Beretta also owns Burris, who now owns Steiner as well.

Benelli is owned by Beretta.

It depends on your intended use, or more importantly, abuse. If you're strictly an upland bird hunter, the wood should be fine. My duck guns take too much of a beating to trust wood. The Benelli wood stocks can be pretty thin and hollow. My R1 stock cracked on its first day afield. Benelli made it good, but I had to hunt with a cracked stock until the replacement arrived.

There is no mass-produced replacement trigger for the R1. There are a couple of options: Install the trigger assist device that has been discussed here previously. I personally don't like the concept at all, but I've never actually tried on either. Take the trigger assembly to a skilled gunsmith and see if he will polish the mating surfaces and possibly stone away some of the metal. It's a time-consuming and tricky procedure, but a skilled craftsman can make all the difference in the world. I do my own work, but I won't do trigger jobs for others, because of liability issues.

I modified my factory trigger following instructions found on the web and I am very pleased with the results. http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/showthread.php?t=37329

You can edit your posts. Never seen a better reason to do so than above. Clean it well, lube it well with CLP, Try a different brand of ammo. My SBEII eats Kents and Black Clouds like candy, but it has struggled with Drylock and other Winchester stuff.

Second split opened on my 50th Birthday. It was a good one! 5 of the 6 were my doing

Precisely what the sight is designed to do. But to buy one and mount it on a brand new gun, without regard for testing under the factory setup, is ill-advised. One could easily do more harm than good.

What are the advantages of having such a bright sight on a shotgun? It seems to me that unless there's an eye dominance issue or POI issue, you would want the front sight to be unobtrusive and benign, so that you can shoot more instinctively.

It's the medication that's got you thinking that.

skeeter & blackdog, I will say this much. Skimming through your posts, it's amazing to me that you two are even from the same planet. One is articulate, intelligent, and a skillful debater. He supplies hard facts and sound information to make his many valid points. The other acts like he should be monitored by professionals and heavily medicated.

I went to bed early, got up early, and hunted all day. Ditto for tomorrow. The simple fact is that all of the debating on this forum isn't going to change anyone's mind, nor will it make a lick of difference. You're better off trying to sell purses. By the way, "The Peoples Republic of China" sounds like a Republican country to me. I mean, it's right there in their name and all. So, is that the kind of government we want?

And the other side. Ahhh yes, the other side. The side of truth, justice, integirty..... Puhleeeeze http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200911100063

How was that America became so desperate for change to begin with? This crap really does get old. Death Panels, Un-American, Muslim, Born in Kenya, and so on and on and on. Give a friggin' rest already. In just ten months, somehow everything that the circus from the previous 8 years screwed up and cluster%@ed, has suddenly become his fault? I hope he doesn't fail! We already had about all of the failure this nation can bear.

She knows how to get the plug out!

On a typical DSL setup, the LAN IP (your internal network) will be the default gateway. You typed that address into your browser and hit Enter to log into the configuration page for the modem, which also routing functionality. Once there, you look for something along the lines of "MAC Address Clone" or WAN IP release. It could be any one of a number of different names, depending on the software is designed. Changing the MAC address on the modem forces it get a new IP from the provider. Once you have the new IP, you simply dump all Arfcom's cookies from Firefox and go back to sign up for a new account. Post the exact model of the modem and I can help with more detailed instructions. Do you have an additional router between the DSL modem and the computer? If so, you can make changes there as well. The only other way to do it is to disconnect from the DSL long enough for them to drop your IP lease. Typically, that will be 24 hours, but it could be longer. You can check your IP at http://www.whatismyip.com/ When changes are made, go back there and confirm that it has changed.

Yup, it's an IP block. What kind of router do you have?

The problem with placing value on a gun like yours, cartman, is that few people will desire to have it in that configuration. I like everything but the scope, for example. Therefor the scope is of no use to me at all. Same thing with the factory stock. I'd gladly give you $250 for the A3 stock, however.
-
Good catch on the factory stock. I'd call it a fair and even trade for a new M4. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=146449752

12FVSS - $700 A3 stock - $450 Weaver Classic 6-24 X 42 - $400 Burris Tactical Rings $40 EGW Base - $40 Factory Stock - $40 Dies - ??? Misc??? ______________________________ $1670+

The only unfair thing about that trade would be that the person getting the Savage and extras would be coming out way ahead.
