    Easy Benelli?

agree with mr. witt T-H, that pink shotgun - AKA "pinky" is famous! I have seen mr Greshum (SP?) shoot it on TV several times and have seen it on various segments of Guns & Ammo TV....it gets a lot of laughs but it is certainly different! I've always wondered why someone has not come out with a blue "denum" pattern....one that is applied by dipping like the camo stuff?!?! This would be great for conceal carry, 90% of us wear blue jeans and what better way to hide your G-LOCK than to have it "fade" right into your pants?!?!
  2. camo pattern is a personal preference and what hunting you plan to do most....if it's mostly waterfowl i'd lean toward the Max4 pattern for everything else the HD Timber of APG patterns are outstanding! Make sure you follow the "break-in" proceedure in the manual when you get the gun....this will help you avoid any failures caused by lighter loads! These guns are extremely reliable but like any firearm that shoots 2-3/4", 3" and 3-1/2" they must be maintained and if your like most guys you won't look at the manual until somebody tells you to do so later........good luck! BTW - I own 4 Benelli's right now, some I have had for over 12 years they are fantastic shotguns! I also shoot a Browning Gold 10 bore for waterfowl mostly, it is a highly specialized firearm intended for longer distances and larger shot, it patterns an shoots extremely well, too. Several friends shoot the Browning Gold 3.5's (12ga) and my Benelli's and the Gold 10 outperform nearly every one of them. Matter of fact my old Browning A5 Mag Twelve out performs many of the newer guns I see in the duck blind....buy it has a Hastings Wadlock barrel, too! DITTO - "tucks" reply!!!!!!!!
  3. td, i've been playing around with a couple of "green" lasers on my M&P .45acp and have learned that our eyes actually see green better than red under many different environmental conditions. Don't have any expereice with the optics you are looking at but based on what I've seen with "green" lasers they should work very well. a friend has a BSA red dot on his turkey rig and I have actually shot it....has the clearest lense i've looked thru! I think he told me it was less than $50 new......here's a link; http://www.bsaoptics.com/scope.aspx?product=106 Good luck!

  5. interesting article.....i ran across this today and it is exactly what i have planned for this spring when i go to texas turkey hunting....one SBE2 & two barrels....hogs and gobblers, yeeehaaaa!! http://www.shootingtimes.com/longgun_reviews/st_benelli_200711/
  6. T-H, i didn't mean to get you riled....did i spell that right....like you said even a dipstick like me, a drivel spewing ohioan knew what you were asking! BTW - i'm leaning toward #1, as well....
  7. i noticed the same thing with respect to plastic buildup in my SC beretta guns....i think the drag of the wad helped keep the shot cup together with less flyers......at least that's what i told myself as i cleaned choke tubes!!
  8. honk, a .640 tube......you shooting #6 or 7-1/2" outta that pipe???

thats funny right there........ i wish i could find the pic a friend on mine from NODAK sent to me of his new AR15 toy.....he had the gun powder coated pink cause his wife gripped about ALL his "black" guns! it was really SWEEEEET....and I'm not gay!
  11. I hate to say this T-H but "tuck" is right your post........it did say "lubes" but you really wanted to know what "solvents" were bad for plastic guns! Hey, I knew what you meant, this is why I put so much thought into my ACETONE reply.......there are some wicked lubricants to watch out for (esters for example) but you won't find these in the gun shop or even walmart....esters are used more widely for industrial purposes! Here's an example, don't take your plastic gun to a bakery their oven conveyors are typically lubricated with ester oils....they will attack the plastic and the heat will melt it too!

she is purty T-H but have you considered a "hot pink" dip instead of green? i hear it is all the rage............

Have to say I agree with Full Bore with respect to gun fit....makes all the difference in the world, so does proper position and hold....excellent advice from a fellow Buckeye! SgtC, back when I was traveling the "Sporting Clays" circuit in 1997 & 1998, mostly shooting in the Cabela's sanctioned NASC events it was routine to shoot the following in a weekend (2 days); Saturday - 3 x 100 round practice, 2 x 100 round side event, 200 round main event, 8 rounds of 5 stand (200 birds), 5 rounds of FITASC (500 birds) = 900+ shots.....if your not familar with sporting clays events a double can be thrown and you shoot the first bird but the second breaks as it comes off the trap, trapper calls "no bird" so you shoot the pair over! Therefore you might shoot more than 100 or 200 shots per event....always carry a few extra shells when shooting these tournaments! Sunday - Repeat except less practice rounds! These tournaments move quickly and at the end of the day you are tired and sore....unless your shooting a Beretta 390 (lol)! The last Vintage Cup event I shot in 2002 was a 2 day shoot and I shot in 5 X 100 bird events each day with 12, 16, 20, 28 & .410 and a few 5 stand "fun shoots".....this was done with vintage sxs guns! Let me add that there were several men and woman who shot more in a weekend at these events than I did.....they were NOT wussies or wooosies (take your pick)!

  15. welcome, and good luck with your turkey season in Canada! sorry, I don't have any experience with the P350 but I hope it works well for you!
  16. that scares me more than just a little...... seriously, I hunted around the Sam Rayburn area a couple of years ago and it was a bad week weather wise. Didn't see a lot of bird sign but talked to several locals who got me on a nice property. This year I've got access to a huge farm near Gilmer, TX.......about 40 miles west of Shreavport, LA so I'm told??? Anyway, the landowner tells me there are loads of turkeys and hogs but he doesn't know a rio from an eastern....anybody familar with that area???
  17. my bad guys....the Limbsaver pad i ordered has a bracket that screws to the SG stock and the pad then "pops" on and off as needed.....it is a prefit no grinding required!
  18. thanks for the 411 "quake" I have a SVL Limbsaver ordered and will give that a go on a new SteadyGrip I picked up for the SupaNova....if I don't like that I'll go back to the "CT" and look for that "CT" gel pad!
  19. td, I've got an SVL Limbsaver on order for my Super Nova.....according to their site it is a "pop" in replacement but I'll let you know when it get here!
