O/U s are the big seller for skeet and trap.

when we lived in s.west texas we killed a lot of mule deer with a 22 mag.yes, its illegal, but hunger over powered legal morals.

i use an extra full choke, and 2 3/4" or 3" remington nitro magnums/ #6.

also, if you shoot skeet or trap, check the choke often, to make sure its not getting lose. as for chokes, iuse the i/c for opening day of dove season. you know slow/ low flying birds. modified after the 2nd week, birds fling 40mph/ at 40 ft up. and full on the last 2 weeks of the season. birds 80ft onthe air flying all out 70 mph.

i use motor oil on my guns. put it on and wipe the excess.someone on here once suggested car wax.

ive heard a lot of good things about this new ammo. its basiclly a hollow point with a plastic ballistic tip.

try several types of ammo, as well as different chokes at a range first,to see what combination gives you the pattern your looking for.

just make sure they are rifled. sabot slugs dont tend to work too well in a smooth bore gun, because they are smooth themselves.

at my house, because i have to work christmas eve and christmas day. we have it a little early. what i got: an over size gun case for my 7mm, several ammo belts, a set of 243, and 10mm dies,3 cases of various size primers,2-100cnt boxes 0f 7mm, 30 m-1,243, 44,, 357, 10mm jacketed bullets of various wieghts,100 rounds of brnd new brass cases for each caliber. a Texan 7 hole rotary press, and a pact automatic powder trickeler, and digital scale.and best of all...... an EAA Witness 10 mm. man that puppy is awesomly powerful. gee. i guess i should of gotten her something.:pjust kidding.

i have a 26" barrel on my franchi al-48,20ga. and a 28" barrel on the Charles Daly 12. and as far as cheap ammo goes, if it sucks , it only means i get to shoot my guns more, at the same target.

ive shot ammo from wal mart, academy,cabelas,higher than a cats a**,[ctd] as well as alpine range, a elk castle. ive never noticed any difference. i guess its a psycological thing, to pay $9.75 for a box of bird shot, vs $4.25 at w.m. i wish you could go dove hunting with me. not bragging, but i enillate birds w/ wally world ammo. my friends hate to go hunting with me. i limit out in less than an hour if the birds are flying.
