  1. Wow! Do you not even know which hunt it was? The BATF is probably your only means of doing that. Not sure if they'd do it unless the gun were recovered in a raid or used in a crime. They get the shipment information from the manufaturer. Then they contact the dealer who originally sold the gun. Then the dealer has to dig through his records from however many years ago and report back to them who bought it. If the gun was resold without paperwork (face-to-face intrastate), the chain of records is broken and it REALLY gets tough. ...and I'll bet you thought all of these gun transactions went into a database somewhere
  2. The big end goes to your shoulder and the end with hole in the end of the thing that looks like a piece of pipe goes towards something you don't like.
  3. No..... http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/partsAccessoriesPads.tpl
  4. Clean the bore with a good solvent Hoppes, Sweets, etc. Clean and lube the action and metal surfaces using a good CLP product like Breakfree or Hoppes Elite. Barrel break-in has been covered here before. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15022
  5. Here's a picture my hunting buddy took of me yesterday. I'm wearing US Army Surplus Woodland Green with a facemask and gloves.
  6. MANY makers use the plastic plugs now instead of steel plugs. The plastic ones will not rust and seize in place the way the old steel ones will, if not removed for several years. It's generally assumed that when someone removes them that they are doing so because they are going to mount optics. If you're a multi-use hunter and want to replug the holes, then it's up to you to get some kind of replacements if you want them. It's not necessary to fill the holes at all.
  7. Bitpim won't work with the Gleam. You have to use QPST for it. You need the USB drivers from S amsung, a USB cable, and the ringtones. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1252968&page=16&pp http://www.western-rivers.com/downloads.html I'll send you a copy of QPST. It's a bit tricky to find.
  8. Credit card? Gotta learn ways around that kind of stuff, my friend. Don't feed the beast. QPST or BitPim will let you load just about anything you want on there for ringtones. And you can turn on free WAP and other fun things
  9. You sure went to a lot of trouble to see those fellows. You DO realize they're on tv at least once a week? Sorry you didn't get or see a bird, but you did see some turkeys
  10. I hacked my S amsung Gleam so I could upload my own mp3 ringtones using QPST and a USB cable. I loaded a cackle for one friend's calls and a yelp for another's. It's working great, but I'm using up a heck of a lot of minutes calling them and saying, "call me back... quick!"
  11. You didn't hear? Yallknowho ran off with Whatsherface. They had a kid and named it WTF?
  12. They probably are blocking the V word in a feeble attempt to circumvent spammers posting cell phone ads here. How's that working out for you, webmangler? On top pf that, the URL's you spelled out were not right either. Solve both issues by getting a FREE account at Photobucket.com. Here are the photos, for those who still want to see them and haven't had to go to the hospital for treatment.

    Fair Price?

The mods have never complained about listings here, so that's a good start, but you need set a price rather than fishing around for one. You can look around on gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com, gunsamerica.com and see what comparable items are selling for there. If they can get your gun cheaper there, then there's not really any reason to buy it from you. I've never listed anything there, but I hear that this place is also a good spot to list guns. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/24hourauctions/ Pictures are always very helpful.
  14. The bottle reads... ANTIOSSIDANTE LUBRIFICANTE DETERGENTE These are Italian words, not English words. Translated they mean... Protectant Lubricant Cleaner There is no detergent in the classic English sense of the word.
  15. Use a damp cloth. If need be, use a mild detergent and then wipe again with a damp cloth. No solvents. No oils.
  16. You should try to learn to shoot left-handed, but it's not absolutely necessary for success. You will need to either close the dominant eye (not the best of choices for safety reasons) or use a sighting system to force the weak-side eye to be used. The standard factory sights may not be enough to accomplish this, but there are a number of aftermarket choice available. Something as simple as the Easy Hit sight will certainly do the trick, but you can also choose from a wide range of optics as well. Watch Tom Knapp explain how the Easy Hit sight works.
  17. Yes, but aren't they impressive?
  18. But it's quite another story when your motorcycle slams you into a turkey! Biker survives collision with turkey By SCOTT BROOKS New Hampshire Union Leader Staff A motorcyclist broke six ribs and a shoulder blade yesterday when a wild turkey flew into him, knocking him off his bike, according to police and the man's family. State police said the turkey flew of the woods and struck the biker, Frank Grimes, as he cruised up Route 12 in Westmoreland. Grimes, 62, of Keene, was flown by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, where he was listed in "satisfactory" condition last night. "From what he told me, that he remembers, he was hit on the right-hand side. He didn't know by what," said his daughter, Michelle Grimes, of West Lebanon. "He had no idea until somebody told him." Police said they suspected Grimes suffered a head injury in the crash. His daughter said she was concerned about that possibility. She was still waiting for a radiologist to see him last night. The turkey did not survive, according to Lu Farnsworth, who passed the bird on her way to work early yesterday afternoon. Farnsworth works at Mac's Market on Route 12 in Westmoreland. "He was big, and he was on the side of the road with his tail feathers out," Farnsworth said. "He was a good size. Probably 30 pounds." Grimes works for the city of Keene's water department, his daughter said. His title is backflow prevention director. Investigators said Grimes was heading north on Route 12, toward the village of Westmoreland. The turkey zoomed out from the woods to the west side of the road, they said. Grimes was reportedly conscious when the police arrived at the scene at 11:41 a.m. He was wearing a helmet, police said. Michelle Grimes said her father is an experienced rider. In addition to the helmet, she said, he was wearing gloves, boots and a motorcycle jacket. "We were surprised," she said, "because my dad's been riding motorcycles since he was 10." Turkeys rarely fly into traffic in New Hampshire, according to Ted Walski, a New Hampshire Fish and Game biologist who specializes in wild turkeys. It's been 33 years since the state stepped in to restore the wild turkey population, and Walski said he could remember just one accident in all that time: a 1999 crash that killed a motorcyclist on Route 9 in Nelson. Officials estimate there are more than 36,000 wild turkeys in New Hampshire. A typical adult hen weighs between 9 and 11 pounds, according to Walski. Adult male turkeys may weigh 17 to 20 pounds. They tend to fly slowly, Walski said. "I think most people are safe from the turkeys," he said. "Mostly, they're crossing the road on the ground. You might get a glancing blow on the bumper or something like that."
  19. Heavy rain, no. Light rain, showers, and drizzle can be productive. I like hunting after the rain, when the birds want to move around and get dried out.
  20. I don't use a turkey hunting vest.
  21. I see you got it figured out! Nice bird. Congrats!

Image tags from Photobucket work as well. They can be pasted directly inline without clicking the image icon.

Never had a problem with mine. You do need to give it a pretty good bump with the heel of your hand to lock in place, but that's pretty much normal.
