Ah thanks. This german publication confirms that it's aluminum https://www.manfred-alberts.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Benelli-M4.pdf

Just caught this video of the new forend that popped up some months ago from the benelli defense website. I like the design better than the B&T forend... but really not liking the curved stock piece on the m4. The color looks different than the rest of the anodized pieces. Though I'm guessing it's aluminum.... but anyone more knowledgable think it might be polymer? edit - I'm not saying it's a good vid... some of the weapon handling is questionable at best... but it does show off the new attachments.
-
Umm yeah... I've had two m4 barrels with the front site post canted enough that it was annoyingly noticeable. But, they exchanged them after I sent them in...so there's that.
-
Howdy fellow humans I was just curious about the current state of the side saddle / card system solutions for the m4. I must confess I'm more interested in a hook and loop card system. Right now the RavenConcealment/Ares Gear system intrigues me. Also the Highspeedgear shotshell tray v2 looks good. I know that Asgard makes some nice aluminum models... but I like the collapsibility of an elastic system. But their forward shell holder interests me if I could get a pic rail closer to the ejection port. What are your thoughts?

I went with the aimpoint + scalar works mount due to being up in Alaska... with a fair amount of rain. Also had considerations with much colder temps in winter so the t-2 was a shoe in for me. I pretty much agree with what AVATactical has down. Cheers

I'd be contacting benelli to see about a repair/replacement

Didn't see too much new from shotshow news besides mossberg joining the magazine fed shotgun craze. Eotech has green reticles coming out. Robar has a new coating though... "ArmorLube" Anyone else catch anything shotgun related?

Thanks for the post on this here! Just double checked my trigger group and no issues with my older (~2012) FFT / OEM parts.
-
If I remember correctly my m4 has a slight amount I could push in due to where the detent sets on that pin... How does the other side of the pin look? I've only handled 4 or 5 m4s though and StrangerDanger should have a much better idea how m4 trigger guard pins should fit.

Fascinating.... I know that Benelli offers a 21" barrel for the M4 in Europe Opps it's just a 20" https://www.benelli.it/en/prodotti/fucili-semiautomatici/m4/m4-telescopic-stock

The zinc plated screws are better than stainless in terms of galvanic corrosion.... and like strangerdanger said it's probably not a worry unless you dip your shotgun in salt water often. I'd stick with the zinc

Standard m4 stock (non pg) limbsaver pad? LS-10403
Scout_21 replied to Drinktothat421's topic in Benelli
Yes it will... and I'm not aware of an air tech version -
SMH... do you think it should be legal to feed moose from your front porch?

I can confirm that 16mm screws are a better fit. They fully engage and don't bottom out. And I used the hardened 7075-t6 ones anyway
-
I was concerned about the aluminum but 316 and 7075-t6 have similar tensile strengths...and shear strengths. To me the biggest issue would be the elasticity values where 316 has about double, or more, than that of 7075-t6. I'll ask my engineer friend about other factors.

Only if you shoot it fully collapsed against your shoulder.

Yeah just to follow up the regular c-stock screws won't work because they are too short. I just ordered some 316 stainless torx pan head screws from boltdepot.com that are 16mm long. I'll report back on how well they fit. Yeah I know they are at high risk for galvanic corrosion. I also placed an order for these: http://www.fastener-express.com/m4-x-7-x-16mm-but-head-cap-screw-aluminum-qty-50.aspx Anyone else have thoughts on fastener materials and if the aluminum would be too weak for this purpose?
-
Here's the cut out I made so I could fully collapse the stock. I only cut the hard plastic. Thankfully there is a void in the limbsaver rubber material so I didn't need to work on any of that. The silver discoloration is just from a sharpie I used to mark out the area to be removed. I basically marked out that area and tried to fully collapse the stock a few times to rub off some of the sharpie. That gave me a starting point for the drill press and dremel. No plates are needed for this specific limbsaver model. Other models do require the Noveske plate as the screw holes are aligned differently.
-
To start off you specifically need this limbsaver model - 10403 It comes with the wood screws used for the field and pistol grip stocks. You will need two m4x0.7 - 14mm screws for the C-stock. NOTE 15 or 16mm MIGHT be better but I haven't tested those as they weren't in stock at my local hardware store.
-
There seems to be some confusion about this issue. I'll take pictures of my setup and post them later tonight (Alaska time)
-
I can confirm you DO NOT need it for the 10403 Limbsaver. If you have a different model you may need it
-
Nope, it fits without any adapters for the PG and "traditional" stocks. It does need different screws and the hole for the collapsible stock though. If you are using a pinned c-stock then no hole would be needed. I did want to clarify on the screws. I used 14mm length and they fit fine...but you might be able to use a slightly longer screw. I haven't experimented to find the "best" length yet. Cheers
-
The 10403 fits perfectly. However you'll need 2 m4-0.7 x 14-16mm screws for the metal collapsible stock. Also, if you want it to fully collapse you'll need to cut out an appropriate hole in the plastic of the pad. It's not hard. I used a drill press and a dremel to cut it out and I'm happy with it.

I'd be in for at least 2
