Good thing you followed up, Skybroom. Sounds like the jerks at the UPS store were taking a wait and see approach to finding the rightful owner. I'll be they were hoping to never hear from you.

Two things similar that I've noticed on my SBEII: 1. The shell elevator will sometimes ever-so-slightly stick about 1/4" from being all the way in when loading shells. A little side to side movement with the shell tends to free it up. 2. When changing shells, make sure that the bolt is closed all the way by giving it a good forward assist shove with the palm of your hand. Simply allowing it slide back into the closed position isn't enough. If the bolt isn't fully closed, you can catch He|| getting another shell in the mag.

Yes. I did one in OD and brown and another in tri-color camo. http://tinyurl.com/5r478 http://tinyurl.com/6hrzf

Any chance of me getting her number? You're not that far from me, and I could sure use a half like her! PS: How's the yellowfin bite down that way?

The pretty stuff is here. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/worldclass.tpl

No. I don't even know IF they will be making one.

I wonder what they'd say if they saw this one? http://tinyurl.com/3wcx4

I've always had prompt responses to phone calls. I think they read e-mails when they're bored. Did you receive a yellow confirmation card in the mail?

That is interesting. The stock has the swivel hole, but I see no swivel in the end cap on the web photos. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/images/cordoba-12ga-synthetic-large.jpg Is this the new half-sling design?

Sell the SBE2 and buy the SS. The season of high demand for the SBE2 is over and dealers are looking to reduce inventories across the board. Trading will only p|ss you off.

Their new line for 2005 is out, and there is no LH Nova. The safety on the RH version is reversible, but it's not something a novice wants to tackle. In most cases, on a new gun, Benelli will reverse the safety for you at no cost.

Scott, I think you've answered your own question... or was it rhetorical? The Cordoba is a field gun, just as the SBEII is a field gun. Therefore, it only makes sense that the dimensions are close to each other. I consider the Cordoba as a bit of a cross-trainer weapon. Firstly, it's a hunter, but it can spend a day at the club without seeming like an outsider.

The SBE has been dropped from the line. The SBEII ComforTech and SBEII non-ComfoTech are available in Max4 HD and Advantage Timber camo. I agree, however, that shadowgrass would be a nice addition to the line.

I don't believe the barrel will fit. The Cordoba is longer from receiver to end cap (longer forearm). Extra barrels will probably be available, but may be slow to come out on a newer model like the Cordoba. You may be better off buying the SBEII and having an extra barrel ported by a third party.

I have it in 30-06, but there is some information worth sharing. After a few rounds, you'll notice that the barrell locking cap can be tightened another click or two. Mine is currently set at two clicks past the red index mark. Doing this improved my groups dramatically. I shot several brands of quality ammo before I settle on Remington Premier Accutip. But again, I'm shooting the 06, so your results will be vastly different. Another good tip from phenon101 was to install an o ring in the forearm locking screw to prevent it from working loose.

bigdady, In response to your threadjackings: 1. Yes. Someone does own a Stoeger Condor shotgun. 2. The Condor is a good gun for the money, but it's considered to be more an economy o/u. Franchi would be the best quality.

Is that still Jim Carmichael?

Don't know if it's chromed, but mine looks like a mirror.

Deerslayer, I think the difference for you would be your location. Around here, the Fall and early Spring woods and marshes are dominated by browns, greys, and yellows. I suspect you retain more greens down that far south.

Depends on the intended use(s). If you mostly hunt waterfowl, deer, turkey but occassionally shoot trap and skeet, then go with the SBEII. If you do a lot of high volume shooting, like trap, skeet, doves, etc., then get the Cordoba. [ 02-27-2005, 07:20 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
