i dont think there is enough difference in a 28" and 26" to be noticable really.what ever you get,you will grow accustom to as you shoot it.you talk to a man with a winchester w/24" and his is the best, talk to a man with a browning w/28" and his is the best, same with the man with a mossberg w/ 30" barrel. mine is a Charels Daly auto 12 w/ 28" & mod choke.i rarely change the choke. it seems to screw me up. and i have a Franchi AL-48 20ga auto w/26" i/c fixed that i like. i cant really pick what one i like the best.

this made very very curious. soooo i took my Franchi AL-48,20ga, and my cheapo Charles Daly, 12 ga. and i stripped them of all lubrication, with brake cleaner.thats right every nook and cranney. and then loaded them and shot them. heres the results of the test. iwas using 2 3/4 7/8oz # 7.5 in the Franchi 20ga.it would fire but would not cycle the emptys, without oiling the magazine tube where the barrel slides on it. ok the 12ga now. ammo: 2 3/4 1oz #7.5. the Charles Daly fired without fail, i ran 6 rounds through it, oiled her up and put her back in safe.i just love my " cheapo" shotgun.

you simply cannot be trained enough when your talking about a fire fight. the fear factor comes into play.training on a range you can score 100 out of 100. but when your target is shooting back it is a whole different story.

the typical crack head cant afford a gun, if he could , he would be robbing 7-11 instead of breaking in your home.

that exact thing happened to a man in utah. he heard a noise down stairs and went to hunt down his intruder.saw the man coming down the hall with a flashlight, and cut him down with a 12ga . come to find out it was a cop. apparently some one saw an intruder a called police, when they got there the intruder fled out the back door. police was at fault for not calling out when he entered. none the less that man is now doing 30years for capital murder. so go ahead and blast away. i repeat when you rack a shotgun in a dark room with your intruder in the light, he is N O T , i repeat NOT going to come hunt you down.and hes not likly to return to your nieghborhood at all.

if you liked the A-5, consider a franchi AL-48, its built almost identical to an A5, but only weighs about half as much, and they dont make leftys. sweetest gun i ve ever owned.

there are three basic types of home invasion. 1.the one thats cases out your house and waits for you to leave, then enters and cleans you out. 2. the quite burglar who does not want wake you.that most of the time are not armed. 3.and the ones who kick your door in ,while you sit watching tv. in which case will be armed to teeth, and more than prepared to use deadly force to gain thier goals. fact- unless you sit in your living room with a gun in your hand, pointed at the door, you are going to be at thier mercy.then you do as they say and pray to god they dont hurt your family.this has been happening a lot around the D/FW area. fiction-i know exactly what im going to in all cases. fact- no one knows what will happen, till it does. fact-having a plan of action IS a good idea. fact-staying put in the room your in, or retreating to the rear of your home is the best thing to do when you hear someone enter your home. gun in hand, 911 in the other. fact- keeping a light on in the living room, or end of the hall at the far end of your bedroom entrance, is a very good idea. this puts your intruder in the light, while keeping you in the dark. fact - racking a shot gun while in a total dark room is a good idea.if your intruder turns out to be your wife, kids or beer sucking brother in law they will call out that it is them.if not friendly, youll hear a lot of camotion with them tripping over all kinds of things trying to get the he** out of there.in the brother in law case go a head and shoot. fiction- the intruder is going to come hunt you down, after hearing you rack a shotgun. even an automatic makes a very distinctive sound in the dark. knowing your armed and likely calling police, he is also going to hide in your house and wait for the police. fiction- it is a good idea to try to hem in intruder so he cant escape. fact- an alarm sysem or security company is the best home defense money can buy. as well as steel door frames and metal or solid wood doors with double dead bolt locks. this alone is the #1 best defense against all type of intrusion.it is a proven fact that that less than 3% of homes with security systems are ever broken into and the person usualy flees when the sirens go off. fact - a weapon is good to have if all else fails, but should be used as a last resort. this is my out look on this subject. am intrested in other peoples veiws.

that might depend on the car, and fast you hit him. but i doubt you would come out of in too good a shape either.

i guess i need to clarify the fact that he was NOT thrown back as if hit by 55 gallon drum 3000 mph. like so many have been pictuing it in a poorly directed movie.when he was hit , he stumbled back a couple of steps before fully going down. the police measured it at 19' 10". as ive said ive got absolutly nothing to prove to any one here. as said i think it was as much the shock of the noise and being hit as the the impact itself. my point was it doesnt matter what you get shot with , its going to do some considerable damage at close range. and NO, no one should ever be proud to have to kill another human being.and anyone that really believes this is no better than the person whom broke into thier home in my way of thinking. that makes them killers & or murders who just need a valid excuss to kill so they wont be fighting for thier virtue in prison. and thats all i have to say on the entire subject. give that some thought.

all too often after a shooting, there is a hearing, or inqesition into the shooting. the judge asked me what my purpose for shooting the man was. i told him he was brandishing a weapon after forcebly entering my home. all i was trying to do was stop him. he asked me if i pursued the man in question. i told him know, i remained in my bedroom , while my wife was on the phone with 911. ive often wondered what the outcome would been if i had said, "iwas trying to blow his head off, and yes i hunted him down like a coyote hunting a rabbit".

when i was in my bedroom, after hearing my front door being kicked in. i could hear my freakin heart beating in my ears so loud , that i could barley hear anything else.

there are two things that intruders hate........dogs, and alarm systems. if they come in your home with all that , then shoot first ask questions later,because they are on some serious dope.

let some one shoot you with a 20ga shotgun, and see if you dont. i would imagine it was as much due to shock, as impact. ive got nothing to prove to any one, so i dont give a flying damn wetheryou believe me or not.

a flashlight is the last thing you want.you want a light at the end of your hall or in another room in away that puts them in the light and you in the dark.this way you can see your intruder ,but they cannot see you. and in factfew people will just start shooting in a house that they know nothing about after hearing a shotgun being racked.THEY LEAVE. if you want your home to be 100% safe, get an alarm system. save your the family the shear terror of getting up to see an intruder splattered all over your living room. believe me people. ive been there. my wife and kid is now haunted by every little creak they hear. i am sorry for the previos insults, but i feel very strongly about this issue. if your just kill happy, you shouldnt own a gun.

AMEN,take my word for it, its not something you want to do if you dont haveto. intruder or not its hard to live with.
