  1. everytime i see that pic, it gives me a pucker factor of about 10.
  2. here in texas they use a point system as limits. you are allowed 100 points. mud ducks are 10 points, drake mallards are 30 points, hen mallards are 90 points, and not that you would ever see one but, canvasbacks are 120 points. i love to hunt them but wont eat one at gun point. they taste like liver to me, and man i HATE liver. what i shoot i give to my mom, she loves em. she says to bake em in the oven like you would a small turkey.
  3. while recoil is an issue, sometimes its worth it.i love shooting my AL-48 Franchi 20ga. but it does kick the crap out of me. when i got my Charles Daly 12, it was kicking harder than the 20. but since i got it broke in ,it has softened up quite a bit. but i have shot no gun that is as much fun to shoot as my wifes 410 o/u. and i can bust just as many clays with it as i can my 12 or 20.
  4. it all ready has come to me. when i get something that works well and i like it, i dont sell it. i just seems to me like if they were satisfied with what they got it wouldnt be up for sale. think about that.
  5. it all ready has come to me. when i get something that works well and i like it, i dont sell it. i just seems to me like if they were satisfied with what they got it wouldnt be up for sale. granted winchesters and remingtons have been on the market for over a 100 years, it was just odd to see so many others on the market and so few franchis. dont get me wrong im not knocking any of them. i have been eyeing the new benelli feather wieght. just cant justify spending that much on 1 gun.
  6. i have found that hit as many clays with her 410 as i can with my 12.
  7. ive said this before, ill say it again. a typical home intruder is a dried up dope head hoping to steal grannys ssi check for some drugs. people make it sound like russia is invading your front yard with full auto weapons and kevlar vests. if you have to shoot an intruder , its only going to take one shot to stop him. whether your loaded with winchester AA #8s or 3 1/2mag 000 buckshot. your typical range of engagement is going to be less than 30'[feet]. if you fire a load of 00 or 000 in your house, those pellets can pass through interior walls of your home and possibly kill members of your family, or a neighbor.if this happens YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH INVOLINTARY MANSLAUGHTER, AND WRECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, intruder or not. the best advice ive ever been given was by a retired FBI agent. he told me to use a small cal hand gun with saftey bullets. they explode upon penatration leaving only fragments that will not pass through walls. if your going to use a shot gun, use a low velocity round, and small pellets. patterns are not an issue when you are talking about a range of 15- 20 feet.i my self am loaded with federal 2 3/4" heavy game loads #7 1/2. but to each his own.
  8. I was looking on Gunbroker.com tonight out sheer curiosity to see what shotguns were the most listed. what i found was interesting to say the least.this is what i found. Browning-7 pages, Benelli-7 pages, Charles Daly-4 pages, Remington-8 pages, Winchester-9 pages, Stoeger-only18 listings, Franchi-only 5 listings. Odd isnt it. so many expensive guns that are supposed to be so great, are for sale. i want to find a Franchi AL-48 12ga. and i cant find one . it seems that most people that have them are hanging on to them. i would think if all the others were that grand, there wouldnt be that many for sale.
  9. overall length is almost 60", with a 31" barrel. kick is that of a 25-06/270.
  10. first of all what are we talking about hunting? i use 7 1/2 for every thing, dove, quail, except ducks and turkey. i use #6 for quakers,#4 for goblers.
  11. just goes to show that sometimes your just paying for the name, thanks for the info.
  12. i would have to be the one that stuck that 20 ga shell in the barrel of the 12ga, and fire the thing with a string from 50yds away to even come close to believing that no damage would occur. im NOT calling you liar, so dont think that, but believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see!!
  13. i dont know what a barret weighs, but my Armalite 50 weighs 34lbs empty.
  14. yea you could drop a bull elephant with a 270.... provided you stuck the barrel in his ear!!
  15. in ft worth there is a gun shop ,Elk Castle, that will let you shoot a gun before you buy it. you might check around your area for one that will.
  16. here in texas we say "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaw. lock and load boys!!!!
  17. her C/D 20 weighs around 6 1/2 lbs, its chambered for 3". their gas operated. its really a good feeling gun in your hands. and they arent bad to look at either.black matte finish, black or camo synthetic stock and foregrip. did you check out the pics of mine??
  18. i have noticed dings inside just about every auto rifle and shotgun ive ever looked at. in fact when buying a used automatic, its a dead give away to how much its been used.
  19. oh yea, without any problem. a 50 bmg fires a full metal jacket bullet that weighs 650-800grs, @2700-3100fps. the thing is the bullet wouldnt mushroom,so im thinking you would still have to hit him in a vital area.
  20. the answer is NO. please replace that barrel at all cost, never atempt to fire it again. PLEASE take a hack saw and cut it up in little pieces. make the first cut right in front of the chamber, this will insure that no one finds it, and atempts to use it. remember, any time your firearm seems to misfire, CHECK THE BARREL.3 years ago i saw a man lose both eyes, and 2 fingers due to having an under wieghed charge in a 44mag. the first shot made no sound to speak of, but lodged the bullet in the barrel.i tryed to make it to him before he fired again but i did not make it. the pistol exploded in his hand, and several people near him were hurt as well. i dont mean to sound like a smart a**, but you should feel very , very lucky.
  21. maybe they figured that if there was no reply, no one knew the answer.
  22. did you look at how you spelled ...Benelli....&...dealer??
  23. dig this. i took the barrel of my al-48 off the other day and started putting water on the under side where it sits above the forestock. it took 4 days to start showing any signs of rust. am i bored or what??
  24. :Dnu-finish & a coat of clearcoat maybe?
