    Yay!!

About time you lightweight. Red dot = faster than optics. Point shooting is faster than both, and it means you don't use the optics or the red dot ... but the optic is still nice to have if you feel like aiming. I've run both, and red dots on shotguns are nice. I have a T1 on my AR and may consider moving it to my m4 when a proper mounting rail comes out. Tucker sold all of his ARs. Tucker consistently makes fun of "tacticool" stuff. Tucker does not own an m4. Tucker proudly ran his mouth about voting for Obama. Tuckers opinion on m4s and their accessories is irrelevant, as IMO he is a perfect example of a Fudd and someone to not take seriously when it comes to "tacticool" matters such as these. ETA - Tucker also wears women's undergarments and speaks with a french lisp. Recoil is unchanged. Cheek weld is sometimes not as optimal, depending on how you hold the weapon and how far the stock is collapsed. As far as using a shotgun of questionable 100% legality in a HD situation ... my opinion is that survival > all, and the last thing on your mind as you're shooting at intruders is going to be whether or not the stock on your gun is the correct length to please the gun grabbers. If the stock works well and enables you to shoot better, use it. If you're truly afraid of the potential consequences, get rid of it ... no use training with a weapon you are afraid to use in self defense.
  2. Been single for a few months now. What gave me away?
  3. Did your "test" fall down after one slug?
  4. Absolutely.
  5. LOL sorry but that actually made me laugh out loud, no those are not the ports, but good guess! The ports are "holes" from the barrel (just past the chamber) into the gas piston housing ... you can see them if you use a light and look down your barrel.
  6. From what you've said here ... it seems like it's a matter of friction (needs more lube and/or break in, as the parts will wear into each other and get looser), or a matter of improper spring tension ... either in the mag tube or the recoil tube. I would remove both springs and check to see if they are within spec ... If they are, I would lube the **** out of the bolt carrier and the receiver rails it slides in, and see if there is still too much friction ... again, without being there to see and feel the way the BCG handles it is hard to diagnose and offer definite solutions to phantom problems ...
  7. This is not normal. If it won't even chamber certain rounds reliably then you have a serious problem from the sound of it, and this issue should be taken to benelli CS. Perhaps your BCG/lifter/bolt is somehow out of spec, or something is broken/loose and not causing things to happen as they should ... I've never, ever had a round that repeatedly would not cycle if I dropped the BCG from the rear. I am perplexed, and I'm rather interested in the outcome to your problem.
  8. I said to leave your gun with the bolt pulled back? Hmm ... that's how I leave my shotgun, but I don't know why I would say that would cure any cycling ailements ... however, lube absolutely is needed. Far too many people seem to be afraid of lube .... make that thing DRIP with some high quality, non-CLP lube, and I bet whatever problems you may or may not have at the initial shooting disappear after a few hundred rounds.
  9. You forgot to mention that the m4 does not require large amounts of cash to maintain, it remains useful and competent under stress, and it lets you strip it down whenever you feel like getting dirty.
  10. What state?
  11. That's a really good deal. Not as good a deal as the OMG LIMITED EDITION M1014s with non collapsible stock, 4 port barrel and 5 round tube being sold for the amazingly low price of $3200, but a good deal none the less.

    memorial day

I never really thought much about why memorial day to be honest ... I suppose I should.
  13. m4 - Absolutely. I've never shot an m3.
  14. Extra barrels are extremely hard to find right now. Your best bet is gunbroker probably, but it won't be cheap.
  15. Well played good sir

It's got dat platinum grill wit da gold front teef!
  19. We got married last summer in Hawaii No favorites here, I just didn't really see why you got offended over someone suggesting that a wrench could be loaned ... I don't see anywhere where he said "YOU MUST DO IT, YOU HAVE A MORAL OBLIGATION TO YOUR FELLOW NELLI SHOOTER, DO IT OR FACE SWIFT RETRIBUTIONNNNN!!1!!" So I threw in some drama pics. Sue me.
  20. In before the drama over a tiny wrench.
  21. Another possible explanation is that Sidearmor was unable to find a source for raw rail extrustions that did not have the center cut already milled into them. I know Kip, the guy who is designing the new replacement rail, had a heck of a time finding someone to source him with proper 1913 rail extrusions ... all the companies he went to were peddling the center cut garbage. I think Ms. Costa's email claims that they cut their own rails ... but I would be very doubtful that they cut 100% of the rail, I'd wager instead that they finish raw rail extrusions (with the center potentially already cut in) like most others in the industry ... at least from what I know.
  22. How many rounds total are through your gun? Some m4s (mine included) jam like crazy the first 100-200 rounds, and then are flawless for the remainder of their life. I don't know why. The "shelf" has nothing to do with what ammo is being used, the shelf is actually the lifter engagement tab thing ... it requires that the bolt carrier have a bit of inertia to have the power to ride over and trip the lifter engagement tab ... if you hand cycle slowly, you can set the bolt carrier on the lifter engagement tab and it will stay there until you jar the weapon, and then the bolt carrier will fall. The ARGO gas system was designed, as stated by benelli, to assure that the gun functions flawlessly when heavy night vision optics or other accessories are added to the gun. It's actually quite a beautiful system, extremely simple and reliable ... but yes, it is basically an upgraded inertia system, which is all it should be. The one weak point of the inertia system has been addressed by adding the dual gas pistons of the ARGO system. If you have a low round count, I would suggest shooting some more before making any determinations about your m4. Also, as stated, you cannot baby it when cycling ... if you try to slowly, gently cycle the action, it will hang up on 3 different points potentially ... slam it like it was meant to be slammed, I promise you, you will not hurt the m4.
  23. This seems to be a VERY hard concept for the manufacturers to grasp. From the email ... "We make all our rails to M1913 specifications." directly followed by "we make all our rails with a channel down the center" It's pure contradiction ... it's one or the other, both is not possible.
