  1. Depending on who you talk to... 2004-2005. C
  2. Heck... I might want to buy the finished product.
  3. It's a great price, and I'd buy it myself in a hot minute if I didn't already have two... but this particular forum has way more M4 guys than M2 guys, so I suggest you try and sell it on the Brian Enos forums...the place is swimming in M2 3-gun competitors. C
  4. I can think of only one distinct benefit to having a reflex on a shotgun, and that is where the shooter has focus issues. I find them beneficial on a handgun... but not yet on a shotgun. "Yet" being the operative word. C
  5. Good to see a LGS not gouging... $1200 is about MSRP as I recall.
  6. What ever happened to the ammo testing?
  7. Pop over to the Brian Enos shotgun technical forums... there a several threads on M2 latch mods, from polishing to deepening the 'U' notches to allow more flex in the latch. Start simple and work your way up to the more aggressive mods if needed. C
  8. A few years ago, heckler&kochp2000 posted a link here to a gent who fit a Supernova collapsible stock to one, after that... good luck finding much in the way of MR1 specific accessories. Although a typical well made Benelli piece, the gun is pretty much a sales failure for Benelli due to it's incompatibility with most common AR parts, and little to no sales to military... but you got one for a good price, so you did well in that regard with your future collectors item. Hang on to it and enjoy it... chances are it will be discontinued at some point and as with most things of that nature, it's actual value will only be realized years after it's no longer available. There is a Guns & Ammo Review here and another at Truth About Guns here. Cheers, C
  9. Probably... and I say probably, a M2 rail from Mesa Tactical would fit. C
  10. If you click this link and scroll down to "2013 Beretta / Benelli In-Field Armorer Course Schedule"... this perhaps hints to use by LEOs in the US. C
  11. Sure... no problem. Sapphire is in the mail, right? Did ya' know that Mesa Tactical is working on a 12.5" LOP straight stock... pretty much just like the PG Urbino, but no PG. It's called the "Apache Project" for now, with the first production version for the M4... then more to follow, with the M2 somewhere in the mix. C
  12. Alrighty then... I removed the stock from my M2T to determine this... so you owe me a bottle of Bombay Sapphire. The shim is .059" thick all the way around and marked 'B'. No cast, and according to the chart, a 60mm offset. The plate in the rear that goes under the nut is marked 'B-SX/A-DX" on on side and 'B-DX/A-SX" on the other side. The hole in the plate is offset in two directions from center. These parts come from what Benelli calls a "drop change kit". If you go to page 84 in the manual, what I'm using corresponds to drop change schedule 'B'. I have several other shims marked 'A, C, D and Z' and a plate marked 'C-DX/Z-SX' on one side and 'C-SX/Z-DX' on the other. What do I know about all this stuff? Not much... I am far away from a drop/cast shim expert. Even though I'm left handed, I didn't want any cast, so I just tossed shims in until I found one that when shouldered, brought the sights right to my eye with no cheek weld adjustments. Recommendation... get the whole drop change kit from Benelli, or who ever you can find that will sell you one... Brownells, Midway, some dude on the forums, and you can fit it to your requirements. Cheers, C
  13. Nope, not "remove and replace". You need appropriate shims and lock plates. See the schematic, items 3 & 8. Yes, I know, there are lots of 3 and 8 parts. Look in your owners manual to ID what you'll need. I might have the parts laying around... I'll take a look tomorrow. At least I can tell you what specific parts you need. C
  14. There are three on Armslist today. C
  15. If they ever decide to go after anyone... first, that'd be a whole lot of people. The cost to arrest and prosecute otherwise law abiding citizens would be astronomical. Second... with an otherwise stock SBE II, you will be the last guy they look at. If they come for me, when they ask about you, I'll say - "btmar?... WTF is btmar?" Cheers, C
  16. Honestly? Because no one gets too concerned about it. To my knowledge, no one has ever purposely, with criminal intent, attempted to skirt the law, nor has anyone has ever been arrested or prosecuted for doing so. C
  17. Here ya' go... 922r compliance. Your gun probably scores a 12... just so ya' know, so a tube and a follower should do it. Below is the old version Nordic tube/barrel info. 18. I've got 1 M2 for 3-gun that looks like it was used to stir rocks. Reminds me of... me.
  19. Nothing special, a pint of acetone and a small stiff brush will do you just fine, or most any spray, no rinse type degreaser. I use CRC QD electronic cleaner because it drys fast and is plastic safe. Auto parts or DIY stores will have most of these products. You can order a Wheeler "Fat Wrench" on-line for under $40, and sometimes find them at above stores and hobby shops. By the way... sidesaddle installation instructions can be found on the MT website in a PDF format... under "support" I think. Cheers, C
  20. bhunted pretty much covered it while I was still typing , but I'll explain it in a bit more detail. First, get a Wheeler "fat wrench" torque screwdriver if you don't already have one. You want to torque (15 in.lbs.) the screws, not run them in at random values. Next, make sure that when you install the rail that none of the screws protrude through into the receiver proper. The last time I talked to Mitch at MT, the screws were set to the right length so they would not, but still, check. The screws should be identical to the genuine Benelli screws, unless you bought your sidesaddle a few years ago and haven't used it until now. As behunted indicated, you can use either screw, as the rail should be identical dimensionally to the Benelli rail. Make sure the barrel can be removed and installed with no screw contact. If any one screw is too long, shorten it with a file and sandpaper. Get some blue 242 or other similar Loc-Tite. There should be a self-adhesive pad that goes onto the back of the sidesaddle to act as a receiver protector. Use it. Make sure the receiver, 1913 rail, screws and washers are clean and grease and oil free. Acetone, lacquer thinner, spray degreaser like electrical or brake clean will all work. Don't get high... m-kay. Install the sidesaddle with the proper torque (15 in.lbs.), using the special concave washers and Loc-tite. Install the sidesaddle and let it sit for 24 hours before using, giving the Loc-Tite time to cure. That's it. In the interests of full disclosure, these recommendations are from installation on a M2T... but the arrangement is the same as the M4. Cheers, C
  21. Nope... not doing anything wrong. The forend has a smaller diameter section in it that is a near light hand press fit over the tube. Pull and wiggle, pull and wiggle... it will come off. C
  22. OK... I see what's going on here. You want 1 shotgun to do it all, with perhaps no more than a barrel change. I understand that concept... I've been there, which is why I have 3 M2s and an M1. So... let me toss out an option. Buy a Benelli 21" Field (item #11026) with ComforTech stock. Why? 'Cause sighting down a rib is extremely fast... faster than iron sights, but not quite as accurate at longer distances. Compromise? Sure, but for you, this may be a better compromise than buying an M2T. Look at what 3-gunners use... 99% vent ribs. Why? Real fast and more than adequately accurate. For HD: Get a Urbino stock... cause you'll get one eventually anyway. Shortens the gun almost 2 inches. Makes overall length almost a wash with a stock M2T. Get what ever you like for mag tube, bolt handle, bolt release button... any other farkles that blow your skirt up. Get a sling... if you like them. Get a light with momentary activation and a good clamp mount. Don't be cheap here. Get a Hiviz or other fiber optic front sight. At night, if you've installed the gunlight in the right place, when you hit the button that fiber optic lights up like a freakin' LED. Have Fun! For everything else: Slap on the 26" barrel and what ever you can legally use for mag capacity. Keep the HiViz front sight... they are the shiz. Take off what ever you don't want to lug around hunting. Have more fun! Does that make a lick of sense to you? At least a consideration? I truly love M2Ts, but if someone was to ask for a gun that serves multiple purposes... the above is what I'd tell them. Cheers, C
  23. Personally... for an HD gun, I don't need an optic, I do fine with GR sights out to about 50 yds plus. As I don't shoot slugs at longer distances (that's why God made ARs), a dot sight is of limited value to me. Saying that, some find dot optics or holo/reflex sights to be a great advantage and prefer them over irons. Who am I to say it's wrong? Your call. An Eotech on an AR? Oh, he!! yes. Myself and many others here will say... "money better spent on shells and lots of practice". Others are entertained fitting as many farkles of dubious value as possible, turning a perfectly good 7 lb shotgun into a tac-ti-kool 12 lb shotgun. If your intention is to hunt with a shotgun, then perhaps an alternative is a Burris Speedbead, which will co-witness with GR sights, you won't need a high cheekweld... and you'll save a bunch of cash for the previously mentioned "money better spent" comment. Yes, I do have a bias that I can't easily hide, but really... it's your shotgun, what you do with it is your desires, your dollars. Have fun... and if you want to play sidewalk commando for awhile, go ahead. Everyone goes through that phase... some come out the other side and some like it so much they never leave. Cheers, C
  24. Congrats and welcome to the asylum. As you can see on this M4... nope, sights don't "get in the way" of a T1, but the T1 will block the sights. You may need a Urbino stock (or a tall gel comb insert if you get the comfortech stock, or a "universal comb riser" if you want to use the standard PG stock) with an adjustable cheek piece to get a proper cheek weld. All kinda depends on the individuals physical dimensions... you won't know until you get the T1 on and see where things end up. Cheers, C
