  1. not starting any argument Tucker .. just a question.
  2. Thought we could share some with each other. I've been looking for a Duck/Goose bratwurst recipe - anyone have one they could share? I'll post up a couple favorites when I get home later on
  3. Nice pix guys! but whats up with shooting hens though?
  4. buy a winchester ... problem solved
  5. Tucker are you serious? go to the hardware store and stock up on frwakin parts?.... wth are you thinking? ... I'd be damned if I'd ever recomend someone build a gun they paid over $1000.00 for ... thats nuts man .. an its not right!!
  6. Take the gun back ... get your money and buy an SX3 and forget about it ... This kind of crap is rediculous .. especially for what this company is charging for the junk.
  7. Another vote for the SST by Hornady .. recoil is irrelevant for one shot.. just breathe and hold on tight.
  8. Duck Commander's "Mallard Drake" is one you should have and learn - pretty easy but like any calling it takes practice and time out listening to the ducks in order to mimic them correctly. Their wood duck call is a good one, too. Around here for Teal I use a higher tighter pitched Mallard hen tone so if you can find something that sounds the like.. more power to ya. Wish I could recomend one but the one I use has been around for a few decades and I can't for the life of me figure out what make it is. Keep it simple though .. most times less is more when calling and keep those obnoxious hail calls to a minimum.. every tom dick and harry this side of the south pole just beats that dog dead for the most part. For Woodys I tick and cluck with very few weezes mixed in.. tough to talk about it just comes out nowdays.
  9. Just bought Swarovski's SLC 10X42 model this season. Like 'em real well so far. Terrain varies from area to area for Whitetails. Been using Steiners for the past four or so years with good results. They're still packed just in case the worse happens.
  10. we should probably be asking something first .... What species of duck(s)?
  11. :::: birddog scratches head wondering if they've looked at a Nova::::
  12. I don't care who ya are .. that there is good fun!! tuck--tuck--tuck---- ---- GOOSE!
  13. How soon you forget my firey friend.. the 2 Mag-10's I have in the safe I'd love to use but they weigh a metric ton.. sooo, mother goose would have have to step-it-up for this guy to shell out the ching.. Nothing too terrible, M1014.. I've just brodened my horizon a bit more.
  14. Need no-tox on state lands or 'waterfowl' preserve/reserve areas in S.Dakota if I remember correctly been a while since I've hunted away from the private lands I stomp. 2-3/4" 1-1/8oz #4's reving @ 1300+ will do the trick just fine - 3" 7/8-1oz 20's at the same 1300+ make 'em drop just fine too.
  15. shucked 2's through the SBE yesterday and loaded up on Green Teal and Mallards over cut corn - was alright.. dog was happy for the work. I wish they had a 2-3/4" offering though.
  16. This birddog wouldn't mind a 10 either ... but they'd need to step it up a notch for me to pay for it.
  17. Still kickin' here.. birds are being held at bay yet.. need to reload though!
  18. This one reason I have jumped ship to Winchester.. still have my older Franchis (pre and post Beretta) and my original SBE and 391 models... but I hate expensive "cheap crap"... sad!
  19. should look at the Winchesters .... sort of taboo on here but they're nice and light and shoot like a dream.
  20. I've got 10 tails fanned in seperate picture frames with 2 different types of fabric they're mounted on (backing) .. they look great on the wall and you don't have to dust 'em.
  21. yep certain zones here in WI are shotgun only. I actually took 2 deer this year with the 20ga so far
  22. yep.. funny story. 1-1/2 oz loads huh? ... I really hope you brought a few birds home that weren't hamburger! Just got back from the Kansas opener myself - was a good weekend
  23. Nice pics CuzTheyFly. Shooting in my area has been good on woodies and teal so far.. spoonies have been a little more plentiful and I've noticed an increase in my respective area in pintails and canvasbacks. Canadian's have been overly plentiful.. only 1 a day bag here and it'll be strong until season's end.
