  1. I'm not sure I understand... you want to apply something to the clamp to barrel/mag tube contact surfaces? That's a new one on me... never heard that before. What is the purpose... to "cushion" the metal to metal interface? To somehow provide "grip"? Loc-tite blue (241/242) on the clamp threads yes... but silicone on the "clamping surfaces"... . Are you applying a small bead of silicone to the clamp and allowing it to cure completely... then installing it? Kind of like a gripper? I think what would happen is that it would decompose fairly quickly, leaving you with a loose clamp. Perhaps someone else who's heard of doing this can pop in and explain the logic behind it. Cheers, C
  2. Mmmm, we seem to have numbers all over the map here don't we. If you can only get 2-3 in your magazine, it's because you still have a limiter in it. The M2T as sold in the US is 5+1. If the Benelli tube is a 9+1 (a +4 extension), it's going to extend several inches past your muzzle, assuming the 18.5" M2T barrel length. Here's the chart from Nordic for lengths and such. Bear in mind that when I state my tube to be 8+1, I am including the original 5 shell capacity... that Nordic tube is actually considered a +3 using their referrence. I can't really comment from personal experiance on other tubes, other than the Nordic, which is a very high quality piece of kit. "Common wisdom" is that Tacstar, and a few of the other lower cost tubes are not of adequate quality or as reliable as the Nordic, Benelli and DMW. Those would be the three I'd run with... IMO. Cheers and Happy New Year! C
  3. Give us a shout when you get one Stompy... I'd be interested in an M2 one myself, for reasons same as yours.
  4. Hi Tasum, I run a Nordic 8+1 on my M2T. The tube sticks out a little bit past the barrel, but not so much that it looks odd. typically, I run 7+1... preferring not to jam all I can fit in the mag. I also use a Nordic magazine clamp... which is a handy place to mount a light and a QD sling swivel mount. Because the attaching nut is part of the Nordic tube, you don't use the Benelli nut at all. You do lose your stock front sling plate because of this... hence the reason for a QD on the magazine clamp. One nice feature of the Nordic tube, aside from the cool spiral nut, is the removable threaded end cap. As agm65ccip indicated, its a 5-10 minute affair to fit a Nordic tube... or most any other tube for that matter. Cheers, C
  5. I'd throw in motorcycle and wife... if you happen to have them. Come to think of it, someone may have loosened the screw on my wife a few weeks ago.
  6. I know "boys will be boys" and all that, but it takes a pretty ignorant fool to feel that it's OK to mess with another man's gun... assuming that's what occurred here. At one of the ranges I shoot at, it would be grounds for expulsion. C
  7. Are you referring to the sling plate that comes in the buttstock of an M2 Tactical... Seen on page 109 thru 113 of the Benelli M2 manual? C
  8. IMO... I would lean more towards a good entry level, spring piston, break-barrel .177 cal pellet rifle. As they are single shot, the shooter learns the patience and skill to make every shot count. Also, they are "real" guns. Potentially as lethal as a centerfire gun. The youngster is taught that this is not a toy, not a plaything... and only to be used, or even handled, with adult supervision. A side benefit is the adult can enjoy shooting an accurate mid-powered air rifle as much as a child... if not more so. Again, IMO... to teach a child care, common sense and respect for real weapons, they have to learn with real weapons. Toys like Airsoft guns might only serve to confuse them into thinking that everything is an Airsoft. I'm in my 50s, but own and take great pleasure in shooting my air rifles... almost every week I take a few shots in the lower meadow of my property. Cheers, C
  9. This may be a dumb question, but if you don't mind dumb questions... what puts you off about the ported barrel? C
  10. What the ****... go ahead and get one. It's only money, and if you don't like it, you can probably sell it for what you have in it. Offer 'em $1600 and see if they bite. C
  11. Duh... just realized you wern't asking how to switch to a left-hand safety, but rather info on the DMW safety. So, ah... nevermind. C
  12. I've not been scouring the interweb for cool farkles lately, so the DMW speedbar is a new one for me... very cool. I think I'll try one on my M2. Thanks, C
  13. I'll be in the "wait and see" crowd. The downside to this or any "new" .223 semi-auto is that it has to compete with the AR... and the huge aftermarket that supports it. C
  14. Yes... You may have to try several different sabots to find the best accuracy with your particular set-up. On the choke tube.com site, they brag that their "Sabot Express" rifled choke is more accurate than a rifled barrel. C

    Help Please

Ah... I haven't used them personally, but most everyone I know that hunts deer with a rifled barrel shotgun uses the Remington Premier AccuTip Bonded Sabot Slugs. The Federal Barnes expander is suppose to be very good as well. I don't think you can go wrong with any Fed or Rem sabots. The smaller game may be more about what's on sale than what's considered the "best". I use Baschieri & Pellagri (B&P USA), but I buy them direct by the case. C

    Help Please

Lots of choices there. Knowing what your intended uses are would help narrow down the selection. And... welcome to the forums. C
  17. Ah well, you know how it is, some like 'em... some, not so much. "Horses for courses" and all that jazz. Have fun with it, C
  18. Yes, the body can be separated from the base mount... it would be a PITA if you had to yank the whole thing to change batteries for example. I don't own one, but I've used a few guns fit with them, and think they're a good option for many hunters wanting a reflex dot optic. Apparently, it won a NRA magazine award for "optic of the year". Pistol Grip Stock

My M2T has the PG stock... I'd like to try a standard stock someday, as that's what I have a longer duration of familiarity with. I sometimes feel that the PG stock is less, ah... ergonomic for me. Might be a muscle memory thing, the PG just doesn't feel right. Not bad, just not right. C
  20. The Fiocchi should run thru the M4 fine, and the M2 as well... if it's broken in and doesn't have much in the way of weighty accessories attached to it. C

    Benelli Newbie

That's because it was made back when H&K was the sole distributor of the Benelli brand shotguns in the US... from the mid 1980's thru 1994. Benelli terminated the relationship and has been in their own US facilities since that time. To an H&K collector, it might be a plus, to others, it means little to nothing... at least that's my take, and I'm a "steel" H&K handgun collector. C

    Benelli Newbie

An absolutely brilliant deal... in the sense that, how come I never run into these kind of deals? C
  23. Not my gun... just noticed it on Norhtwest Firearms Forums. C
  24. Would this be called the "Zombie Combo"?
  25. Yes, left eye dominate... so from a "competition at the bench" perspective, I prefer this combination as it allows me to keep my right eye open to watch wind flags. C
