Same issue I had and others. Strange request to use the slide stop as a slide release. Why put serrations on the slide then? I feel this is a bug they need to address for a pistol meant for defense. What's a few more months?

I placed the ones I've taken off on gunbroker. I sold the limiter for about 20 bucks and the factory extension/spring/follower for about 35.

If you're chasing 922 compliance parts, the full length carriercomp tube will also come with a US made follower that will count towards your parts compliance.
-
When you have Class III toys on hand, you make certain that everything else you have is also in compliance.

I wouldn't recommend putting oil on the gas pistons. It isn't needed and just makes a lot of smoke and carbon.

KB, let me know if your XDs has issues chambering rounds. The one I handled had issues feeding when chambering by pulling the slide to the rear and letting it fly. 90% of the time it would function properly when using the slide stop as a slide release. It functioned fine while firing. I wasn't riding it into battery either. Are you doing a personal tax stamp or did you go the Trust route? I've heard the trust option speeds up the process since they don't have to process the finger prints.

Leverage is your friend.

FFT has a US made disconnector and trigger that will count towards your US made part count. The trigger will also give you a better trigger pull. So overall, your options are; 1. US Made Hammer (FFT or Geiselle) 2. US Made Trigger (FFT) 3. US Made Disconnector (FFT) 4. US Made Full Length Magazine Tube (Various sources, carriercomp being the most popular) 5. US Made Magazine Follower (carriercomp, FFT or Brownells) 6. US Made Handguards (FFT, Surefire and a few other rail type makers) 7. US Made stock (Mesa Tactical) You need a minimum of three US Made parts to legally install a full length magazine tube. You need a minimum of four US Made parts if you want to use the Benelli factory collapsible stock since it counts against you as two imported parts. Obviously you can't add the Mesa Tactical Urbino stock if you're planning on running the collapsible stock. So you must select four other options.

You'll need to source a 5.5mm box wrench also. Ignition kits often have them. The acorn nut is soft and the wrench barely fits as is. The Meprolight sights are nice though. The rear lamps are very small for a reason. Since your eyes are so close to the rear aperture, they are pin prick size to give you a visual reference to where the rear ghost ring is for head alignment.

922 issue mainly for people gunning for four US parts so they can install the factory collapsible stock.

When you tighten the magazine cap, do you feel a ratcheting action as you nearly tighten it completely? Remove the magazine cap, and inspect the the end, verify that there is a small detent protruding from the end of the barrel. If you look at the bottom of the magazine cap, you'll notice teeth like serrations that the detent will engage with.

No problem. I launched it as well on my buddy's M4. That little ******* bounced off the ground and back up inside my printer. 30 minutes of searching.

The GG&G unit has the disassembly feature. All the bolt handles do. Basically, you stick the thin portion of the bolt handle through the holes of the ARGO plugs, and use the handle as leverage to break the ARGO plugs loose. You can try that with a titanium bolt handle, but you risk bending it. The carriercomp handle has the steel shank, so it will handle the load.

When you start having hammer down on a live round situations, you realize you're outrunning the action. Anything you can do helps. Ive had all the bolt handles, including the FFT units. The carriercomp is the best. Hopefully he can get his production numbers up.

As you can see from the photographs, the carriercomp bolt handle is a much more refined item. The knurling is far better on the carriercomp unit. Knurling on titanium is a PITA to perform crisply. The steel shank on the carriercomp shows its purpose when comparing the all titanium Design Concepts bolt handle. Look at how the engagement area of the bolt handle is all chewed up. Dimensionally, both units are similar. The refinement is where they stand apart. The Design Concepts is slightly lighter than the carriercomp unit. They weigh in at 8.23 and 9.60 grams each. The factory bolt handle weighs in at around 12.5 grams. Right now, you're thinking, "Big deal, I'd never notice that." It isn't you who notices. Where it counts is the cyclic action of your M4. The heavier the bolt handle, the heavier your bolt carrier group is. This increases dwell time and slows the action slightly. When I had a GG&G bolt handle, it weighed in at 24.5 grams. I could feel how slow the action was moving with it installed.

Yep, too heavy. Really wish they would have focused on a barrel hanger mount instead of another rail system.
-
Mine still look fine. I did reinstall the carriercomp hammer though. The lighter trigger pull is certainly nice. I'd hit the trigger and the disconnector.
-
I received mine today. I compared it to the Design Concepts bolt handle. The carriercomp charging handle has far better machining. The knurling is perfect. The steel tang is pretty much impossible to bend. The black finish has a high gloss to it. It certainly looks clean. Highly recommended item if you're buying an oversized bolt handle.

The BLAM4 is crap. It won't hold its position no matter what you do. Seriously, why hasn't a manufacturer made a barrel clamp that clamps around the rear barrel hanger? The weapon would still be disassemble-able, and it wouldn't add much weight.

Damn, that might just be better than this one:

I grabbed one of the followers as well to compare to the old Brownells one I have. Good choice on the top rail. Get them while you can. When they sell out, their value starts to climb. I had to beat an old lady to death with her walker for one last year.

Order placed. I want to compare this charging handle to my Design Concepts unit. I also wanted a few spare magazine springs for the looming zombie apocalypse.
