What is it with you and O/U's? Go get one already!

I think it just shows that guns made for average build people won't work for everyone. I don't know you, so I don't know if you've got a particularly long face (John Kerry) or perhaps your cheeks are more filled out from eating all that squirrel? At any rate, your friend proved that it's not the gun. Do you know any good shotgun fitters? If you can't learn to adjust your aim to compensate, then the Benelli may not be the right gun for you. It happens. Completely off-topic, I'm truly pleased to see that there are still people out there who hunt squirrels with dogs. I was thinking that it was nearly a lost art. I assume that the dogs tree them and then you get them to make a move before making the shot?

We were goose hunting from a small island yesterday morning. The island is center river and downstream from the hydro plant, so it catches some floating debris on a regular basis. Whenever we hunt it, we try to pick up and cleanup whatever we see, just in an effort to keep the area clean and pristine for the wildlife. There was a small igloo cooler resting against a tree. It was old and faded and had obviously been in the elements for some time, so I was obliged to take it away when we finished our hunt. When I reached the cooler, I noticed that there was an empty oil bottle wedged into it, serving as a makeshift lid of sorts. Seeing that as something that was unlikely to have occurred by accident, dislodged the oil bottle to find a dead hen mallard inside. Now, it's been relatively warm around here, so this duck hasn't been there no more than one or two days. Our general duck season closed on January 24th, so this was obviously a poached hen. In review, some scumbag shot a hen out of season, and as if that wasn't bad enough, they then stuffed her into a cooler to hide their crime from prying eyes. It's not very likely that had any intentions of coming back for it.

But seriously, why not a combo? Barrel, bolt head, recoil spring... what else?
-
Cost? This is Benelli USA. We don't talk about prices here My second guess is a semi-automatic 12/20 combo gun. You get two bolt assemblies and two barrels. This one will satisfy the Benelli buyers who like to go to the range and shoot the girly loads, as well as the men.

After giving this considerable thought while goose hunting this week, I've come to the conclusion that the new Benelli will be a 6.5 lb 10 ga. that has the recoil of a Crossman 760.

Most Internet fantasies are.

NTSOS, She's a beauty! How's that extra 1.5 lbs. of battery affect the balance?

I'm not into all that GI Joe stuff with the shotguns, but if I were, I'd get my extensions from this guy. His attention to detail and quality are unparalleled.

It's a work in progress, but my intention is to solve several common problems with one package. 1. Since the M4 isn't a pump gun, I can't make that fierce racking sound that scares off the home invaders and some zombies. Therefore, the addition of the radio was essential. Tuning the radio to NPR lets the bad guys know that I'm serious about gun control and that they can rest assured that they will be killed with a fully registered gun and ballistically signed ammunition - after we share a cappuccino, of course. 2. Surefires are great, but their Achilles heel is in the batteries. Dead batteries = no light. Might as well mount a rotisserie chicken to the weapon and hope for the best! With my crank light, I have eliminated the need for batteries and all I have to do is give this thing a few brisk turns and I've got seconds of dim yellowish light. In fact, as these things catch on, I expect the cranking sound to replace the racking sound as the number one deterrent in a home invasion scenario.

It should be pretty much the same procedure as described here. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16591

Not to worry. He knows he can't go back to Texas after what happened last time. They'll be waiting for him at the border. And this time, they won't be wearing daisies in their bonnets!

Good price. Post some pics. It's a crying shame I already have one.

Well, sdkidaho, the ball is firmly back in your court now.

Find a gunsmith. And don't heat any part of your gun to 1000 degrees.

I use Hoppes Elite all the time. It's as good if not better than Breakfree.
-
See if you can find one like this. If I had cut a notch in this call for every turkey it has taken it would be a pile of sawdust. I use a glass call for volume and range, but when they get within 100 yards or so, I switch to this for the sweet talkin'. I can make sound like the hen is moving side to side or forward and back.

Ever hear of a fellow in CO by the name of Bill Springfield? He worked a factory DPMS trigger for me and it really turned out nice. I'm sure he could tweak a Benelli in a similar fashion. I could dig up his contact info if I needed to.
-
Well then it's a 12 for sure!
-
Perhaps Rifle Basix or Timney will step up.
-
Never heard of one. A good triggersmith can fix you up with some honing and stoning.
-
He should be ready to go by October! Great looking pup.

x?????????????? You left out the most important dimension.
