  1. I've whittled things down a good bit myself. I own two Hodge MOD 2's (14.5 and an 11.5 that was a collab project), an M4 SBS, and a few pistols, some cooler than others. Also, a SNT 18.5" pump gun, because I need a beater, lol! I plan to buy another M4 SBS, but other than that I honestly want for nothing except a .300WM bolt gun for Alaska, etc. I'll likely snag a Ruger American with threaded barrel. I have a Surefire 762RC SOCOM that I need to find a host for, and that sounds like it. My Dad on the other hand, owns everything from a Calico .22 rifle to a C Sharps .45-70, to a Colt 6724, to a menagerie of very heavy bolt guns in various calibers. He is a collector not a shooter, though. Plop him at a bench and he's happy, more or less.
  2. It is extremely robust. https://www.aridusindustries.com/product-category/beretta1301/ The 1301 will cycle all things well, except LL, and it comes closer to cycling those than the M4, from what I have HEARD. I would believe it. That said, if you have a shell that will not quiiiettttte cycle your M4, but does the 1301, I'd say the margin is too slim to count on it, anyways. My test for cycling/function is to hold the weapon like a big pistol without locking my arm, and run it. If it will cycle through the mag and lock back, I consider it G2G. The 1301 is a great shotgun. It is, however, a hunting gun steered toward tactical use, and the elements of design when you take it apart show this. It will not run for as long as an M4, but it will run very very very very long, indeed!
  3. I'm somewhat practical. Yes I could have flipped it for money, but I also can flip stocks for money, too, with less hassle. I just have zero use for a .50 and it would fall under the "That's cool...but why?" for me, as it would add no more capability than I already have, in my AO. If I lived in NV or Montana or something where I really had some range, yes, absolutely!
  4. I had a chance back in 2014 or therabouts to buy an L82A1 with optic and 500rds for $7500 from a co-worker. Passed on it, and semi regret it.
  5. I find just holding it extended like a big pistol with my arm slightly bent it do fine. Arm is shock absorber. Pew pew pew!
  6. The flash doesn't affect recoil at all. It affects night vision, although minimally due to autogating and all that jazz. I have chronographed them at around 1100 fps or so, give or take. Benelli M4's don't really kick so much as they just twitch a little in your hands as they go through the firing sequence. This is Winchester Ranger 1325fps 9-pellet:
  7. It cycled them from day 1. All of my M4's have run those fine.
  8. I have become a huge fan of Federal's reduced recoil ammo. Mainly due to flash out of my SBS. You can see 3 full-power and 3 reduced recoil flite control 9 pellet rounds used in this video, and EASILY tell them apart.
  9. I've had the elusive Carrier Comp handles, and just use OEM. I prefer it.
  10. I used to work for a maintenance contractor who would key new work trucks minorly. Kept the employees from being weird about them.
  11. A lot of this barrel wizardry went out the window with things like Flite Control and Black Cloud, etc.
  12. @5:32, he hints at a new loading from Brenneke.
  13. Correct. And the sling attachment.
  14. This is why I use OEM Benelli handguards and let Tango Arms stipple them. I know they are made of an application-tested material, and I know they will fit correctly. The USMC tested the everloving hell out of the XM1014. I trust they got the handguard material dialed in.
  15. Ive had training that emphasizes both. Once you begin the engagement, however, none of the training Inhave received emphasizes losing track of your target: light stays on. Moving, you can modulate the switch fine, without compromising grip, at 10:30 in an IWC. Under the stress of firing both psychological and physical in the form of recoil, the light just needs to be left on. Again, once you engage, you do not willingly lose sight of the target. If i need to be super stealthy for some reason, I'll be using i2 and nevermind viz signatures.
  16. I have no issues with constant on. I turn it on. I shoot what needs shot. I turn it off. If I want to be more stealthy than that, I just eliminate all signature and use i2.
  17. I am getting around barrel shadow with a 14" barrel and the M600V. It has ever so SLIGHT a shadow, but shouldn't mess with my i2 any.
  18. Nothing is going to beat stippling except some of the gucci grit impregnated stipple jobs. This stuff feels like each ridge of your prints is tightly shaking hands. I wasnt really super into it even looking at it, but install them and hold the weapon? Its like a lightbulb coming on.
  19. My issue is that the handguards must be removed to field strip, it then takes tools, etc. So you aren't going to RTZ any lasers, and it's an extra pain to deal with. No and no thanks.
  20. Supposedly LE133 was developed to get rid of the "9th pellet flier". I personally have NEVER seen this flier in any of my Benelli guns, but supposedly "it exists". I would buy some of each, and see if LE132 throws wider patterns or fliers for you. If not, then I'd choose it because...extra wound channel.
  21. While these look nice, I have a very strong preference for the current Tango Arms.
  22. For an actual M1014 fixed choke MOD? I'd experiment with buckshot. The LE13200 is good stuff. Truball slugs and Hydrashok slugs (LE127RS and LEF127RS). I prefer low recoil everything, because by 100 yards, LR vs FP slugs have less than 100fps difference between them. So...I just don't bother with the noise and flash and recoil. Here is a demonstration of full power vs reduced recoil buckshot at night from my 14" SBS...
  23. CYL
  24. Benelli bore IDs are 0.728" nominal for cyl. This is a hair narrow as is. Any choke at all, and it strips the FC wad from the shot charge very early, resulting in large or erratic patterns. This is why mossberg and other larger nominal bore gauges can throw stoopid tight patterns with FC buckshot. Ive shot basketball sized 40+ yard patterns with a 590a1, for example.
  25. Get the sbs. Its a fixed cyl. The fixed m1014 mod is good, but it does not play near as well with LE132 and LE133 loadings as a cyl. Form 1 is running 3 weeks on E file.
