Another consideration: 24" barrels can be tough on the hearing of others in the blind or pit.

If you like sweet and a little spicy and have a Buffalo Wild Wings in your area they have an Asian Zing wing sauce that excellent on grilled duck and pheasant.

Last year I bought a Winchester Select Tradition Elegance for under $1000, they were replaced by another model in 2008. There are still a lot of NIB out there. It is a Belgum made gun, with all the bells and whistles.

If you are hunting pin raised birds they most likely will not get up like wild birds, meaning closer in. Try to pattern your gun at 40 yards with Improved choke and the rounds you are going to shoot in the field.

Have spent the last 4 days in Western SD hunting in snow and freezing rain. Have cleaned with CLP every night, with no trouble.

I have used them for a couple years and they work fine. Before I like and used Hi Viz, but the magnetic sights worked its way down the barrel with recoil.

We shoot #5 or #6 heavy loads (Kent, Winchester Supreme), but learned a lesson last year about the wind. In S.D. hunting with a local farmer, the wind was blowing 25 - 30 mph, he has knocking birds down, we were hitting them but not knocking them dead. He told us to switch to 4s with the wind blwoing hard. It worked.

I replace my front sights with EasyHit sights shortly after getting the guns, about three / four years ago.

Last year I shot #4 Black Cloud 3.5 at ducks and Hevi Shot #2 at geese. Both are a liitle pricey, but worth the value to me

I do remember the days of shooting lead at water fowl and some so the newer high density non tox come close. I too believe that we will see more hunting areas requiring non tox. At the end of the day we all might end up shooting pellets made of biodegradable corn gluten.

What brand of shell were these? Last year I used Hevi Shot #2 on Specs and it was amazing to fold one at 50 yard.

That's my plan this year, shoot Hevi Shot #6 at little ducks (teal, woddies and ringneck)

Just in one of the posts, they were dissapointed that the tube extension went 2" beyond the end of barrel.

What is your M2 barrel length? Are the tube extensions made for a certain length barrel?
