  1. if you shoot "rifled" slugs you dont need a rifled choke . you would need a rifled choke to shoot sabot slugs. sabots are hour glass shaped slugs with no riflings on them.riled slugs have the riflings on them to make it spin with contacting the smooth bore of your gun. and you can use that 28" barrel for everything under the sun. nice buy, by the way.
  2. i asked a guy at academy once to see a 17 HMR, he went to the high powered rifle section to look for one.heres a way to tell if they know there but from a hole in the ground. 1. ask them where the new brownings are made. was belgium, then japan, now belgium again. 2.do some ballistic research on the gun you want. ask them about velocity/energy. 3.if he starts telling you what you want , tell him fuh q, and walk away. i took my wife to academy to buy her a gun to practice with to get her concealed carry license with. the same guy is trying yo make us buy 45.i told him what i wanted to see, a 9mm, he scoffs at me.ok that pissed me off royaly.i hand my wife the 9mm told her to pull the slide back.she held it with her right hand and put her left on top of the slide, and pulled back, in a way that it was pointed at the customer next to her left side. when i told her not to do it that way,to hold out front, pointed at what would be down range. the ex "army ranger" said thats how i do it. i told him that if he were on a range around here and did that the range boss would likly remove him. if he did it with my on his left side, he would end up with my 44 in his face.
  3. recoil is about like a 243 or 270, the freakin thing wieghs 33lbs.
  4. ill say it again."i can admit when im wrong" can you? i was using E/S ammo because i didnt want to fully penatrate the intruder.just like i said BEFORE !

  6. not to piss anyone off but i think i would buy a Browning over a Benelli any day, if i were going to buy an expensive shotgun.ive had one of the old Belgian A-5, man that thing wieghed a ton. all steel, no aluminum there. i was looking at a Cynergy grade 6 "$4134.00" on gunbroker,[ pardon me while i wipe the drool off my chin ] and it looks just like a Mossberg silver reserve "$600.00". check em out. the only difference i can see is the forestock.
  7. im aware of how things work in the real world. maybe you have noticed i dont much take anybodys word. ive have done a lot of testing on handgun ammo, shotgun ammo, and choke tubes, as well as rifle ammo and ballistics. i didnt get my info off the computer.ive shot at NRA matches from age 6, im now 45.i went out and tryed a lot of different variations to get the answers myself. i didnt take someone elses word for it. and admit it or not, nothing is written in stone. there are too many variations. but i do try other peoples ideas. im looking forward to try out shooting the wet newspapers idea, if i ever get enough of them. idont pay attention to marketing and hype. if i see something that catches my eye, i try it out.admittedly, i shot a 2x6 with the extreme shock ammo, and it only went a 1/3 of the way into the board. the shooting of 2x6s was refered to me by MasterSeargent Terry Keys USMC. he said thats what United States Marine Corp uses to test thier ammo out on.[and taliban] he said a single 2x6 has close to the same density as the human sternum. if a bullet does not completely penatrate a 2x6, it will not penatrate the sternum either.FMJ 45 will penatrate 2, 2x6s. a lead or hollow point will not.
  8. you are right. by federal defenition a gun that fires more than one shot with a single pull of the trigger, does define it as a machinegun. i looked it up on www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/faq/index.htm but the penalty is up to 10yrs and a fine of up to $10,000.00 i refer you to title 26 U.S. code chapter 53. it also states that if you own a firearm without a serial#, you are supposed to obtain one from A.T.F. i was not aware of that either. i have several old guns that do not have serial #s. i can admit when im wrong. i also called A.T.F in Dallas again, and told him what i found.i told him of the issue at hand and he told me not to post his name, so i wont. i talked to a different agent that said there was a legal loop hole in that a "double barrel shotgun" would not fall under that catagory due to the fact that it does NOT fire one shot after another, and cant be altered to do so.but fires both barrels simultaneuosly with a single pull of the trigger, and it cannot be fired again with out reloading each barrel.if you could alter one to fire the left barrel then the right with a single pull of the trigger , might be a different issue. the fact is that it has two seperate barrels and two seperate chambers.an automatic shotgun with one barrel would be a whole different story.he brought it to my attention that no where in the laws, does it specify a double barrel shotgun of this type for that reason.he also stated that the likliness of anyone doing anything about it would be slim unless it was used in a crime.i told him of the link you posted and again he asked me if i noticed that it does not mention a shotgun of any type, but rather ar-15 and m-16s.in an ending statement he said, no one has ever went to jail for having a double barrel shotgun capable of firing both barrels.he even mentioned the old Greener double hammer 10ga. so if you just want to argue with someone, call the ATF, and argue with them about it!
  9. the best offense in my mind is a strong defense. i have to agree with Nikoli, a dog is the #1 defense against home invaders.alarms dont hurt anything either.
  10. i guess you missed the post were i said all doors are kept shut now too. you seem to be missing quite a bit for such an internet genius.
  11. this is strickley my opinion, but go with Cynergy. as for recoil, some people just arent affected by it as much others.i can shoot a 7mm mag all day. i have friends that wont shoot it but 3 or 4 times. good choice on the Cynergy.did you see any Citoris?
  12. i guess you missed the part..."WE LIVED in a trailer park"...huh???
  13. maybe i havent mentioned that i moved since that incident....oooh thats right i did , you didnt qoute that.
  14. :pi sure would like to have seen that guy fire his shotgun after using that whole bottle of oil, i bet that was funnny:p
  15. if you buy one checkout www.natchezss.com and www.sportsmansguide.com youll save your self a few$$
  16. well thats odd. me and three friends hunt dove every year with the parker county sheriff.one of the guys we hunt with has an old lefever double barrel shotgun that has 2 triggers. if you pull the rear trigger on it before you pull the front trigger, it fires both barrels. he has even shot it, and never made any commemt other than it kicks like a mule.i do know that federal laws are supposed to be NATION wide, but even federal laws vary from state to state. and before you make an arguement , think what states allow concealed carrying of a hand gun with a license and what states dont. these are also federal laws in conjunction with state laws.you can carry a concealed weapon on your person in texas with a CHL, as well as any other state that has the CHL law.if you dont have a CHL, its interstate transportation of a firearm. thousands of shotguns were made in earlier years that fired both barrels by pulling the rear trigger first. to name a few Lefever,Stevens, and Winchester. i did make mistake though, a Greener shotgun only has one trigger and two hammers. to fire both barrels, you simply pull back both hammers and let er rip. i did check with the state police in Dallas, and they said as long as the weapon came like that from the factory, it was not considered illegal.only if you converted it .but if you used it in an illegal manner it would be possible to charged as such.
  17. lmao, what i described was a double barrel shotgun that fires both barrels with one pull of the trigger. thats a far cry from a machine gun, and by the way there not illegal as long as the barrels are 18" or over.and prices i qouted is for Dragon Skin personal armor.
  18. the 870 wingmaster was the original. im not sure but i think the express is the 870 chambered for 3 1/2" shells.
  19. not to be argueing, but most of the Citoris ive priced are in the $1600.00 price range. but they are NICE! friend of mine got a beautiful Mossberg silver reserve o/u for $500.00.
  20. Sept 1st here. count down...10...9...8...7...
  21. just to throw in my 2 cents worth. you dont need to shoot rifled slugs through a rifled barrel.use rifled slugs in a smooth bore, and sabot slugs in a rifled barrel.you ll get a lot better group out of your rifled barrel with sabots.
  22. i have. the range i go to has metal rings mounted to a concrete wall that you can swing out and hang paper on. they spaced at 10',20',30',40',50'. results were....10ft=to the bottom of a coke can, 20ft=to a softball + or-, 30ft=to a soccer ball, 40ft=18"spread,50ft=34" spread. test ammo was cheap wally world Remington Express 3" 00 buck nitro magnum.$6,00 for 5rnds. theres no where in my house that i could get more than 20' shot.
