You’re right. My searched showed some, but they weren’t actually for the Vinci even though they came up. Have you thoroughly disassembled and cleaned it? Tension on the hammer feels normal? Any aftermarket modifications done to it including buttpads? Have you tried different lubricants? Do you have an idea of how many rounds have been fired thru it?

Any chance a Wolff extra power recoil spring has been installed?
-
What about using a Trijicon SRO which sits a little higher and a Scalarworks Mount? And don’t they sell spacers for the RMR mounts that would fit between the RMR and the mount?
-
Yep. I’d just have it sent to a friend or whatever. But I found I have no need for their products anyway. Impact Weapon Components are far superior light mounts. Scalarworks mounts are better optic mounts. I just put a Schmidt and Bender 5-25x56 optic in one of their ring mounts for an AR10 in 6.5 Creedmoor. It was by far the easiest mounting I have ever done and by far the lightest mount for the application.

I hear ya. If designed correctly, the spring choice won’t cause failures, it will just not be as effective as running a different weight. When the bolt carrier slams to the end of the plunger, it starts to engage the internal spring buffer. Too soft, and the the moving carrier just slams into the end of the recoil tube. Too stiff and it is like hitting the bottom as well.

Makes sense to want a higher mount. A higher mount works better with the collapsible stock’s middle position too. Larue doesn’t use resellers and I’m banned from buying their products until doomsday. An out of country (Australia) client of mine ordered items from Larue with the intent to drop ship them to me and I guess they blocked the shipment. I think it was something stupid like one of their weapon light quick detach mounts. Apparently that violated their company rules. Some time later I attempted to place an order and it was rejected. When I called them to ask what the problem was they told me about what had occurred and left no way to resolve the issue. I asked if I had the guy in Australia order stuff to Mark Larue if they’d ban Mark too, I got no reply. I’ve met Mark several times at Shotshow and other venues and have gotten along with him great. My ban led me look for alternatives that arguably are better products. So no big loss for me.

The Larue Mount I have was for the Aimpoint T1/T2. Same design issues. Most have good luck with the Carriercomp spring. It was made by Wolff also, so it’s a quality piece. One of my has been left loaded for a decade now and run thru around 10k rounds without any issues.

There are a bunch of good options out there. Sometimes they have tolerance stacking issues if it is applied thick. I did a M4 in nickel boron with WMD Guns back around 2013. I had a hell of a time fitting all those parts back together.

It’ll depend on the brand of ammo. Some ammo runs longer than the spec which can reduce capacity. Some trim springs to give a little more room, but I usually avoid this myself. Setting the spring retainer at the maximum height will help give you more room. Some even leave the clip out.

You’ll be impressed when it comes in. The threading done on the Carriercomp tube will make the factory threading look like the threads on a sewer pipe.
-
You could have it plated, then have the surface blasted and Cerakoted whatever color you want. It’ll just add to the cost.
-
When I had the Larue Mount, I tightened the lever really tight and it kept it from tearing it up. The Sync rail is a better setup in my experience. You can’t get any better than the Carriercomp tube. They custom blend the Cerakote finish to match the factory barrel. It matches better than the OEM tubes.

I ordered one from gunbroker to try out. Didn’t want to have to wait for shipping from Greece.

The sight channel cut into the picatinny rail doesn’t leave much aluminum on the mounting lug to sit against. The 12 gauge recoil is pretty rough and will cause damage. This is why Carriercomp and FFT made a reproduction rail with full picatinny rail lugs.
-
The factory top rail will chew up that Larue Mount. You’d need the FFT reproduction rail or some other full lug rail to work. I prefer the simpler Scalarworks Sync rail.

The tool for removing the stock retaining screw looks like a nice tool to have.
-
Correct on the mounting. Screws in from beneath the IWC mount. How easy does the light pivot on that mount? Can it shoot loose and start flopping?
-
Never messed with a pro series Scout light. It doesn’t look like you can remove the mount from the light body. What I would do is buy a Modlite 18650 replacement body for your DF model light. The lamp head and tailcap will fit right on. https://modlite.com/collections/light-bodies/products/modlite-18650-body

I never got the appeal of the M300 unless you had an extremely short firearm. Even if you have the 14” entry M4, the M600 will fit better. With the M4, you benefit by having the longer light since it reduces barrel shadowing. If you just want the lower output, there are plenty of old Scout lamps that have much lower outputs.

Anyone tried one of these yet? https://www.dpmsystems.com/benellim4-super-90-m1014-12-gauge-4-user-adjustable-settings/

Thanks for the shout out. If you run into any issues during the install, hit me up and I can walk you through any trouble spots. Finding a 3 position receiver extension right now is tough. People are buying up the M1014''s that have the collapsible stocks and putting a 3 position tube in to them.

M4 Owners- do you have a preferred sling?

Tell me about it. I have three of them! Never add up totals. -

I see them listed on eBay from time to time new. There are also loads of resellers like Brownells and such. I hear you though, I spent all my Trump bucks too. -

Look up GG&G bolt releases. It’s an OEM release drilled and tapped for their larger pad.
