  1. Have you guys considered the Briley handguard? I have it on mine and it is awesome. I was skeptical of getting it, but I just went for it and bought the 13" one, and man I'm so glad I did. Could be an option for you guys. It has about 56 M Lok slots (13" model) and what I like the most about it is that you can do a c-grip and wrap your hand around the top because the guard wraps up around the top of the barrel and you can get a good grip without ever touching the barrel, which is something I hated about the factory forend, you have to wear gloves or shoot while holding the factory forend which over long sessions started to tweak my wrist. I have about 500 rounds give or take through my M4 with this forend mounted and it is holding up great, I haven't had any issues with it. Just an option to consider.
  2. I have been running the Magpul M Lok AFG on mine and I have it attached to the Briley 13" handguard and I love it. My wife finds it a little easier to use and she gets a better purchase on the weapon especially when she shoots the heavier loads. I didn't want to put a full vert grip because I didn't want too much stuff hanging off the end and making it an overall bigger weapon, but at this point, I don't think that matters lol. Try them out and see if you like them, maybe it might help you control and manipulate the weapon better, who knows, but doesn't hurt to give it a try, and if not then each their own. If you are better without then great, whatever makes you better at getting repeated shots on target.
  3. So, I had the fixed pistol grip stock on mine when I got it and the LOP on it is well, long. I changed it out with the field stock, which I currently have on my M4 and as weird as it sounds it is a world of difference. The measurements or LOP or technically the same, but the field stock feels much much shorter. I don't know why and I'm sure there is some better explanation as to why, probably has something to do with the pistol grip itself, but it feels a lot shorter and just feels overall better. I love the field stock and will keep it on my M4 for the foreseeable future unless Magpul or some other company makes a better field stock. I have no intention of going back to the pistol grip. But others might say differently.
  4. Welcome! Always happy to get new members on here. I am not sure about the Limb saver, but I am curious if you have ever shot a Benelli M4. I ask because I don't think the limb saver is that big of a deal, now this is my opinion and others will tell me I'm crazy, but if you are a younger guy or have a large frame, I don't think you will need to worry about a limb saver, but if you are sure about getting it then go for it. I shoot quite a bit of the M4, everything from bird shot to 3" magnum and I do long shooting sessions, at least 200 rounds a week(that's a lot to me at least lol), and that is just counting shot shells and not others weapons that I shoot as well during those sessions. I have never seen the need for the limb saver because the Benelli is such a soft shooting weapon even with the heavier shells compared to the pump, but again that is my experience and everyone is different. I would say to go do some shooting and see if that is something you will want to get, again just my opinion on that. Chokes, oh the infamous chokes. I have also been doing a lot of research and testing with different chokes and ammo. This is a rather large subject, it depends a lot on the ammo you are using and what works best or patterns best for your individual M4. I have found out the hard way that not all shotguns and chokes are created the same and have lost some money on buying chokes that don't do the same as the reviewers or maybe what I thought they would do, that is my fault for having unrealistic expectations. I'm still learning about this subject so maybe some other guys could give better info this is all my opinion. The current setup I use for HD is an IC (improved cylinder) choke with Hornady Critical Defense 2 3/4. I like this combination because it keeps the shot close, but not as close as say the Federal Flite control, but it doesn't open it up like it would with a "standard" 00 shot. Again this would depend on your specific shotgun and the distance you are using. What I did was take measurements of my home, so from my bed to my bedroom door, my bedroom door to the end of the hallway, then from the bottom of the stairs to the top of the stairs, from the top of the stairs to the front door and back door. I took all those measurements and went and shot a variety of shells at those distances to see what does the best with my M4 and with a couple of different chokes (IC, M, Full). I have found that the IC with Critical Defense did the best for me and what I want. Others may have different results and you might too, you need to get out there and shoot to see what yours can do. The chokes that I like the best are Benellis chokes and Carlsons chokes. Those have worked best for me and your results may vary. I do not know about skeet shooting as I don't skeet shoot, so maybe others might be able to give you some recommendations for that. Here is a video that will give you an idea of what you can start doing and maybe change on your M4. I, like you, am new to the M4 and have been doing endless research on what to get. Just know that this video is to give you an idea of what to do, you don't have to buy the exact stuff from FFT, he does have good stuff, but there are other companies that sell these same items that are for sure cheaper or better quality and features, so do your research. There are a lot of really good guys on here that can help you along as they have helped me tremendously in this endeavor. I would say to keep searching the message boards because more likely than not your question has probably already been answered in-depth, but if you can't find the answer guys here I'm sure are always willing to help you out to find the answer. Hope this info helps you out and again welcome to the Benelli Boards, hope to hear from you soon. Dduplek Slugs

Contacted Ddupleks for information regarding their slugs and shooting them from a full choke, this is their response email. Thank you for the interest in our products and the good words! Yes, you can use them in full choke. The diameter of the steel part is calculated to be safe for any choke - only the polyethylene encasing is touching the barrel. Best regards, Andris Stipnieks D Dupleks So, if I understand correctly the slim piece of plastic that is around the rim of the projectile is what grabs the barrel and will be able to squeeze through the barrel and the choke. Well, I have an email from them stating that it is fine even in a full choke. I will test this and report back to you guys and let you know if it works. If it does, I think the Hexolits are going to be my main go-to slug from now on. As some of you know about this slug it is super powerful and destroys everything, I also like the mechanics behind them with the petals breaking apart from the main head and just slicing up everything. I hear they work wonders on the skinwalkers and dogmen.
  7. Hey guys, I have noticed when having long shooting sessions that when I get home to clean the weapon, the choke is always loose and sometimes, the flush choke, has backed out enough for me to grab it with my fingertips. I have the Benelli choke wrench as well as a Carlson choke wrench, and I wrench them down pretty tight. I'm a big guy and pretty strong and I tighten it down to where if I keep going it feels like it will break so trust me it's tight. But without fail it will back out. Last time I kept notice of it and saw it back out after about 80-100 rounds (or about 4-5 boxes of 25), not like it is going to fly out, but I worried I might forget and may bump it on something and bend or dent the choke or damage the threads. So, my question is, is this normal? Did I damage the threads somehow? I half thought about locktiting an IC choke in it and calling it a day, but then I don't want to limit my shotgun to just IC, I have other chokes and like to be able to switch them out. So what is the problem, am I doing something wrong, is it damaged already? Is this something I can fix or is this just what it is?
  8. The Briley 13" Mlok handguard has been working amazingly well for me. It is nice because I can get a full grip around the top and your hand will never touch the barrel. I love this handguard and I am so glad I got it. Zero regrets.
  9. What do you mean sir? Skinwalkers are a real thing and a good dose of slugs is the medicine needed to rid yourself of them. Having them sprinkled with a little holy water and a cross etched on the top of the slug does wonders as well. 😛
  10. Yeah the Super X's are nice and seem to be a solid cartridge. My shotgun loves them and they shoot true. They are nowhere as bad as the Remington Sluggers, but they definitely have some heat behind them.
  11. Great article. So what I have learned before reading this is basically being upheld. Sabot slugs are kinda pointless in a smooth bore. You should read this article Sukhoi_fan, it has some really good information on the subject. If not, then here is the conclusion of the evaluation of the sabot slugs in a smooth bore and rifled slugs as well. Lessons learned: Sabot slugs in a rifled barrel are very accurate. Shooting sabot slugs through a smooth bore is a waste of money. They will "work" but accuracy suffers and there is no reason to spend the extra money for sabot slugs if you are going to shoot them through a smooth bore. Besides, if they are not flying straight and nose-first, they will not expand as designed. Different shotguns "like" different loads. Just like rifles and pistols. You must try different loads to find what your gun "likes". Shooting a non-sabot rifled slug through a rifled barrel can cause them to shoot into very nice groups. When we got home and cleaned the rifled barrel, the five non-sabot, rifled slugs had not really deposited any lead that we could notice. The barrel cleaned-up sparkling clean very easily. It's fun to shoot stuff.
  12. Yeah, I like the Ddupleks, they shoot soft and have been pretty accurate. They also claim that you can shoot them through any type of choke. I have not tested this with anything tighter than IC and I just haven't found the time to call them yet and get clarification on what they mean by ANY choke. But if you can shoot these safely through a full choke they will shoot to the top of my list. It was my understanding that shooting sabot rounds through a smooth bore is kind of pointless and you lose the potential of the round and that a sabot round through a smooth bore does no better, if not worse, than a rifled slug through the same barrel. I could be wrong, please educate me on the subject if my understanding is incorrect.

Ddupleks Hexolit 32- 2 3/4 12 gauge 1 1/8th oz slug 1400 fps Ddupleks Dupo 28- 2 3/4 12 gauge 1 oz slug 1460 fps Winchester Super X- 2 3/4 12 gauge 1 oz slug 1600 fps Remington Slugger- 2 3/4 12 gauge 7/8 oz slug 1800 fps Federal Premium Hydra-Shok- 2 3/4 12 gauge 1 oz slug 1610 fps Brenneke Tactical Home Defense- 2 3/4 12 gauge 1 oz slug 1378 fps These are the ones I narrowed my choices down to. I have tried a ton of different loads, but I found these work best in my M4 personally. The only one I would say that is a little much is the slugger round, even in the M4 that thing kicks like a mule. I think my favorite out of all these is the Federal Hydra-shok round. The mechanics behind it are great and it is a very soft shooting round for it being a 1oz slug going 1610 fps. I will do some more shooting with these and get it narrowed down, but I am interested in what you guys think. What is your go-to slug and how has it worked for you? Do you use different slugs for different situations? Why did you ultimately pick the slug that you did and does all of it really matter?
  14. Which of these do you choose for your daily load? Hornady Critical Defense 8-pellet 2 3/4 12 gauge buck 1600 fps Federal Premium Law Enforcement 8-pellet 2 3/4 12 gauge buck 1145 fps I am curious as to what the consensus is on these two cartridges. I have had great success with both of them in my Benelli M4 and I think both serve a purpose so to speak. I like the Critical Defense more personally because as it does keep a tight pattern it does open up a tad bit more than the flite control does at shorter distances for me at least. The Flite Control keeps a tighter pattern at a longer distance than the Hornady does. Yet, my shotgun is for HD and I am not shooting past 10-12 yards in my home so I like the fact that the Critical Defense opens up a bit at those distances, but still maintains a tight pattern over other "standard" 00 rounds. I have been very lucky when it comes to ammo recently as my lgs have had large batches of both of these rounds come in so I have been buying it up faster than they can restock the shelves. What do you guys think? Interested to hear all your experience on this matter. I have seen videos of people getting all kinds of different results when shooting these two rounds from different shotguns, but mostly have been from pumps, and was curious what the outcomes have been from the Benelli community.
  15. Yeah, I have been doing a lot of research on it and it doesn't seem like it will work. Also been digging everywhere for an RCR and can't find one of those either, at least not one for a reasonable price. So, I am probably going to just get the Scalarworks bundle Aimpoint T2 and call it good, that is until Scalarworks makes an RCR mount and RCRs become more readily available.
  16. I mean, anything is possible, right? But could this realistically be done? It would pass NFA and be treated like a shockwave.
  17. Which model Streamlight? Any pictures?
  18. Well dang, that sucks. Would love to have that for the M4
  19. Hey guys, I was reading an article on the M3 and they had a picture of this guy with what looks like a paddle-type charging handle. Does anyone know anything about this or seen one in the wild?

  21. Wow. I love it!
  22. More pictures, please!
  23. Hey guys, Question. So, I have been talking with the guys at Scalarworks and Trijicon trying to figure something out. I want to get the RMR Sync mount and use the Trijicon RCR for it on my Benelli M4. Now it is my understanding that the footprint for the RCR is the same as the Type 2 and Tijicon did confirm this, but when talking with Jimmie at Scalarworks they have some concerns for the compatibility, such as the screw length and the mounting holes with those new capstan screws that Triicon is using for the RCR. Trijicon told me that the RCR "should" be able to work and mount with no issues and Scalarworks says they simply do not know yet because they have not received one from Trijicon yet to test and evaluate. Trijicon did say that the co-witness of the RCR may be an issue and might not be able to, but they were not sure about that either. So after talking with both companies neither of them is completely sure of the full compatibility of the RCR with the Sync mount or if they will be able to keep all the features such as co-witnessing and that's fine, I am glad they were honest about not knowing instead of just trying to push the sale. Now my question to you fine folks. Does anyone here have any experience with the RCR mounting on the sync mount? Has anyone here seen anyone do it yet? I'm pretty set on that exact setup. I have and might consider some other types of setups for optics, but I really want to do it that way, but I don't want to drop all the cash and then it doesn't work, and have to go through the return process. Any info or guidance would be much-appreciated guys, thank you!
  24. There are a lot of things Benelli is missing out on, but I don't think they care. I guess it is our fault because we keep buying their guns lol.
