  1. tell me about it, youll be obsessed by the time your done, you wll know everyting about it i promise! haha took me 3 months to finally decide on a scope, and STILL havent decided on the right ammo! good luck!
  2. well dont worry trap, im going to try the truballs too! they have caught my interest as well, but if i find that theyare about the same (accuracy) then im prolly just gunna pick the bigger one! hahah cuz im power hungry. haha jk, but if the truball outshoots the BM then ill stick with it, im also going to experiement with soem sabots as well, i just a broad side of a barn to sight in my gun because boresighters wont do the trick and you never know where them damn slugs are going to go until i get my scope sighted in!
  3. hahahah its alright, thats a small price to pay for the hammer of god hahahaha
  4. well thats a bummer, but great pattern though!
  5. dude, where do you get these? do you order them online or does your local retail sell theM?
  6. **** it.. lets go BUY a scope!
  7. well its not that im afraid of the setup, and flinching isnt the problem. If im zeroing it in and i get wacked everytime i shoot the damn thing them of course my aim is going to be off from the mild concussion i have just obained. But if it wont wack me while sighting it in, then i dont care at all if it hits me while im hunting, you dont feel it, if you drop an animal. But i ant to make sure the scope is on and my aimm is on, but i dont want to worry about my eye getting blacked! The mueller scope im lookin at has a circle-plex with a red dot in the middle, its good for all kinda stuff and is very versitle, the only thing that makes this scope perfect for me is the 3.4 eye relief.. actually i think its more like 3.3.. but i think after i aquire my target, i will move back from the scope just a smidge until i can see just a hint of black to give myself the maximum eye protection!
  8. well more than likely i will be hunting off my knee. i plan on going coyote hunting/bear huntin/deer huntin/turkey huntin with this set up. I just wonder if its the right scope for me. I wish i could just get a truglo but ive heard horror stories aobut truglo and their red dots
  9. wow.. that second one barely made it under 200 bucks.. haha i like the vortex.. but the scope im interested in is cheaper, and its a illuminated cross hair. heres a link.. http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/MU2732IGR.html im just afraid of the lil eye relief.
  10. well, **** now yall got me looking at red dots. does anyone know of a reliable red dot i could find for under 200 bucks
  11. well, i was going to deer hunt/turkey hunt. THe scope i am interested in is meant for both, but it only has 3.2-3.4in of eye relief. I will be shooting 3 1/2 turkey loads, and 3 inch slugs. I just wonder if it will be enough
  12. is 3.4 inches of eye relief enough when shooting heavy loads like 2 oz.. or 1 3/8 oz? I am wanting a scope for my supernova, but the eye relief is 3.4 inches.. i could really use some help guys.
  13. you will have to find some that your gun likes. no one really knows what slug your gun will like. I havent got to try mine either. but everyone says good things about federal's truball slugs, brenneke slugs, and some of Remmingtons slugs. Youll just have to try it out. IF you buy a carlsons rifled choke tube, you will be able to shoot rifled, fosters,or sabots out of it wihtout damaging the tube. Results may vary though.
  14. i dont know much about the nova.. but I LOVE my supernova! I wouldnt trade it for the world. 3.5 chambering, 28" barrel, and an all around **** of a gun!
  15. I believe this to be true to a point. If shot through a tight choke, i could see how the rifling would be rubbed off, but I shoot rifled slugs through a rifled choke but which isnt tight at all. I was worried about shooting rifled slugs through a rifled choke but I contacted carlson's and they said it was perfectly fine and even effective. THeir choke tubes are short but they are made of a high grade material that allows you to shoiot all kinda junk out of it. No steel of course. BUt im glad to hear about someone trying to use their smoothbore as a deer slayer. Im doing the exact same thing man. I bout some of the cheep rifled winchester super X's and decided to test out the old carlsons. I didnt have a scope or anything so I decided to set up a crayon box at about 40 yards. WIth a standard bead sight, I hit the crayon box 3/4 times. haha at 40 yards, i couldnt even see the crayon box because the bead overlapd it. But i havent tried the truball slugs, but i have heard they are amazing! Im going to try brenneke's black magics as well because they are one of the biggest accurate slugs out there. I wanna make sure if I hit something its going down!
  16. http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/MU2732IGR.html thats what i was looking at. The name isnt the first that comes to mind when talking about good scopes.. but I think that it fits me. Because the farthest I would ever have to shoot a turkey would be at 40 yards, and with my slugs I would only have to shoot 70-90 yards at the most! I live in Va and hunt deep in the appalachians. but, I also want that 7X magnification because I want to zoom on the deers vitals because where I have a smoothbore, i know that my slugs may be a bit unpredictable to a couple of inches. I want to make sure I get it as close as possible to its ticker!
  17. 10-4 man.. i just gotta man up and buy a scope! im so confused and I just wanna get somthing im happy with.
  18. i use a modified choke for my neihbors cats.. they are quick little critters.
  19. well i am a huge venison lover.. and i was thinking about using a scope on my shotgun. Just got it back from the blacksmith and he did a good job on the drill and tap job, simply because i couldnt find a good saddle mount. Anyway, the scope im looking at is a 2-7X32 and its a great scope for the value.. the only prob i have with it is the eye relief! only 3.25 inches. I mean i have shot a 300win, and a 7mm with a scope with only 2 in. of eye relief and only been cracked once! but these brenneke's are pretty well known for their recoil. Would 3.25 be enough???
  20. ballistics? im still alittle confused about this. I would LOVe for you to post some patterns with some brenneke black magics! i was wanting some of these but i figured it was a bit of overkill for deer hunting. If you will post some patterns i would really appreciate it. I was just wanting to try some federal truball since trapshooter seems to insist on them, i just dont want my accuracy to be thrown off by the size of the shell? or ballistics.. im confused to how that affects the shot?
  21. So your saying that accuracy COULD be affected by by a long chamber.
  22. ohh and another thing, those are 2 3/4in right. I read on a lightfield website that it decreases the accuracy if you shoot a 2 3/4 in a 3 1/2 chamber like my supernova. Any thoughts on that.
