1. I ran out of 222. It's easy to do when all you have is a little tube.
2. Ha ha... the one picture I didn't look at. As far as I know, the screw problem was the only problem Mesa had with the rail/sidesaddles, and that was like over a year ago. I've not heard of any issues since then. I no longer use a sidesaddle, but for the time I had it on, I didn't have any problems. Now, I just have a 1913 rail (with nothing on it) and a 7 shell Nordic tube and clamp. As you know, with the M2 inertia system, they can get a little weird with light practice loads and too much "stuff" attached to the gun... so I keep the "tacti-cool" bits to a minimum. C
3. The Sidearmor stuff looks first rate, but the pricing for a rail, then a sidesaddle to finish it off seems a bit steep. You say a ball bearing retention? Is there a photo I can see that feature? I remember that loose screw issue Hookster. As I recall, Mesa had some screw problems from their vendor... so much so that they switched vendors and made exact copies of the genuine Benelli screws and taper washers. The rail/saddle I bought was just after they received their first batch of new screws. The most important things are to make sure the screws go flush or slightly less (like .003"-.005") than the inside of the receiver... and even with the lock washers, use blue loc-tite. C
4. If you look around or hang out here for awhile, someone, somewhere will have an MT for an M4 that they want to sell... usually for around $70-$80 for a 1913 rail version. Shell count is dependant on need and how much extra weight you want to lug around. Yes... the MT sidesaddles are made of aluminum, and HD is the perfect application. Cheep plastic ones from other makers are generally to be avoided. Do you have an extended or 1-piece mag tube yet, or still the stocker? It may be that with that upgrade, you might not feel a particular need to have a sidesaddle as well. I have a 6 shell, 1913 rail Mesa Tactical sidesaddle that I could sell... but it's for a M2. C
5. Being a lefty myself truckcop... I'd agree with your comments to the word. Back when I still had a good amount of feeling in my right hand, I did exactly as you described. Now, I have to flip the gun upside-down, then holding it with my right hand and the butt resting on my left shoulder, feed it with my left hand from a belt carrier. I just drop too many shells anymore to do it with my right hand, and not much of an advantage anymore with a sidesaddle. C
6. You didn't state for what gun. Assuming an M2T with a drilled and tapped receiver or an M4, Mesa Tactical makes a bolt-on sidesaddle that replaces your existing 1913 rail (on an M4) or attaches to the existing holes in an M2... and provides a 1913 rail. I believe they also make a 1913 rail sidesaddle for the Super Nova as well. Mesa Tactical, probably with only very limited argument , makes the best sidesaddles out there. (Although judging from truckcops example, you wouldn't know it) As to rapid reloading... that's another arguable point, but what is not arguable is that a sidesaddle allows you to keep your additional shells on the gun. For 3-gun competition I'd suggest belt mounted, spring-loaded shot shell "caddies"... and lots of practice to learn how to use them effectively. C
7. Ah well... "forest for the trees" and all that. If someone gave me a "free" aluminum follower... I'd be pretty happy. Actually, come to think of it, Nordic did give me a free aluminum follower once... and by golly, I was pretty darn happy! Cheers, C
8. This is a weird thread. The BEII is an inertia operated shotgun... no gas, period. Look at it this way, it's a upgrade part that everyone buys from the aftermarket... that you don't have to. C
9. You simply loosen the mag tube nut, slide the forend forward a bit, slip the Speedbar onto the receiver, slide the forend back and tighten down the mag tube nut. No modifications at all, although some have trimmed a little notch into the forend plastic to make the fit and operation a little smoother. Advantages: No screws to break or loosen, no wobbly or missing buttons due to broken or loose screws. Gun can be returned to original condition, with the exception of a few wear marks on the receiver and any material you felt you needed to remove from the forend, in the time it takes to write this. It works. Cheers, C
10. Yes... it's loc-tited. I usually use a heat gun rather than a torch. C
11. I have the DMW speedbar. I find it to work just fine and like the idea that it's neither permanent or requires modification to the gun... but, I'm left handed and hit the bar with my thumb, so perhaps my comments are of somewhat limited value. Just found out about a new bolt release button on the market, might be old news to some, but... Taran Tactical Innovations. C
12. Hey Shinyside... We aren't bashing your gun... we're just commenting on the logic of Beretta/Benelli thinking that the MR1 would be some sort of competition with the other rifles already in that category. The MR1 is a nice gun, but it's not a tested combat rifle with a huge aftermarket where you can turn it into anything you want. Hang on to it and enjoy it... chances are it will be discontinued at some point and as with most things of that nature, it's actual value will only be realized years after it's no longer available. C
13. The Beretta AR70/90 or a finished version of the ARX160 would have sold MUCH better... He!!, I'd have put an AR90 into my "serious consideration" category. C
14. Because most everyone that wants a semi-auto .223 rifle already has at least 1 AR or 551/556 or SCAR or AUG or ACR. It's a nice rifle, but a matter of too little too late IMO. This is why, at some point, practically every gunmaker joined the AR pattern bandwagon rather than fight it. C
15. Scroll down to "Thread Display Options" on the left side... then to "Show threads from the..." and click "From the Beginning" C
16. The only reason I bought an Urbino was to reduce LOP... so I could take a stance more squared to the target. And, I must admit, the Limbsaver pad is quite nice vs. the stock pad. C
17. Yer' welcome. Good folks ain't they. C
18. Creeper

hello everyone.

No link to sell "genuine" $99 iPh0nes yet? Let me know when... I need a new one.
19. Creeper

hello everyone.

Howdy Walter... welcome to the asylum. C
20. Shoot 'em for he runs now.... "Put on your red dress And then you go downtown now I said buy yourself a shotgun now We're gonna break it down baby now We're gonna load it up baby now And then you shoot him for he runs now I said, Shotgun shoot em for he runs now Do the jerk baby Do the jerk now Hey!" I remember that like it was yesterday... 47 years ago. C
21. Never experienced it with M1, M2 or SBE. I suppose it could happen, given enough dirt, etc etc... but even after being submerged in muddy water and sand, I've never had an inertia gun not go into battery. C
22. There's a gun somewhere in those photos? C
23. Pelican hard or Duluth Pack soft. Cheers, C
24. If you don't have a in.lb. torque wrench, spend a few bucks and get a Wheeler "FAT" Screwdriver. It's just an inexpensive adjustable torque screwdriver with an adjustment range of 10 to 65 in.lbs. They run about $40 and take 1/4 drive adapter bits. Cheers, C
25. If you look at the last photo in the second link provided by stockplayer, you can see a C-Rums mod'ed carrier. By the way, Kevin Holman in the Enos forum did a nice job on documentation of his latch mods. Cheers, C
