Winchester 3"/1 oz. slug/1,760 fps muzzle velocity - yeehaw
Sukhoi_fan replied to Sukhoi_fan's topic in Benelli
Thanks for that feedback Uno. -
It's sad that moneychangers have absolutely gutted two fine companies, even stripping the heart and soul from them. I'm a long time Marlin lever gun fan myself.
-
Has anyone used these? On the box it says they're made for smooth bore barrels. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/winchester-super-x-slugs-12-gauge-x123rs15-rifled-slug-3-1-ozs-5-rounds.aspx?a=202724

Makes little difference what the MSRP is, it's Remington crap*. You couldn't give me one. *Obviously Remington hasn't always been crap, it's just since the investment banksters/speculator swine have taken over that Remington (and Marlin, et al.) has turned to crap.

You're welcome. I forgot to mention - from my experience when you subject elastic material to 90+ degree temperatures, the more exposure the quicker the elastic gives out over time - one summer in your car or truck in the southern regions will kill the elastic on your bandolier. So for the kit in your car you may want to run the cheaper bandolier. FYI
-
I bought a low end bandolier (AIM Sports/holds 55 rounds) and a high end bandolier (Urban E.R.T./holds 50 rounds). They both serve the purpose, however as you can imagine the low end one has less material. The downside to the AIM Sports bandolier is the girth which is 53". The two significant positives to the Urban E.R.T. is that there's extra material which isn't covered by the elastic shell holder so that when over your shoulder the bandolier does not interfere with shouldering your shotgun (whereas a bandolier which has the shell holders all the way to the end definitely will); the other advantage over the AIM Sports bandolier is the girth, the Urban E.R.T. has a girth of 62" which I'm certain would be very helpful when suited up with body armor, or if one is on the large side. The Urban E.R.T. is pricey, that's for sure, but I'm convinced it's worth it. http://www.urbanertslings.com/tacoshbafor1.html I've got five different types of rounds on my bandoliers: (by round count) #4 buck, Ranger Low Recoil 00, Federal 000 (I really like 000), Dupleks 028, and BRI sabots. Each has its own feel on the ends and each type is placed in the same locations on each bandolier so I can feel the difference even in the dark while under stressfire. I've positioned them all brass down for ease of use. I'm still working it out, but since I've been in a situation where I only had a single round left at the end of the incident I have this thing about not running out of ammo. For my purposes I want something I can grab and go with in an instant. I've tried it and I could carry four bandoliers on my shoulders ok, but that is a bit much of a load for the purposes of speed and movement so I've settled on two bandoliers - given enough time to grab two. Each of my shotguns has it own ready to go kit, although I'm still working out the details, hence this thread to fish for some more ideas.

First of all I'd like to express my appreciation for those of you who never rest and spare no expense in your pursuit of getting your tactical shotgun and related kit 'just right'. I could start naming names, however I'm sure I'd leave someone out (and I certainly don't mean to) - but you guys know who you are. I've very interested in hearing the different solutions some of you have come up with for carrying the most ammo possible while nominally impeding movement. I will share my thoughts later in this thread, as my own solutions are still evolving. I will say this - I've yet to find a tactical shotgun vest which carries enough ammo to keep me happy and safe. TIA

GEISSELE trigger hammer VS stock trigger hammer
Sukhoi_fan replied to Reggie_375RGR's topic in Benelli
Welcome to the forum Reggie. Most folks install the Geissele hammer for 922® compliance, not because it's a vast improvement over the OEM hammer. Where are you able to find a Geissele hammer these days anyway? Geissele's webpage says out of stock. ETA: I called Geissele and inquired as to when their Benelli M4 hammers will be available again and the fellow who answered the phone said, "...because of everything going on, late April." -
I hear that. And not only with respect to recoil, that extra muzzle flash is a problem as well.
-
As I responded to your PM, no I don't, the one stock I had went with the 121M1 when I sold it. Try calling Choate Machine and Tool to see if they have any left.
-
That's because there's a roll pin in that hole. That roll pin should be punched out, not drilled. Don't ask how I know. Unfortunately the KZ sling adapter won't work with a c-stock.
-
Yeah, I'd say that's a critical part and I wouldn't be firing it with that barrel ring broken. I'd see if you can get someone to weld it up/repair it for you. 10-12 years ago there were quite a few 121 M1 NOS replacement barrels floating around for about $100-110. I picked up a spare at that time. I haven't seen any for several years. When I sold my 121 M1 I advertised the NOS replacement barrel I had for it and someone immediately snatched it up (his father had gotten a mud plug in the barrel of his 121 M1 and that resulted in a split barrel). The fellow who bought that replacement barrel from me advised me that he'd been looking for months for a replacement barrel - he just happened onto the site where I had it listed, otherwise he'd still be looking I'm sure.
-
Welcome Racerx211. I'd advise against using slugs unless you want to be cleaning lead out of the barrel. Those 3" rounds will be fine for breaking it in. Be sure you lube it all well (including the recoil link on both ends and except for the pistons) before you shoot it.

It's just a semi-auto pistol (which I'm sure qualifies as C&R), would could possibly be 'illegal' about it???

What are the chances Benelli will replace a defective M1014 stock?
Sukhoi_fan replied to Sukhoi_fan's topic in Benelli
Well Rob at Benelli fixed me up with a new retaining pin and now my M1014 c-stock is functioning precisely as it was intended. Thanks Rob! (and I'm not even the original owner) -
On another front, check this out - http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/83R/billtext/html/HB00928I.htm Everyone in Texas needs to contact their state representatives and senators ESPECIALLY if you live in Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Austin and show their support for HB928.

Someone made $100 off of a ProMag c-stock on feebay

So far...however with the Communists on a roll with their coup underway I wouldn't be so quick to relax. -

Sukhoi_fan replied to Sukhoi_fan's topic in Benelli
Please advise on the interchangeability of the small parts (retaining pins, plunger, springs) when you get a chance. If the small parts can be swapped out with genuine Benelli parts I can see it as a viable alternative (so long as the small parts are swapped out for reliability purposes). TIA -
The ultimate goal is to cause/start conflict - the common Communist tactic. DHS didn't recently buy 1.6 billion bullets banned by the laws of war for target practice.
-
Then cops have no need for them, huh?

Sukhoi_fan replied to Sukhoi_fan's topic in Benelli
Personally, after having some experience with the c-stock I'm not seeing what the draw is short of being tacticool (well, maybe with respect to wearing body armor, etc.). Fully collapsed only saves about five inches OAL. I've got two atm, gonna sell one* (since I'd have to sink even more money into acquiring a 3 position receiver extension for the M1014) and may part with the other if I find I can quickly get target acquisition with my T-1 (over an ARMS #31 mount) using the standard PG stock (plus I want to utilize the KZ sling plate which cannot be used on the c-stock configuration). *already have a tentative deal with another forum member so it's not available -

Sukhoi_fan replied to Sukhoi_fan's topic in Benelli
Frankly that would be the least of my concerns with the ProMag c-stock. The OEM Benelli c-stock is bona fide mil spec, the Chinese knock-off isn't, and after discovering how little pressure/impact it takes for a c-stock to fully collapse when it shouldn't* I'd shy away from anything that would undermine the effectiveness of a combat shotgun. *I'm referring to the loss/failure of that retaining pin in the c-stock which runs perpendicular to the receiver extension - I *know* how good the steel is in the M4 where it's crucial, I have zero confidence in a product obviously (at least to me) hecho en Chino. ETA: And FWIW everybody else CLEARLY marks their 922® compliance parts 'made in the US', why doesn't ProMag in this instance??? I submit because they can't import them that way.
