  1. Hi guys! What's going on in this here thread!? Did someone start the trash talking party without me?
  2. thanks bro, might scoop this stock up if it stays low ... been meaning to get an extra stock to cut down.
  3. They are not nearly as good. However, due to the benelli's piss poor rail design, in this specific instance their cross bolt design has somewhat of an advantage. On a normal, proper rail, it's no comparison ... there is reason ARMS has lost most of it's business to ADM and LaRue.
  4. I may have to try this ... if you've put plenty of rounds through your gun without damaging the larue mounts, then perhaps the stubs are wide enough to properly support the larue mounts design without causing damage ...
  5. I see no warm guns, only stone cold $5000 paperweights.
  6. Instead of that, depending on what state he is in, he is likely to have to spend $20,000 defending himself against a manslaughter charge.
  7. To put it nicely ... I certainly would not want to be in the "early adapter" crowd on this one.
  8. Having a "trigger safety" means that you actually have to follow shooting fundamentals, IE keeping your finger the **** off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. I am consistently amazed how many people I see who do not follow this rule. Most ADs seem to come from improper draws and holstering, either from a shirt or something getting caught in the trigger guard, or from a finger being where it shouldnt be, which is 100% operator error. I don't doubt at all that glocks have the highest AD rate ... if you are a dumbass, you should not have a glock, no question about it. If you want to mexican carry with no holster, you should not have a glock. If you want to ignore any and all trigger discipline, you should not have a glock. The "trigger safety" assumes that the operator is going to be competent enough to follow the rest of the shooting rules in order that ADs are not an issue ... but obviously this is not the case with everyone, as there is bad technique and dangerous practices that are rampant in professional and unprofessional people alike. I do not claim and have never claimed to be a super trained operator commando elite scout sniper ... I am just am observant civilian that sees trends and patterns in life. The glock design is not dangerous ... improper usage of said design is what is dangerous. In fact, the glock has many safety features that are specifically incorporated to prevent ADs ... I would feel very comfortable throwing a loaded glock across a room ... would you be so comfortable with a 1911 or any hammer fired weapon? I think not. The old adage holds true ... it is a poor carpenter who blames his tools.
  9. Nice AI rifle there, 338 lapua ftw.
  10. The "trigger safety" does not cause any accidents, dumbass LEOs and civilians with improper training cause "accidents". With proper training and usage, coupled with a good holster, safetyless striker fired pistols are just as safe as any other pistol on the market, if not more so. Saying that a glock's lack of safety causes accidents is like saying that your keyboard made a spelling mistake.
  11. LOL I actually do plan to go either to MBA or law school path in the near future ... perhaps both if I feel super motivated and find $300,000 to blow. But no, I'd never get a job doing anything gun related ... I learned early on with computers and bar-tending that I am not the "if you do what you love you never work a day in your life" type. I get sick of things real quick if I am around them too much, and as such I've learned to keep my business and pleasure activities as separate entities ... at least most of the time. That said, I'd love to be a lobbyist for someone in the gun industry ... as that would leave enough separation between my job and hobbies that I likely would not get sick of things. And besides, who wouldn't love a chance to thrash anti-gun pussies in legal battles?
  12. Somewhat, also just been enjoying summer, my senior year of college started last week, lots of people around, work to be done, etc ... can't spend all my free time lecturing/advising/taunting people on forums all day.
  13. I never said I didn't like them. The simple fact of the matter is that they offer a terribly poor bang for the buck, and they have a higher percentage of failures and issues than many cheaper alternatives. They look cool, they are thin, they have nice triggers and they have the WW-II mystique to them, which I beleive is the main reason why 99% of 1911 owners have them. They feel it's a "mans gun" and it looks cool and grandpa carried one and killed nazis with it, so it must be the greatest gun ever. Downside is that good ones cost $3000+, and even then you are taking a gamble as far as reliability goes. To each their own ... personally, I'll stick with the higher capacity, lighter, more reliable, more durable Glock, XD, M&P or FNP that costs 1/6 the price of a good 1911. And no, Kimber's are not good 1911s, despite what their marketing team would have you beleive.
  14. "Tighter tolerances" are often the cause of many 1911 problems, just FYI. The advantage of a custom gun is hand fitting, not super tight fitting parts. Many a 1911 has been made unreliable by manufacturers trying to make the weapon 10x more accurate than the shooter is capable of. If I was forced to a buy a 1911, I'd want a loose one.
  15. Glock 19 (9mm) S&W M&P 340 (357 mag) next pistol will be a .45 ... probably an XD, FNP or M&P. If I was forced to get a 1911, it would be a Springfield for mid range or Wilson for high end.
  16. I am actually doing that right now. I will post detailed pics and a review when I am done.
  17. My m4 gets surface rust on it all the time if I use it and put it away without reoiling every few months. Not a big deal ... but it will rust, for sure. Then again, I've managed to rust literally every single gun I've ever owned ... even my glock developed surface rust on the slide, and it is supposed to NEVER rust pretty much. NY's humid air + keeping guns on the nightstand next to my window + 2 fans pulling humid air constantly through my room + working nights and thus having the cool damp air pour into my room when I'm up at 6 AM = I rust metal objects like a pro if I don't keep them well oiled.
  18. Machine Gunners lube for lubing the moving internal parts, breakfree CLP coated and dried on the external steel parts to prevent rust.
