  1. ok, he is full of it. i think what your talking about is a Yildez.1000ft shotgun? thats highly not likely.if you want more range out of your s/g, use a tighter choke, and hotter shells. like heavy field loads 1 1/8 shot,or hi-velocity duck and pheasent 1 1/4 shot. and to set the record straight 1000ft is just 320 ft short of a 1/4 mile. if your friend is hitting birds from that distance is purely accidental.
  2. i killed a man in my house 2 years ago, with a 20ga franchi AL-48, w/ 26" barrel shooting field loads 7/8oz of 7 1/2 shot. it doesnt much matter what you shoot a man with at close range, any gun is deadly. i hope and pray you never have to. intruder or not, its very hard to live with.
  3. i dont have much experience with shotguns as far as slugs go, but ill take a shot in the dark, so to speak. i dont really think "brand name" is going to make much difference in the long range dept.i would think the longest "rifled" barrel you could find would produce the most accurate group.
  4. they wouldnt let her post the words she uses to describe me.
  5. is it new??all the new Charles Dalys ive shot kicked pretty good at first. mine got a lot smoother after it had around 2 cases of shells ran through it. so whats your opinion of how it shoots, other than the recoil??
  6. ive loaded up some shells for h/d. they are the eqiuvalant of a duck & pheasent load.12ga 3 3/4 drams, 1 1/4oz of steel bb,s. should pack a little more power than the 20 w/field loads.
  7. was not aware that aples was a dirty word. you try it, it wont let me spell out *****s correctly. ??????let me try again. *****s??????????
  8. yea yea, i know. *****s vs oranges.
  9. my 7mm can beat up your 18.5 smoothbore:p
  10. i have never seen so many dove hunters around ft, worth in my life. i think there are almost as many hunters as dove. due to working 14 hour days, i still havent got to go yet. by the time i get to there wont be any left.
  11. never were enemys. just people with different views.
  12. when the bullet exits the barrel would that be considered....ejaculation???
  13. yas sir. my Charles Daly[7 1/4lbs] 28" barrel with 3" mags stomps the crap outa me. i dont [ cant ] stand to shoot but 8 or 10 before a cry "freakin uncle". it kicks harder than my 7mm mag. but to tell you the truth my Franchi AL-48 20ga w/26"i/c barrel [5lbs10oz] with hi-velocity duck and pheasent loads kicks harder than the C/D does.
  14. my 2 cents. i prefer the long recoil guns, ie Franchi AL-48, Browning A-5.but a like the smoothness of the gas op guns a little better as far as comfort.my Charles Daly is a lot softer to shoot than the Franchi is. that AL-48 packs a whallop...on both ends.
  15. i have always used 30wt motor oil to lube my guns. it seems to work very well. in every thing from my 22s to my Draganov. what protects your cars engine? the friction of an automatic weapon, is very simular to that of an engine.just a few drops on the rails, bolt grooves, firing pin hole, and trigger assembly, and she works slicker than snot.
  16. there is always a period of adjustment with a new gun. you havent shot the new one as much as the old one. give yourself time to get used to it, and like stated above , take it out and pattern it. check both guns out on 2 seperate targets and compare. remember, guns are a lot like girls. what works on one, may not on another.
  17. me too. ive tryed 5 stand, thats a blast.i score 18-22 out of 25.
  18. i would sic my wife on him. 20 seconds of her , would send him screaming into the dark.
  19. they are fun to shoot, unless they are new. i hate new pump shotguns, they are stiffer than the tail on a scared cat:p
  20. i once thought i might have been wrong ............but i was mistaken.
  21. maybe he didnt know the difference:p maybe he thought beings the cylinder turns by it self, it was an automatic. dont sales people like that hack you off to no end?
  22. also i agree with Novaking, if you are going to hunt deer, get you a rifled barrel.rifled chokes are astep better than just a smooth bore, but not by a large margin. try rifled slugs , and sabots. let us know which is more accurate.in that rifled barrel.
