  1. try a lower velocity shell, with a little smaller shot.
  2. closed. with a small piece of saran wrap over the end of the barrel.
  3. yes the jacka**,s are real good at qouting statstics of how many people die due to gun violence. yet i would be willing to bet , that half of those figures are criminals commiting felonies, that have died at the hands of a business owner trying to protect the livelyhood of his family. or an everyday joe trying to prevent violence being bestowed upon his family or property that he has worked a lifetime to aqiure.lets hear about those stasics. and lets ask that witch if her secret service body gaurds are going to be the first people she disarms. they have never seen the likes of "gun" violence that they will see when they show up to take my guns. and god be with the first 10-15 at the door!!!
  4. sept 1 - oct 30 and dec 26 - jan 4 in texas:D
  5. i called a guy about a day lease out of the newspaper last weekend. i asked him if he had birds. you bet, he said $60.00 per day per gun.so we meet him at said location at 5:30am pay him he leaves. we sat there for 12 hrs and never even saw any birds. when we called him back he wouldnt answer the phone. i called him a few days later from my wifes phone. he answered and i asked him about lieing to us , he hung up. i had some other friends that leased land from people to find out later that they didnt even own it. they nearly got in some serious trouble.
  6. man, that leaving me with a bad visual. i work in the oilfield, i found some boots that i love. they are made by Keith. they have 10" uppers, water proof, composite toe,[ansi approved] makes them very light. 800grams of thinsulate.they are lace ups, but have a zipper on the sides for easy on and easy off. $49.00 @ wally world. i will be completly honest with you though. i wear them every day , i walk around in saltwater, mud, and oil. the first pair i had only lasted about 16 months. but i see a lot of my co-workers spending $140.00- 160.00 bucks on boots that last about 2yrs. i feel like im coming out ahead.
  7. ive never used decoys.i hunt stock ponds, we slip over the dyke and bust them as they are getting in flight. preferably after from over the water. 7.5s are just fine.
  8. an 870 or 500 in the hand, beats a benelli in the mail.
  9. to each his own. i will continue to clean my guns after every trip. if i go hunting and never fire a shot, i still wipe my gun off and run swab down the bore. my 7mm mag has the same group from the first five shots to 100 shots. i just feel better knowing thier clean.
  10. Franchi s make me drool. i want one of each one of em.
  11. my dad bought me a Hi Standard 410 pump, 26" full choke w/vent rib barrel when i was 12 yrs old. there were times after i got used to it that i would bag more doves than him w/ his 16ga. he never said it, but i think it kinda aggrevated him.
  12. if your going with a full, put it in second barrel for longer follow up shots. heck i use a benjiman/sheridan 177 pellet rifle for em. works great, its accurate up to about 100-150ft. and you dont have any pellets to chew on.
  13. FANTASTIC!!! i dont have any dogs, but i do have a 5 yr old black & white cat named Felix, and i would be very upset if was to come up missing. he is like one of our children.
  14. you know whats funny is the fact that i have searched the intire internet on the subject of longer barrels vs short. and for every 500 people you ask that says long out does short, you can find 500 more that says just the opposite.but i have been patterning shotguns for over 20yrs, so ill stand by my belief that a longer barrel has a little better range and pattern than a short one. right or wrong that is my belief.
  15. i may be wrong , and im sure i will be corrected if so. but i believe a "steadygrip" is a pistol like grip or tube forsay on the pump it self. the pistolgrip is behind the trigger gaurd. you have the right ideas fore the most part in every respect but one. if i may shed some light on an intrusion. 1. dont go looking for your intruder.this could very well give your own position away. 2.if you live in a 2 story house, keep a night light or other dim light on at the bottom of the stair case. 3. as soon as you suspect an intruder, call 911 and whisper "intruder in my home" and your address, then lay the phone down dont hang it up. 4. position yourself at the top of the stairs so that you can see the bottom. this way you are firing down at the intended target.not much chance of an innocent being killed, unless your brother in law lives in your basement. your looking into a lighted area, since he will be in it,he he will be some what blinded as to the darkness above. just some thoughts, happy hunting.
  16. we used a micrometer to check the difference in the two chokes. results ..............0.0003 thousands of an inch.not much difference.
  17. www.nwtf.org look for steve conovors posts on long range shotguns, and, long barrels vs short barrels. www.metrogun.com , yes chokes do differ. but ive yet to see a 24" barrel w/xtra full, out range a 30" barrel w/mod
  18. this is where the 'micro chip" is invalueable.is it possible that a nieghbor kid might have let him out to play with him, and he run off?? post lost posters everywhere w/pic if you can. good luck, i hope you find him!!
