  1. I'm not a fan. It's a bit large, and I like round buttons. Less snag. Less chance of an impact causing the button to rotate (the way the button is attached in the shell-release allows it to rotate if enough force is applied. A non-circular shape can easily cause this if struck, etc. WIth the round release button, rotation could theoretically still occur, but would be meaningless. I have sawn the assembly in half, and this rotation, SHOULD it occur, is NOT indicative of a pending or even remotely possible failure. Having your release button hit your charging handle could be...(I have not measured to see if this is possible, but it looks like it might be with GG&G).
  2. I had one of these years ago (2008?), and they work just fine. It's nothing fancy, but it is the same quality/construction/appearance as the factory 5-shot, just appropriate length. It's a cheap alternative to SOCOMGuy and Kip's tubes, but it is necessary if you are emulating the 100% military platform. YMMV, but for $120 they are a decent deal. Keep in mind that they don't help your 922r compliance cause, and you will need to replace the Spring (another $10-15 once shipped) if you want the most reliability possible (I tried to use the OEM spring and it resulted in multiple failures which were immediately resolved with the proper spring) If you want to spend more, get Kip's.
  3. It will likely turn black if lightly oiled. Parkerizing. Also keep in mind that batch-to-batch, parkerizing varies a bit sometimes.
  4. I don't see why it would not.
  5. I wear fully in-tact Mechanix gloves. They work great.
  6. I've never seen one, but honestly...wear gloves. You get a kb with the pistol or your hand snags something and you will be thankful. Gloves are good.
  7. What about a kick starter type program? You tell us what the design is, give us renderings, give us a legit timeline, keep us updated. In return, we pay you material and actual cost for the first units produced, now, which will be shipped to us as soon as they roll off the assy. line. Risk to us? We lose our money if it doesn't pan out. Risk to you? Noone who knows wants to deal with you. Benefits to us? Great product very soon vs. Waiting much longer, and at an at cost price. Benefit to you? Effectively a 0 percent interest loan (which will be "paid back" in product that is guaranteed "sold".) and the ability to get started that much sooner. I'm game to play...
  8. What is the purpose of the item? To allow purchase for you to charge the bolt. If it spins around, that's much less secure purchase than if it does not...and the argument "just hook it" makes a mockery of replacing the oem bolt handle.
  9. Use rocksett like scope glue, imo should work great.
  10. Over 25k rounds
  11. All 5 of mine have. I suspect OP's might have to, if they had tried more than 1 lot of 1 brand of ammo, which may or may not have been the issue, but no update has been given.
  12. Why would you want a free-wheeling knob? That negates the point of a larger knob with knurling. Honestly, if you cannot get Kip's, or one of the originals from "Toolman" (I actually tracked him down in Iraq, digitally, and he was sold out then, a couple years ago with no plans to make more), and the FFT you have does not make you happy, I'd use the OEM bolt handle. It's not a bad solution, and it's lighter than any of the other non Ti handles. The only reason I use a Ti handle is for the lower reciprocating off-axis mass. Otherwise, I see little benefit. A finger hooks either, nicely.
  13. The weight from steel to ti can be seen in cycling reliability with the m4 bolt handle. I agree on structural components and firing pins per your examples, but some other items do offer a functional advantage when made of ti.
  14. FFT consistently puts out parts that do not meet spec, and then acts like this is something that only cropped up in YOUR case and they have NEVER heard of it before. Here is someone else with the bolt-handle issues: http://www.survivalistboards.com/showpost.php?p=6544597&postcount=26 Here is me with their FCG disabling my M4:
  15. I honestly don't think it matters except regarding "feel" and personal pride. What helps the most with things like shotguns is controlling recoil. Consider how important follow-through is with birdshot. It is leaving the barrel at the same velocity as a slug. Follow-through is very important. By lightening the springs, you have created the potential for misfire/failure to fire. This is a MUCH MORE LIKELY scenario than making a meaningful difference in precision with what is at best a 2-4MOA weapon (the best I have pulled out of my M4s is around 2MOA, give or take, out to 50 yards.) Even the front sight makes precision a moot point. Needs optics. Honestly, I just don't see a functional advantage to your modifications, while I do see functional disadvantages, even if you did not alter geometry or hardness of the hammer and trigger surfaces.
  16. What was wrong, what did they do to fix it?
  17. No Geissele trigger setup available for the Benelli, just the hammer.
  18. Using said spring resulted in multiple failures directly attributed to said spring, when I tried it. You need more tension.
  19. They promptly cancelled my order/refunded my pending charge.
  20. This is why you don't file on ar fcgs.
  21. Yes. Noveske plate. Slightly file holes to match. Get pad that fits.
  22. Get the smaller dot. There is no way you are not going to see it just because you are sleepy and a larger dot cure this. Crank up a 3 MOA dot and it will bloom to 6+ MOA easily. I promise you won't somehow miss it.
  23. If you were a legitimate 1/8" from getting them all in there, http://freedomfightertactical.com/products-page/miscellaneous-benelli-m4-parts/the-freedom-fighter-tacticalwolff-gunsprings-premium-shotgun-spring/ They are slightly shorter (1 less coil), and the wire diameter is also slightly lesser. Tension will be less, but should be adequate.
