  1. I just got the bore snake, EEZOX or Breakfree CLP (both are cleaner, lubs, and protectants), and a rag. I'm more impressed with EEZOX, but Breakfree comes in second. The first is NON flammable, but Breakfree is flammable. Literally that's all you need. Maybe a small set of swabs for the nooks and crannies. NEVER oil the gas parts. They are dry. Oil attracts gunk in that particular location where it receives the hot gasses and crud, you don't want build up there. As an aside here's the link to independent tests of cleaners..... http://www.thegunzone.com/rust.html
  2. Can anyone provide instructions on how to remove the extractor from the bolt head? Pic very welcome.
  3. They have them everywhere on the shelf in many Socal stores for about $1500.
  4. In this regard, I must say to check all screws and attachments post shooting till it all settles in. My mag tube loosened and the my magazine clamp, which is there for badassness loosened as well.
  5. Holy friggin Hail! I would just replace it out. It's already weakened. No use exposing yoursef to harm or failure when you really need the gun to work. You're just having a bad time with the B. I was talking with Hans Vang, at his shotgun modification company, Vang Comp. At the time I had both the B and a Rem 870 and wanted porting on both. He refused to do the Benelli because he said the barrel walls were too thin for him to comfortably port. They used to sell an aftermarket thicker wall barrel exclusively for that but the cost was prohibitive for me. Later demand to do such was too low and they dropped it.
  6. Yes you can. It's all easy to install. If the four is like the 6 shot I have, all you do is remove the Benelli Rail and put the Mesa one on.
  7. There may be cheaper ways, but I wouldn't try them for several reasons: 1. Established reputation and real world performance of Surefire. 2. Parts availability. 3.Systematically tested with actual test equipment. 4. Modular system with interchangeable rails, bulbs, switches, etc. etc.
  8. Look up Rifles Only. Despite the name, they train sharpshooting, defensive handgun and shotgun. Open to LE and Civy. Multiday courses.
  9. It was wedged in a crevice. It took a screwdriver to pry it out, then, once assembled correctly, worked perfectly.

    stock M4 choke?

It has 3 dots on the edge of it.
  11. How do you remove the buttstock? There is a nut, which I removed, then some sort of flange that won't move at all.

    stock M4 choke?

What is the choke that comes stock with the M4? Can it be firec w/o the choke tube in place, safely, w/o destroying or harming the choke threads?
  13. I just got the Benelli M4. I was assembing it, and insterted the bolt and must have racked the slide or pushed it back. Now it's stuck in it's rearward most position and won't budge a hair. What did I do wrong?

    Loading M2 Field

00 sLUGS, FOLLOWD BY SLUG,AND 00 REPEAT. iT THAT DON'T STOP THEM, DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL.
  15. I got the surefire M80 trirail forend replacement. This way I can put the verticle light or interchange with my pistol's M300 or put another flash light on it. It seems more versatile.
  16. I'd just do any 2 3/4 defensive 00 buck load. It doesnt matter what other little nuiances it has. Because you're going to be under stress and the regular round vs. the managed recoil load WON"T be felt by you. The body's flight/fight/or freezey response will not let you feel that difference. You feel the difference when you're calm and evaluate it and shoot a lot of rounds in training. In the gun fight, your vision will narrow to a tunnel and focus on the enemy. Someome or both or no one will fire and it will be ever in literally seconds. I'd be surprised if a gunfight lasted even 1 minute. The fight will be over in 1 or 2 shells. The average civillian distace for encounters mirrors the police distance.....that is under 7 yards. Everything else is an exception.
  17. What do you do in the case you have longer length torx screws?
  18. Just a personal philosophy, I always buy the latest model of all things for many reasons......... 1. I consider later models to be evolutionary and thus improved, because if the earlier model was successful, the design would still be carried over. But it's not. 2. New models are supported by customer service more readily because older models have been out of production and they are mostly all "used" already. 3. Mechanical things deteriorate and degrade. So older models' springs and rubber, especially if used, have been sitting around longer. I've seen an older Benelli's pistol grip to be cracked and weathered. Again, if the older model has been around and used, then you have wear on springs. 4. I always assume new production items have more available parts then older models of the same type. Just as a car or TV analogy. Older models have less parts available. I don't know if all of these points fit the Benelli's but it's my take on OLD vs NEW in general.
  19. this is a gun forum but this diversion has illicited more respones than many of the strictly gun oriented replies, as evidenced by the number of views.. So you see the interest in non-gun related stuff. Pretty "authentic self" reply I'd say.
  20. Generally yes. Just adjust cleaning to accomodate the particualar shotgun's parts, in this case, it's gas system, but the rest is the same. Clean the barrel and the mag tube and wipe down the exterior.

    Eotech

My opnion, which you are soliciting opinions, is to stick with the EOtech. It's literally battle proven. Even if the window is smashed, and you can see through part of it, it can still be used. Choice of three batts, AA, N or CR 123, to match your other equipment. If you have a .223, they now have a reticle that matches the .223 out to 600 yards with hold overs. Also, many models are NV compatable. Other sights require you to look through a tube. Not as easily done as with EOtech. Army officially says to fire with both eyes open, to increase your field fo view to spot enemies on the side. Easiest to do with EO. Stick with the EOtech.
  22. Stid, I don't hunt, but because I just have time. Excellent pics. You truly enjoy your time on earth. More people should use their lives instead of being used by their lives. Thank you for your sevice to OUR country. My greates regret to this day (I'm 42) is that I never entered service. It is constanly on my mind.
  23. You can see vids of the large gauges on you tube. The kill en masse. Seemed in the old days, the fired at resting flocks and killed many with one shot. kewl:eek:
  24. there is a slip on version of the limb saver. cliff
  25. Nize. Never knew they made Benelli's that fancy.
