Note that his primary weapon held over 20 rounds without having to re-load...
-
It's not about "oh, I don't want to lift it it's so heavy", it's about being a split second slower between target transitions. Weight on the front of a firearm is the worst possible place regarding split times. The rail + VFG + light can easily add up to robbing some time between targets. It's something everyone must weigh for themselves.
-
That is subjective, for a home-defense weapon, it allows a light, and I doubt you will carry it far. For a patrol weapon or something you will be carrying around, etc. I think it adds a noticeable amount of weight. It does make the weapon harder to swing, but one assumes in a home-entry defense type situation you will already have the lines of fire mapped out and there won't be a whole lot of swinging the weapon around as you will just use your fatal funnel and let them come to you.

Buy the FFT tube, install it without lock-tite, then buy a CC tube and when it arrives, sell the one you don't like. Money doesn't appear to be an issue with you, and this will give you the chance to have the BEST product after fondling both. You will be able to re-coup most of your cost, and if you decide on the FFT over the carrier-comp, probably ALL of your cost as you can save someone wait time and they will probably pay for that convenience and buy from you at MSRP. I have flipped some stuff from Kip at MSRP before and was profusely thanked. Of if you want steel, SOCOMguy is the only game in town imo.
-
+1 Carriercomp's stuff is the best option in MY opinion. The bolt-handle is WITHOUT peer unless you have one of the Ti handles from Design Concepts, however, those are almost collector items now. The mag-tube is likely better than FFT's mag-tube, I have not held one from FFT, though, so that is a guess based on my experience with their bolt-handle. It was less than perfect. It peened slightly on the retaining surfaces within a hundred rounds. I didn't like that. Would it ever become significant? I don't know. I don't care. Sold it after full disclosure. I never contacted FFT about this "issue" and take no issue with them for it. SOCOMguy's tubes are also flawless based on hundreds upon hundreds (thousands?) of satisfied customers. They are made of steel. If you want a titanium tube, my advice is to buy Kip's. If you want a steel tube, buy SOCOMguy's. SOCOMguy was one of the very first sources of full-length mag tubes for the M4S90 and over the years I have NEVER!!! seen anything negative about his products. He is also a good person based on all I know of him. Kip is also a good guy, and even Kip in our personal conversations has said positive things about the owner of FFT. Bottom line? Read about the experiences of others, read about the products, and buy what YOU think best suites YOUR needs. I feel that FFT has ripped off of Kip some because they seem to have jumped on the Ti tube band wagon right after he did. They are an obvious copy/competitor. HOWEVER, Kip sometimes has long wait times, and back when FFT came about, his wait times were sometimes excruciating. FFT did not have those wait times. That made them different imo. They offered a similar product with much less barrier to entry. Being non-partisan, who could fault them? Gap...filled. On that note, Kip one-upped SOCOMguy (in some people's opinions) by offering an identical type of product out of a different material. Again, someone found a niche in the market and filled it. My point here is that I have dealt with FFT and CC (although not SOCOMguy, but his reputation is indisputable) and found them to all be stand-up when dealing with you, the customer. I drink Kip's kool-aid, but I will not call either of the other two a poor choice. That being said, I feel that Kip R&D's his products a lot more thoroughly than FFT does. FFT's business model is to rush the product to market, Kip's is to create perfection. FFT has had a few R&D type complaints over the years, Kip, as far as I know, has NEVER! had ANYONE say anything publicly about one of his products being sub-par. Same for SOCOMguy. Flawless reviews everywhere you look. Carriercomp gets all my business, FWIW, and I have NEVER been let down.

For a range gun, all the cool toys are nice. For something you intend to actually use for hunting/walking around plinking/SD, etc. I have found that a lot of doodads aren't worth their weight. The current toy I am building is a real PITA to trim weight on, but after my M4S90 experience, I am seriously critiquing every part. I feel like I'm building a track car or something.

Could be anything, but $100 is a good deal as long as it's not cardboard, lol
-
Why don't I sell you my SF handguard for $175 and you keep your meps? It's the latest iteration of the Surefire M80, and I have already releaved the back of it to fit against the M4S90's barrel ring for you. I did a pretty good job, I think. I have already cut the rail-covers up though, so you get what you get in regard to the little rubber rail-covers. For another $25 I will throw in a Tango Down shorty VFG (Black). Has never even been fired on the weapon, just attached for pix/fitment of the rear-rubber portions. Pix: Reason for sale is that I sold my M4S90 to finance my next project of absurd awesomeness which has been hinted at but not yet disclosed. (The last M4S90 was sold to help finance a new Z06, and I am at LEAST as pumped over my new project as the Z06).

Not necessary, but nice. All you do is hook the lip of the charging-handle (bolt-handle) under it and pull it out. To put it back in, you grasp it firmly with your thumb and index finger, compress it, and get it started, then with the palm of your hand tap it until it's seated in the mag-tube. No pliers are needed for this.

Any good C-stock deals to be had these days?
Unobtanium replied to Gallo Pazzesco's topic in Benelli
http://www.atf.gov/firearms/how-to/import-firearms-ammo-implements-of-war.html If it were just as easy as shipping them to yourself/having a relative ship from Italy, do you really think you would be one of the select few to pick up on that, or do you think the market price here would be very near what it is in Italy? -

Cool story, bro. Let us know how Customs goes. -
Looks like mine is spoken for, but you can always get in line in case the deal falls through. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_162/909619_.html&page=1 What you will need to make the M4 as fun as it can be: 7-shot mag-tube made in the US US made follower FFT handguards -or- Guissele hammer. The Collapsible stock is a CDI item unless you are going to run optics, and then it becomes very important. Or, if you are shorter (

Thanks all! I have one person who I feel might well go for it, but if that falls through, I am prepared to start a line. This is a sick-house deal, so take a number if the person who is interested currently backs off on it. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_162/909619_WTS__Benelli_M4S90_7_shot_mag_Geissele_hammer__Fired___100_times___1_485_shipped_CONUS_.html

Assumptions: Gun-crime only happens near Wal-Marts that sell guns. Police respond instantly, with no time-delay, and arrive as soon as called (time-warp?) Debunking of assumptions: Review violent crime-rates in England since firearms were restricted. Ask anyone who has ever called the police how long it took for them to get there. Consider how long your wife would hold out against a couple guys armed with bats. How do those time-frames match up? (I have "called" the police twice in my life) Occasion 1: I set off a burglar alarm while trying to get into a guy's shed who's lawn my grandpa and I were land-scaping while he was away, as he had inadvertantly left teh alarm set. Response time was 15 minutes. Occasion 2: Domestic dispute in my apartment complex involving an incoherently screaming woman, yelling man, and a screeching infant: Response time @3 minutes from when I called, and the operator said I was not the first one who had called, so MINIMUM 3 minutes assuming the operator was a liar...

The M2 isn't. Nor are lots of others.

I suppose living in Canada you have never had the rights I do, and it is impossible for you to understand. Like trying to explain "Blue" to someone born blind. You won't get it until someone mugs you or something, or someone you know. I sincerely hope that never happens, but once you know someone who gets killed who could have fought back but was instead un-armed, maybe your opinions will change. Maybe this can summarize my mindset better for you: http://www.killology.com/sheep_dog.htm
-
This entire mindset can be summed up in this manner: Responsible people's rights are being limited by those who are not, and do not wish to take responsibility. Further, the Canadian government doesn't want you to have a gun, and they have pumped all this propaganda into your minds. I support this argument by proposing to you that cars are much more lethal than guns when mis-used, and you are not required to lock your car keys up in a safe, are you? From the time I could walk I was taught gun safety. Instead of removing potentially dangerous if misused tools from the environment, education would be a better solution. Might as well just cut your son's pecker off so he doesn't catch any STD's, yeah? It's just about as rational. It is not irresponsible to have a weapon un-locked in your house an more than it is to have your car keys out on the dresser. If a thief takes that weapon and shoots someone it is no different than if he stole your car and hit someone, but you don't advocate putting your car keys in the safe when you go out for a jog, do you? When you can logically support the argument of why you think things should be the way you claim they are in your country, I am all for hearing it, but this business of "someone stole your gun and killed someone, don't you feel guilty?" **** no. Why should I? I'm not the criminal who mis-used the weapon. Start laying the blame where it belongs. Do you feel guilty that the money some cashier made due to you shopping at her store went to buy cocaine? Are you going to stop going to the store so you don't fuel her habit? I just can't get on board with your logic. It's so "victim" mindset. Even when someone steals YOUR STUFF, you are claiming you should feel guilt. Ridiculous. Now, I want you to lock your car-keys in your safe when they aren't in your pocket or actually in-use, okay? That way I can take your argument seriously. Fair? My beef isn't with you, just this victim mentality that people are being fed in your country, so don't take all of this use of the word "you" as so personal, okay? It's a "collective" you.

+1, I just wish the 590A1 had a NORMAL "heavy" barrel instead of that pry-bar.
-
A rotating bolt is superior because it enhances extraction by placing both longitudinal and axial force on a shell.
-
Truth be told, if it weren't for the gun-laws and health-care situation, I would move there.
-
Grow up in Canada, or move there? Over-all impression?
-
Benelli m4. It's a real gun.

Thought the ":P" made it pretty obvious. I thought wrong I guess.

Humor. Not everyone has a sense of it.
