  1. Check your assembly against the parts diagram in the manual. Firmly tighten the magazine cap, but do not use pliers or other tools. Just hand tight. It shouldn't be moving hardly any at all.
  2. Several ammo manufacturers produce slug rounds for smoothbore shotguns and some are quite accurate. As slong as you use the Imp. Cylinder or Cylinder tube and the right ammo, there will be no ill-effects. http://www.nrapublications.org/tah/Slugs.asp
  3. Still too high. I have a Baikal MP-153 I'll trade you plus $100 cash.
  4. I made lunch.
  5. Hoppes Elite or Breakfree. Both are CLP's and work fine on Benellis.
  6. That's another topic we covered this morning. We've had a number of CS reps complaining of indigestion. They're saying that the flashing lights and tone reminders are bothering them and their stomachs are getting upset. They're also annoying the gunsmiths who are trying to concentrate on their poker hands. Good news for all.... A new person has been hired to head up the complaint department. Helen Waite starts next Tuesday! Starting Wednesday, there will be a new option on the automated phone system menu... "For complaints regarding your overpriced shotgun's performance, finish, or the website press 4 to go direct to Helen Waite."
  7. Matt, Why weren't you at the 10:00 o'clock meeting this morning? We talked about how we're going to raise prices next year by 8% and try to produce an even lower qulaity product. I think the new bent barrel SBEIII with the factory stuck choke tube in crumbly rust will be a huge success!
  8. I thought everything mudhen wrote, but I knew it would be pointless in posting it. A lot easier to simply suggest that you move on to another brand. Your response to his reply was pretty much as predicted. There's really no nice and effective way to tell people like you that they are clueless as to what they're doing. Cemetary catches a few each year, but many more just plunder on with little further notice or impact. www.mossberg.com
  9. I'd prefer that you get something else.
  10. Plain and simple, the Italian guns sight differently from what most of us are used to. I went from a Remngton 870 to the SBEII and missed a lot of birds before I got wise to this fact. Whereas most Americans like to cover the target with the barrel, the Europeans like to see the target fully visible above the bead. If you'll make the adjustment in your sight picture and give it some time, I think you'll find that you like the idea of being able to fully see the target when firing. My typical sight picture shows about half the rib with the top bead stacked over the middle bead, with the full target above the front bead.
  11. What seems to the issue? Thread depth, thread count, recess?
  12. Hope you brought a lunch.
  13. You'll also want to read this very informative post by our resident Alaskan game guru. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14472
  14. The basic design and principles remain unchanged. Breaking the firearm down and re-assembling is at great risk to a loss of zero. Can't be helped in this design model.
  15. Wakeman is a huge proponent of cheap firearms and the theme is common in many of his write-ups. That said, he makes some dcent points regarding pricing of the SBEII vs the Nova. It's hard to see where the additional money is in the gun, and one can only accept that they are paying not so much for what's there in parts and materials, but what the sum of those parts and materials can do.
  16. Let me just be the first to say, OUCH! Sorry, mate. Couldn't resist.
  17. To my knowledge, the manuals do not cover the removal of the plugs. The first time I encountered them instead of the old plug screws I figured it out pretty quickly, as I'm sure just about any experienced gun owner would. Problem is, not everyone is an experienced gun owner. Exhibit A
  18. Yes, they are hard rubber or plastic plugs. They pop out instead of unscrewing. I am amazed at how often this gets asked. Apparently, many new gun owners have no clue what they are or how to remove them.
  19. Assuming you mean the plugs and not studs, push them out from the inside using a small punch or similar tool.
  20. SX3. Goodbye.
  21. For close range stopping power, I'd go with 000 buck.
  22. Sorry. Jim Bean and I read it too quickly and thought you were looking for one

  24. Hopefully, they'll have you one by then. Did you check with any online sources? I've had very good experiences with Reeds in MN. http://www.reedssports.com/Category/main.taf?cat=1653
  25. NEVER give a dealer a down payment on an order without an agreed upon firm delivery date!... NEVER! Your order may work out well, but I've seen too many horror stories to risk it any other way. Most of my recent purchases have been through online retailers and dealers who did have the piece in hand and ready to ship. Your dealer has no clue how long the order will take, and now that he has your money, he really doesn't care. Yes, he should have offered you $30 off the in stock gun and gone that route. Yes, you will chip a cmoed fairly quickly if you use it at all. A bottle of touch-up camo paint is good to have around.
