  1. I don't store guns in cases. I apply a light coat of CLP and place them in a humidity controlled space.
  2. That problem has been addressed. Sorry you missed it.
  3. There's a 26" camo NIB on gunbroker right now.
  4. Looks fine now. I'm falling in love with those Canada Goose dekes!
  5. He does things for that dog that you probably wouldn't be willing to do. As for the sweet sixteen, I believe there's already one headed my way, but I hope my Uncle takes his time in getting it to me.
  6. Looks pretty good. Did ole Dave ever get his website going so we can order from him?
  7. You can cross-check his DNA with the sample on file at Area 51... or with Ringling Brothers.

http://www.ar15.com ARFCOM Watch yourself over there. They have quite a bit of everything there.
  9. According to the information on the front page of the website, March 31, 2009.
  10. If the Monty sight is like the other Benellis, it simply unscrews as one unit. It may have some blue loctite on it, so a quick dip in boiling water may loosen it up and make twist easier.
  11. Monty, It's all very much tongue in cheek. sdkidaho and I have been buds for a long time. We both share a twisted sense of humor and we enjoy ribbing each other whenever we can. One of the pitfalls of they typed word is that no inflection comes through. We were just having fun, and we hope you were as well. I can't call "peace" because there was never a war
  12. Good advice given above. I've seen more than one person get taken for a ride with this sort of thing. Then they come back to the forum and want to know why the people who run the forums won't do anything about it. E-mail accounts mean nothing. Photobucket accounts mean nothing. Here's what I do before sending money for guns. Get a verifiable address and at least two phone numbers. One phone number should match a reverse lookup to the address given. If all that checks out, then it's time to trade picture ID's. Again, the name and address must match the information already given. If all that checks out, then you can begin to feel comfortable with each other. References will help, but keep in mind that it's also easy to go and find a reputable gunbroker account in the same state and give that as the reference. If the transaction doesn't occur through gunbroker, then you have no way to verify anything you're told. pizzadean, If you're legit, then you'll have no problem with these comments and advice. If you're not, they may bother you.
  13. I guess the crux of this one holding muster or not would lie in the definition of the word "infringed". Crazy bills get introduced all the time. As Duggan said, just keep an eye on them and make sure nothing gets by us. If it gets past Committee and goes to a vote, THEN we need to get busy writing and phoning our representatives.

    New SBE II??

Remove the barrel/upper receiver and take the bolt group out of the lower receiver. Then pull the bolt handle out. It comes out much easier that way.
  15. Yes, the extra weight matters. The weight reduces the amount of energy transferred to the recoil spring.
  16. ................
  17. I don't know what gives. I just know it's an easy fix.
  18. If you're not comfortable with it, then don't try it. It only needs to move very small amount. All you do is bend the tab so that the angle more appropriately engages the slot in the bottom of the bolt. The decision is yours.
  19. Looks like you were Googling while I was typing. EGW makes a fine product. I've used their rails on Savage rifles and they've performed well.
  20. Orion, I had the exact same problem early on with my LH SBEII. Simply remove the trigger group and then bend the tab slightly in the right direction using pliers or a small adjustable wrench. You can tape the pliers to keep them from marring the finish. Reassemble and check for proper fit.
  21. EGW makes your rail. SWFA sells it.
  22. That would make a dandy punt gun!
  23. I did a Remington 700 BDL years ago using Birchwood Casey's Tru Oil. If a chemical remover is used to strip the old finish, then you'll have to do some sanding because the chemicals will raise the grain. I applied 10 coats, with each one drying 24 hours. I applied the coats with my fingers to insure a thin and uniform application, and used Xtra fine steel wool between each coat. After the final coat had hardened for a couple days, I buffed the gloss down to a satin finish using a piece of burlap and then finished with some fine pumice powder, lemon oil, and an old piece of denim. I never liked the glossy factory finish on the BDL's, but back then all I could get in LH was the BDL. It turned out well.
  24. We'll need a Photoshopable image and proof of at least one turtle kill.
  25. He must not have seen the jab I took at him on the Montefeltro artwork Old sdk and I go way back. He now has one friend.
