The GG&G is better. It actually screws on/is a replacement unit instead of just being literally taped over the old one like the PMT one is.
-
The standard spring seems to work for 95% of people. If it doesn't, the m1 spring apparently fixes the issue. If only all problems were so easy/cheap to solve.

Ahhh D, your talk of $69 tubes and 1150 M4's brings it back. I made bank off those tubes.
-
Get the titanium one from progressive machine and tool. I've used them all and it is far and away the best.
-
There is NO advantage to the factory 7 round tube. I bought 4 of them and sold each one. The finish on them was nothing impressive at all, the tooling was rather coarse, and they in general did not justify the "OMG ITS A FACTORY PART IT MUST BE BETTER" stereotype. I'd say the opposite is true. Most of the aftermarket tubes that I've handled or looked at seem to be hands down better than the stock tubes. Not that it really matters. But to say paying a premium for a stock part is always worth it is foolish.

Uhh ... Is it not sold to me?
-
I'll buy it. I miss having one. PM me here or IM me. edit - emailed you also.

I expected you to ask about that ridiculous bi-pod

My miniscule 11k rounds isn't enough to satisfy you eh? Here's a thread I made on m4 receiver wear over time. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16695&highlight=m4+wear

2.75 or 3 inch OO buck Full power ~9 pellet Brand doesn't matter so much for HD, everything from wolf to dixie slugs will destroy an unarmored human at close range. That's my opinion. I personally just bought a bunch of federal 9 pellet 2.75 inch OO buck with flite control wad ... got it cheap, has always been high quality, etc. If in doubt, buy a box of each type, pattern them, see how they function in your gun, etc...

I want to say Yes, it works fine, but I can't remember 100%. I haven't used any low recoil buck in ages, there was one brand that wouldn't cycle, I forget which it was ...

I see what you did there.

Hey, he said old geezer, not me. I'm 23 and I feel like I'm already too old. And yes, I know some "old guys" that can shoot ridiculously well.
-
Get an M4. It's worth it. You won't regret it. Especially being an "old geezer" with "medical issues". It's the softest shooting 12 gauge I have ever shot.

Very good question. I have yet to replace any parts in 11k rounds. I don't think anyone else has either ... unless it was a problem that came from the factory or a self inflicted problem. I can't recall a single post I've read where a part has just ... worn out from use. I guess that's a really good thing, as there really aren't many replacement/repair parts available. You either have to go through Benelli for specific parts (I've never talked to their CS, but people say they are good), or try to find a vendor like numrich that has a limited supply to replacement parts (they can likely order more). Either way, as far as what parts you "need" ... you don't need any. The m4 will run fine for what seems like an indefinite amount of time if you take even decent care in shooting and maintaining it.

Definitely contact customer service, both of you, as something does not seem right at all here. I got a 11707 back when it was the "new" model, and it jammed a lot during the first ~200 or so rounds. It would fire 4 or 5 then have a fail to extract or load or something. I kept shooting and it all went away and hasn't jammed since in 11k rounds. It never did what you're describing though ... it would always cycle the majority of rounds, it never was a single shot. Definitely call CS and see what's up. Something is messed up in your gun.

It's not THAT hard. It's doable. If you're good at working with multiple small, spring loaded parts, you will be ok. Some people are good at some things, some people are good at other things. I'm generally really good at assembly/disassembly type things, most of my trouble in this mod came from GG&G's absolutely pathetic directions. They may as well have been written in chinese. Also I was the first person I knew or saw to do this, so I had no one giving me advice, pics, or anything. I was on new territory. If I had to do it again I would get it done much quicker without any scraping, I would think. But if you're worried, have a gunsmith do it.

I understand the concepts and fuels, I used to have a bunch of friends big into drag racing with ~9 second cars and all that. I've seen ethanol burn too.

I'll stick with my 93 octane petrol.
