  1. Just to cover all bases, are the shells factory loads or reloads?I know it seems trivial, but no stone can be left unturned!
  2. Spring will be here before you know it. What month does the Spring season start in Wa.?
  3. I'm really glad to hear that! It's about time some positive feedback is heard. Keep blasting, and have a blast!
  4. Turkeys are my #1 passion.Every new day is one that brings turkey hunting closer.Deer are getting the attention now,but the day after Christmas is when "The Machine" starts to really grind. You have found the right place to talk turkey!
  5. Honestly, after all the patterning sessions I took part in last season, and all the combinations tested, the tube I hunted with most was a $20 Primos Tightwad tube with the Hevi 13 #6's.It also shoots old school Remington Hevishot(pre Wingmaster HD),but that was in an M1,and a Supernova.Price doesn't always make something the best. The only hard part is finding stuff that fits the "new" Benelli threads(M2/SBE2)in economical categories.I wish you the best in your quest, because turkey hunters are part of a special brotherhood, and its important to share the wealth.Stay tuned,Spring will be here before you know it!
  6. Word. I only ask because in Jan. I'm taking part in a Test session that will include each size of IC tubes and various Benelli guns, along with many shot sizes and mfg.I am looking forward to getting some answers for me as well as anyone else with questions.I know that no setup is identical, but the resources are there to find a good starting point on someone else's dime.
  7. You can get the In. Creek tubes in whatever size you want.Direct from the factory. What shells did you shoot through your IC,Mudhen?Just Curious.
  8. I missed the part about the rifled barrel. Good eye!
  9. I think a large can of worms has just been opened......
  10. Nitro's are pimp fo' sho',but they hit your wallet just as hard.If money is no object, I'd invest in that set up. If you want something a little cheaper and easier to get your hands on,try some Hevi 13 #6's with an Indian Creek tube.I've had to do some home taxidermy before taking photos of birds shot at 35yds.Check out the 2006 NWTF still target shoot winners equipment,if you need more proof.
  11. $10 per hole is the going rate around here.Just as a refference point when comparing options! Later.
  12. Has anyone got any tales of woe or any rave reviews?
  13. Sorry man! If you didn't live so far away,we'd fire up the old milling machine and have a go! If all else fails, consider a Williams peep sight on the reciever. It only should take two small holes on the top of your reciever by a skilled gunsmith.Look at the reciever sight on the defense Remington 870 to get an idea of what I'm talking about. It has a large aperature that picks up the front sight fast for in your face buck bustin'! I put one on a 760 carbine and it rocks.I've seen them for $30.The M1 has a set of grooves that run up the middle of the reciever top,but that can be worked around. Good luck, whichever path you choose.
  14. I've fought the same problem with my turkey guns, trying to get the patterns to lift from the beard to the neck. The only way I was able to acomplish the desired result was to find sights that were closer to the barrel.I know it dosen't help you much in this instance, but when looking at sights, sometimes you have to use a combination of brands.Check out Dura-sight's fiber optics as well as Truglo, and Williams.A local gunsmith in your area may have some used ones in their parts bins that you could experiment with. Good luck,Bro B
  15. I love when that happens.I take note of their conversation with each other, and practice it with my mouth call once they are long gone.Mother nature is the best teacher, and I am always an eager student!
  16. A model 8 in .35? You just made me jealous! I always wanted to put on a plaid Woolrich jacket and Jones hat and hit the Northwoods with that set-up!
  17. Congrats on your birds. The bow will test what you are made of,I like the challenge, but I love the !BOOM! too much. Good luck
  18. What issues are you having? I'm sure you'll find help here.
  19. Where's Andy? He's the man with the plan in the UK.I'm sure he'll read this soon and come to the rescue!Stay tuned....
  20. It will be a long time before I ever get over that way, shooting wise.I just like having the oppertunity to get the "World" picture" from people living the dream and fighting the good fight all over the world.
  21. Andy, what is the availibility of places to shoot over there? Also, how accessable is hunting for the average person?I always wondered what the outdoor lifestyle was like there.
  22. I was just havin some fun with you. Those pics are really cool. That's going the extra mile to help someone.Keep it up!
  23. I'm using the new Remington Muzzleloader primers. They have a slower burn rate and don't create so much "Drama" in front of the plug.
  24. Also, make sure the barrel on your Stoeger is seated all the way back against the reciever, that would cause the primer to be a little farther away from the pin and cause a weak strike.Check inside the firing pin hole for debris that could retard the path of the pin and slow it down as well.
