  1. Yes ... under a certain interpretation, it's all good. Under another, you need to replace parts. It's all grey, and it's all untested, unenforceable bullsh!t. If you're the paranoid type, replace some parts, or stay stock.
  2. So you're content with being obnoxious huh? If I was Kip I would cancel your order just for wasting my time ... if you're the guy calling every 7 minutes.
  3. 922r is a joke and this has been discussed to death. It's all a grey, unenforced area. If you're a scared nancy, get your part count down to 10 imported parts, or swap out for the "standard" stock, or leave your mag tube at 5 rds and get a collapsible. Or do anything you want short of making the gun NFA and you will be fine. There isn't a single case of 922r being enforced because it's an unenforceable law meant to deny gun owners their rights, and many people here are allowing it to happen. Put it this way, if you are EVER in a situation where 922r is going to be used against you, you have much bigger problems than 922r. I believe it would only be used if they were throwing the book at you for a much more serious offense, ie you shot up a school and they are looking for anything and everything. Do as you will, if you want to be 100% legal replace some parts.
  4. Glad to see the rabid fanboys haven't ran you off just yet Kip. I've told people to leave you alone, but some people just have to have what they want, RIGHT NOW! Best of luck with continued production and once again, thank you for taking up these relatively thankless endeavors. I hope it all works out as you plan and ends up being worth your time.
  5. Then you are obviously screwed. Center mass shots are much more common, as it's a larger target and thus what the enemy aims at.
  6. Get the camo supernova.
  7. "Remember, this is simply an adjustable cheekpiece for existing Benelli M1014 collapsing stocks. We have not yet committed to producing a collapsing stock for the Benelli M4." For what it's worth, Mesa is legendary for vaporware and never getting much of anything into actual production. I'd be utterly shocked if they had a full stock shipping within the next year. Heck, make that 2 years. Not to be a killjoy, but don't hold your breath.
  8. Why have any type of preps? Because the future is uncertain, and there are things you can do to tip the odds in your favor. I certainly wouldn't put SAPI plates up at a high priority for civilian ownership ... but if you're already all set on food, water, power, security, weapons, ammo, BOV etc it's just another option and advantage. I got a good deal on mine from a friend who got back from Iraq, so I said why not?
  9. Cash to waste? The whole premise of body armor is that you are spending money to prevent a bullet from entering your body and swiftly killing you. I'd say that if you are the type of buy body armor for personal protection in the first place, getting body armor actually capable of stopping something is far from a "waste of cash". Is your life worth a few extra hundred? Mine is. Granted, I've never used my SAPI plates in any type of shootout and hopefully never will, but it needed ... I have them. Body armor, imo, is one thing where you should do it right or not at all. If you're going to spend the money and wear around body armor for whatever reason, you might as well get something that is effective.
  10. http://www.bulletproofme.com/ Read. I have 2 lvl 4 SAPI plates. YMMV.
  11. The first M&P's out the door reportedly had a few minor issues that were corrected. But by and large, M&P's get rave reviews from just about everyone.
  12. For once we agree. I for one would be extremely cautious in replacing such a critical and high stress item as a gas piston. I can envision all types of scenarios where having a gas piston that is too hard or too soft, too brittle or too malleable would royal mess up operation of the gun, let alone the integrity of the entire gun. This is not to detract from the machinists intention nor those who wish to comply with silly old 922r, instead it is just a warning ... lots of testing went into benelli's own gas pistons, and even they got it wrong the first time, and it required a barrel port change because the pistons were screwing up the bolt carrier. My $.02
  13. I may have been a puppy, but you were and still are a b!tch
  14. Being OEM doesn't make it magical. If you can sell it for $300, good for you. No reason not to try for it. It's worth what the market will bear, as is true of anything.
  15. It would sell for probably $150. I bought and sold over a dozen of them on gunbroker back in the day, and I forget what I got for them ... $250 a piece maybe? I honestly don't remember. That was back before there were aftermarket alternatives ... let alone superior aftermarket alternatives. I can say with certainty that the OEM benelli full length tubes were the roughest and worst finished of all the tubes I dealt with. There is absolutely no reason to buy, let alone pay extra, in today's market full of alternatives. My $.02
  16. Pretty much. The T1 does everything the M4 does and is much smaller.
  17. Lets be serious. http://www.dixieslugs.com/products.html
  18. M1 / M4 like everyone else.
  19. I bought it at $7.99/50 round box for AE brass cased new production ... I think I'll be keeping it I even took a picture of one of my receipts ... Dick's had a sale that scanned wrong, it was supposed to be "buy one box of normally priced ammo get one box half off" but it scanned as "50% off everything, including sale items in the entire store". Over the week I cleaned them out of 6000 rds of UMC .45 at $7.99/box plus a whole bunch of other stuff before they caught on. I haven't shot a single round of that .45 I don't think, over a year later
  20. M1014 always has had a thing for pink.
  21. I don't have one yet, it's my next handgun to buy when I feel motived enough. I have almost 6k rounds of .45 and no weapon that shoots .45 ... so I feel obligated, even though I'm partial to 9mm for carrying. That said, I've shot half a dozen or so M&Ps and they are great guns ... pretty much universally agreed on. Even die hard 1911 guys like Larry Vickers and others like them. Also, they have probably the smoothest integration of a crimson trace laser sight of any gun, due to the modular grips ... I've never owned a gun with crimson trace, but if you buy a M&P you're kind of obligated to get the Crimson Trace if only because they work so flawlessly with the design.
  22. Are you allowed to carry? Probably not right? Then you can get full size guns. Glock 17 RTF2 for your 9mm platform. M&P 45 full size There are plenty of good options for both calibers, but those would be my choices for practical, durable, reliable, quality handguns if I could only choose two. Do yourself a huge favor and don't buy any 1911 variant.
  23. I shudder at the thought of installing this blasted contraption again. I had no vice, no instructions, no drift punches, no extra hands and nobody to ask for help because nobody else had it installed at the time. The thing ******* sucked total **** to install.
