  1. Long time Benelli lover and owner of 5 M4s (yes i know thats a bit crazy), a M1Super90 and 3 benelli M2 tactical. Decided to pick up the gen2 Beretta 1301 tactical. Before testing fully I wanted to take it apart to see about the robust-ness of the system. Definitely about 85% or bit less as robust as my M4 or M2's .... buuuuut, its design necessitates this, because its very lightweight. Faster than the M4? Oh hell yes. Had so much fun with it, ...I thought its light weight would make recoil a good bit more brutal, but not that i could tell. At $1550 (what i paid) i dont have to buy a +2 tube or full tube, its already there. actually what LOOKS like a +2 on the end of the Beretta is actually a plastic cover, the 7 round tube is single and continuous inside it. 10 out of 10 times, ill be taking my beretta 1301 out for spins over any of my benellis. Its just that enjoyable honestly. Buuuuut, since Beretta owns benelli, the $$$$$$$ goes to the same folks, so Im sure they dont care.

  2. Polymer forend is 5oz. that Benelli forend is a cash grab, poorly designed and implemented, considering the proprietary accessory attachment system they are using. Benelli could have easily gone with mlok which is at this point an industry standard. the ergos also do not compare to the polymer forend as far as I can tell, I haven’t held the metal one but doesn’t look nearly as comfortable. Just in my opinion of course.

  3. id like a M1014 but my 11707 threaded for chokes comes in very handy when exterminating the coyotes.

  5. Lots of plastic on there. Honestly a plastic tube cover on the mag tube that holes the whole gun together… I don’t get all the plastic parts beretta chose to go with. it would be a much better quality firearm if they increased the Price $100 and used metal components. No field stripping without tools either with that clamp on the end.

  6. I can see that. I generally use a rifle for coyotes. Are you generally urban or are they getting that close? I pick them off across a field at 100-150

  7. I run rx arms titanium charging handles .comp carrier titanium tubes ..And tryed aftermarket handguards.a they just make a heavy gun even heavier. And suck when you have to breakdown to clean it .So I switched back to factory stippled handguards. And I use scalarworks with t2s

  8. On page 65 of the USMC TM 10698A-10/1 it states "it is recommended that the iron sights of the combat shotgun be zeroed at a range of 100 meters with a single projectile (slug) ammunition and 25 meters using multiple projectile (00 or 000 buckshot, etc.). It is also recommended that three-round groups be fired prior to making adjustments when zeroing with slugs.”

  9. Good looking shotgun. Wasn’t thinking of doing anything to mine but now I think I might. Just mounted my MRO last night. Does anyone know if there’s a better pistol grip for this.

  10. 70 yards with crappy Remington slugs, 3 shot group from a Lead Sled. Trijicon RMR Type 2, 1moa dot optic. Another 3 shot group from the same parameters. Different M4, 3 shot group at 70 yards. Trijicon RMR Type 2, 3.5 moa dot optic. Same cheap Remington slugs.
