    Short M4?

Yep. Look at the wood to the right of where the barrel ends ... obvious select / layer via copy / duplicate 10x / flatten image to drag the end of the barrel over, then a little smudging to get it flush. Whoever did that shoop either wasn't trying to hide the fact it was a shoop (likely, as the name of the picture IS "m4theory", so it was probably mocked up to spark conversation) or the person doing it was terrible. ETA - Here, I had to have some fun with this ... this is how it SHOULD be done if you're gonna shoop a picture. GENTLEMEN, presenting the DUGGANEXTREME mod, which is coming soon to a vaporware location near you.
  2. Replace front post with a tritium front post. You should get a new washer and the correct size wrench before attempting the install. People use Meprolights and Trijcons. I don't know what the consensus is on which is superior. Light mounting an on m4 remains to be an issue. You can either get one of the rail options, get a tube mounted clamp rail, or custom fab your own solution.
  3. 1) - Easy. Which is more important to you, having a sling or being able to resell your stock? If you do a good job on the sling install, you can always claim "professionally custom modded" and charge even more ... you're saving someone else the work of having to do it themselves! How courteous of you! 2) - I'm pretty sure it's just a polymer molding, and just about any drill bit will slice through polymer like butter ... it just might not be so good for the bit.
  4. They're only bad if you're trying to keep your bank account balance high.
  5. ...and if all factory finishes are this fragile, as the number of the threads complaining on this issue suggests ... he will be out of a gun for a few months, only to (best case scenario) receive a new finish on his gun that will likely wear just as fast and look just as bad after another season. I don't think you're going to find an answer that will make you happy going the OEM route. I personally don't understand why you'd care that much about the finish on camo hard use shotgun ... but then again, to each their own. If it really bothers you, I'd suggest sending it to a place that does aftermarket, much more durable finishes ... for the right price, they can make your gun look like whatever you want and it will be way more durable than the factory finish.
  6. Just don't use CLP. Use a good dedicated lube and it shouldn't evaporate, and if you leave the weapon horizontal it won't slowly drip down into the stock either. Lube points are pretty much the bolt carrier and the receiver rails ... that's where all the friction is. You want the bolt carrier to cycle as smoothly as possible ... this eliminates all types of problems with weak ammo, bad posture, you name it. A little lube on the sides of the bolt (not the face) wouldn't hurt either.
  7. I don't know what to tell you, other than that there have been many other people who have complained of the same issue. The factory camo finishes appear to just not be that durable, hate to say it ... I don't know what CS would tell you, if it's not a defective gun and all the finishes are that prone to wear, then I don't think you're "entitled" to anything. Caveat Emptor and all that. Best of luck.
  8. Yes, that's a pretty good price. I beleive the $200 rebate being offered works the same as any other rebate ... you send in the coupon you get with the gun and get a $200 check later on from Benelli. But that's just a complete educated guess on my part and should not be reproduced without the express written consent of the NFL.
  9. Yea ... that's a pretty awful idea.
  10. Take it from a guy who has had and sold 3 of them ... they are massively overrated, and not worth 1/3 the going price.
  11. Not so sure about all that.
  12. Explain, what exactly is this manufacturing defect you believe your finish has?
  13. Anything from Machine Gunners Lube to Mobil1 motor oil. There is a huge market ... it shouldn't be hard to find a dedicated gun oil.
  14. 1) - Some work dry, some don't. There is absolutely no reason to run it dry, as you are inviting all types of friction related problems. Just don't do it. 2) - You see reports on this board of people who buy a new M4, don't lube it, and can't even get through a mag without friction based stoppages. Do you really want to find out if your M4 is going to cycle dry when you have an intruder in your house and need your m4 the most? 3) - CLP is a pretty good preservative, mediocre cleaner and a pretty awful lube. Get a proper dedicated oil that holds up to heat and doesn't evaporate and leave your firearm bone dry like CLP does. There are tons of options out there ... I use Machine Gunners Lube. Lack of proper lubrication is one of the main causes of all m4 problems ... don't be a statistic.
  15. You've established yourself once again as an ethically sound businessman who is wise enough to look beyond short term profits and focus on long term reputation and growth. I am also pleased to see that you are taking my advice with regard to product launches. Best of luck with production Kip, I'm confident that whatever you bring to the market will be worth the wait.
  16. Nice. Isn't satisfaction such a great feeling? In other news, as soon as you said "hockey buddies" I knew you were Canadian, and glanced up at your location and sure enough, Ontario. Happy shooting.
  17. I'm sure NY is going to jump all over this.
  18. Indeed, I liked the fiber optics of the TA11 way too much though to pass it up. I posted a whole bunch more pics in the MRP thread ... you know where to look. Having a 1x and 3-4x optic at the same time is sick.
  19. Oh yea, forgot to post MRP dual optic pics.
  20. Yea ... I owned 3 eotechs, one set of battery terminals got real corroded (perhaps it was the batteries, not the eotech, but I have my doubts, as there are lots of reports of this), another one stopped getting any brighter than the stock "on" setting, lvl 6 or whatever ... both sent in and fixed. All of them ate batteries like no tomorrow ... I had 2 "N" battery models and one cr123 model ... all of them burned through batteries like absolute crazy, there is NO WAY I used those sights for the rated number of hours, they were leeching battery life like crazy when "off". I sold all 3 of them and bought an Aimpoint T1. I like it less ... I prefer the holograph of the eotech, but you can leave a T1 on for literally years at a time on one set of batteries, and they are absolutely bombproof in their construction. There are accounts all over more rifle oriented forums of eotechs going down during classes, in combat, on the job, etc. I just simply have lost faith in them, as have many others ... not to say that they can't redeem themselves, but until they make some major changes I would not suggest that anyone buys an eotech for a gun they plan on using seriously. That said, the ACOG + 1x optic is a super sweet combo ... check out my MRP

  22. The best? Aimpoint. No question. Modern aimpoints set the standard in 1x optics. I kind of prefer eotechs (the whole holograph thing is great imo) ... but they are an inferior product compared to an aimpoint, in terms of durability, battery life, reliability, etc ... That said, they are expensive, and all but the T1/H1 models are somewhat large for a shotgun. A Trijicon RMR is also worth looking at.
