Save your lies, traitor! To the gallows with this one!

Nothing sarcastic in my post. If it gets here before 2011, I'll consider it "on time". I learned long ago never to believe launch dates for vaporware products in the gun industry. That said, everyone interested in an Urbino clearly knows that the OEM collapsibles exist and isn't interested in them for whatever reason.

This thread clearly isn't for you.

I'm not holding my breath. If it gets here before 2011, fantastic.

Your first AR is ridiculous. Your Piston MRP is sexy, it just needs a light.
-
She needs that stock in the middle position. Then she could comfortably lean forward and handle the recoil much better ... but she still did pretty good.

I have to admit, I laughed out loud reading this. I know you are new and I shouldn't pick on you and stuff, but this is kind of like saying OMG WE ELECTED A BLACK SOCIALIST!??!?!?! Only the Benelli policy was like ... 4-5 years I think, not 2 years ago. Yes, it sucks, but that's the current status and has been so for some time.

Update - Justice has arrived. The replacement, vastly superior rail from Carriercomp is now completed and shipping. http://shop.carriercomp.com/product.sc?productId=6&categoryId=5 One of the M4s few weak links has now been fixed! Thanks to Carriercomp for making this possible. There also now is another alternative to the stock rail made available by Sidearmor ... it is a much larger rail, with options for forward light mounting above the handguard and 2 different shell carriers. This rail is available with and without the center cut rail groove ... be sure to order without if you order! http://www.sidearmor.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28_30&products_id=70 Either option should be good to go and vast improvement over the stock option. Personal preferences are personal, etc.

Order placed! I'm proud to have been the inspiration for such a needed part. One of the M4's few weak links has finally been fixed! Thanks for making this possible. I wish you the best of luck in all future endeavors Kip, and keep your chin up when the naysayers / entitlement crowd start whining and doubting you. Godspeed!

I can get under MOA with 75 and 77 grain match ammo. Impressive for a chrome lined. That said, it's not at all set up / built to be a bench gun. I'd build a 20 inch 6.5 grendel stainless rifle for that, or buy an OBR. I'll give this target a try next range trip.

1) - Your stock isn't collapsed at all. 2) - Your stock isn't in your shoulder at all. If you had it in the mid / collapsed position, or you had the gun even remotely tight against your shoulder, you'd have a ****** cheekweld unless you craned your neck. I know because I had about a dozen of them and sold them all. It's not a deal breaker ... but the fixed stock is noticeably more comfortable IMO when both are at full LOP. The collapsible stocks utility is obviously that it gets smaller ... it's not about comfort, it's about size. It's a personal preference ... After lots of use, I found I didn't need it.

Wipe the barrel with some rust preventative from time to time. The aluminum pieces obviously do not need it.

Good lord. I don't claim to be anything other than an ex-college kid who has shot a shitload of rounds, but take it from me ... all you need to keep your M4 working 100% is adequate lube and removal of carbon buildup whenever it becomes excessive. I literally went around ~7000 round without cleaning ... and when I did clean, all I noticed was some carbon around the bolt face and on the barrel extension. There is literally NO REASON, ever, to make a blunderbuss smooth barreled shotgun white glove clean ... and any guide that recommends WD40 should be taken with a huge grain of salt. The guy that runs box o truth is well respected by people whose opinion I respect ... but in this case, I'd say for sure to skip the tampons and WD40, to buy a bottle of dedicated gun lube, and call it a day. Please, if you take one thing from this forum regarding M4s ... Lube is 10000000x more important that removing all the "evil black stuff" from your gun. Anyone who says otherwise is either brainwashed or retarded. It's like comparing a wax job to an oil change when it comes to keeping your car running. One makes you feeeeeel good, the other actually keeps your machine running.

Well, it's pretty simple. Pop out the trigger group and twist the stock off. Line the stock up next to the recoil tube, then figure in a bit more for the metal plate that it screws into (which double as the sling loop). If you really want to see, get a screwdriver, take the two screws out holding on the buttpad, and look at how far you can go up before you hit something important.
-
Uhhh, check for yourself. I'd HOPE that you'd be taking the stock off before you go cutting it ... see where you should cut when you do.
-
Up to the bottom of the recoil tube where it threads in. So up until that metal / plate nut pretty much.
-
Brownells. That being said, it's a needless expense.
-
In before you purchase your fourth M4 in 6 months or so when you start making loot again. Oh, and this is a solid price and great gun, etc.
-
Nice! I love zombie movies, same as any gunowner.

"Benelli thumb" is a bunch of bullsh$t. Load properly and you will never have an issue. This means loading with your thumb perpendicular to the round, pushing it into the tube and stopping once the round is inserted and your thumb hits the receiver. People that complain about "benelli thumb" load with the tip of their thumb, with the round paralel to their thumb, and their thumb tip basically follows the round into the tube and then GASP they get sruck when the springloaded v cut lifter won't let their fat little finger back out. Please, don't get any unnecessary hackjob on a brand new m4 ... load the right way and you will laugh in wonder at those who manage to screw up such a simple thing so royally.

You're going to drive yourself insane if you continue to expect rifle level accuracy from a smoothbore 18.5 inch shotgun. You're not going to get anywhere near MOA accuracy, even with rifled slugs. You should be damn happy if you can shoot at a 100 yard target and get all the rounds on a 12x12 piece of paper.

I can't stand obnoxious needy dogs, so no dog for me. **** that. The place I am moving into is on the 4th floor (top floor) of a secure building in the nicest part of a somewhat large city ... and my bedroom is in a loft only accessible by a spiral staircase from my living room, which you have to travel down a hallway to get to ... and I can see the hallway from the balcony of my loft 15 feet in the air. I'm essentially on my own private 5th floor, which only I have access to. If you're breaking down my soon to be reinforced door, you're going to wake up a light sleeper such as myself. If you're trying to breach my loft by coming up my spiral staircase, you're going to get a lead shower while you're stuck in a narrow spiral area. Really, unless there are multiple threats or they are heavily armored, someone would need a decent supply of grenades to lob up to my position in order to hit me before I could hit them ... and even then, the walls of my building are 100 years old (stone building) and the property manager claims 16 inches thick ... I could dive into my closet and avoid the fragments pretty well. If all else fails, I'm biting a KaBar in my teeth, slinging my rifle and climbing pirate style out my skylight to make my final stand on the rooftop. I'd be vulnerable to snipers from other rooftops ... but seeing as how my building is the tallest around and the actual roof is 3 feet or so below the decorative exterior "walls", I'd have pretty damn good cover. The odds of any of this happening? About 0.0000000001%. The odds of someone trying to mug me while walking to my car, parking or doing something late at night? Significantly higher. If I ever have to engage someone, I can just about 100% guarantee it will be with my Glock 19, not my Benelli m4. Honestly, I don't even know why I still have an M4. I really just own one on principle at this point. I know it's a fantastic weapons system and I greatly enjoy the pride of ownership ... even if I have no real actual purpose or usage plan for the weapon, even in hypothetical, extremely unlikely scenarios. Eh, whatever. I suppose I could hold worse investments.

Look ... if you're even considering a 14" m4, then money is not your primary concern. This rules out a primary reason why many people buy an M2 as opposed to an M4. The M4 is superior to the M2 in pretty much every way ... the only thing the M2 really has on the M4 is that it's slightly lighter and has a slightly longer barrel option. Really, the only sane thing for you to do is to buy a standard 11707 m4 and use it while you wait for the NFA paperwork / 14 inch barrel purchase to happen. Once you have both, decide which (or both) you want to keep, and sell the other. I highly, highly doubt that if you get an m4 in either configuration, you will want an m2 for anything other than MAYBE a 3gun extended setup.
