mudhen

    heavy shot

I'd stick with #4's unless you're getting deek shots. I use 6's too but that's usually on close smaller birds like teal and woodies .. .. not sure where to get the loads on-line. I buy 'em over the counter at a shop by the case. [ 09-11-2004, 05:49 PM: Message edited by: birddog ]
  13. we've done some serious damage the last few weeks to the locals ... hunted a few waterholes and picked wheat fields and have busted close to 50 birds so far ... have been taking first year hunters out and having a load of fun .. goose brats and jerky are on their way!!
  14. Bobng .. neoprenes are fine for hunting .... just have to remember to not bring a knife to a gun fight ..
  15. yes- you can hunt w/it ... just make sure the chamberings are ok with you ... some sporting models are only offered in 2-3/4" chambers and generally are built a bit 'tighter' in stock dimensions.
  16. you have a budget in mind fez???
  17. Taken from Benelli's ' FAQ's ' page ----------------------------------------------------------- Q: What choke should I use for slugs? A: A Cylinder choke is recommended for shooting rifled slugs in a smooth bore barrel. Sabot slugs should be shot through our fully-rifled slug barrels. -----------------------------------------------------------
  18. Cibor - go out to your local smith and see what he has on the shelf or what he can get ... iron sights are pretty personal and need to be matched correctly (height/distance apart) for the gun so bringing your gun in with you will help the smith out in determining/calculating a match.. good luck
  19. Go to Hevi-Shot ....not Remington's offerings of the shells .. directly to Hevishot... Start with the 2-3/4" offerings in #4 and go from there ... .. say no more.
  20. Alaskashooter- It should only take a few phone calls to find a reputable 'fitter' ... look at going to a few shops that specialise in the shooting sports and you should hit pay-dirt. good luck
  21. what's up with the knife?? .... put that thing away before ya cut yourself ....
