  1. I bought one of those as well early on. Hated it!!! Ended up selling it for $25 shipped. Carriercomp! All. The. Way.

Honestly, the 14" is about the limit to what I would consider viable for its intended use......otherwise, it's basically a semi auto Serbu Shorty that would most likely need port modification for reliable cycling. Also, recoil in the 14" is noticeably more than the 18.5" model. I love my 14" but really wouldn't want anything shorter after using it for a while.

Yep......this. I have handled the Surefire and didn't really care for it. I'm a KISS kind of guy when it comes to these things and about the only thing else I'll add is a sling.

Ha! The only thing better than 1 shorty M4 is 2!
  5. lol I thought it was funny so no worries. Yes it acts more like a brake and I don't really know what I think. Honestly I can't tell much of a difference with it. I think the added length that it gives the weapon is excessive but that's just me. I know it's a direct copy of the OEM version from Benelli although I don't even know if those are still being made. I hardly ever use mine unless someone else shooting wants to try it but I'd be hard pressed to sell it given my fondness for Kip and his products.

    Ammo prices?

    I'm getting the Remington 2 3/4" 9 pellet 00 for $19.99/25 locally.
  7. Cool. I am curious though regarding the FFT due to the fact that they advertise it's Rockwell hardness at 36. I'm assuming it's 6AL-4V since that is what that particular alloy comes in at. I've seen that pic of your DC bolt handle before and am curious to see if the FFT fares any different. I'm assuming that it won't but am curious nonetheless. The one thing I wish these guys would do is make it known that these will spin if you apply enough force. They are not technically spinners like the GG&G but they will rotate none the less. The OEM handle is difficult to rotate just because of it's small OD but the 1/2" ones from CC and FFT will rotate fairly easy due to the positive grip from the knurling. I suspect more deformation occurs from that and the removal versus being engaged in the bolt.
  8. I assume you have this in mind but it would be great to get a side by side wear comparison on the FFT versus the Carriercomp units.
  9. Shoot the hot stuff for at least 200 rounds with the weapon WET. The surfaces will get burnished and the springs broken in and you will be good to go.
  10. Run it so wet that you have excess coming out of the TG retaining pin hole and wherever else. I mean wet. I really like the benelli lube but clp or anything like that will work. The put a couple hundred rounds through it wet like that and you should be good to go.
  11. Aluminum on aluminum like that particular scenario could be bad news..........galling.
  12. There is also the 11722 which is the Factory Entry (SBS) but with the fixed pistol grip stock instead of the OEM C-stock like on the 11724.
  13. Or you could just get the entry model and not worry about chokes on a tactical shotgun.

    M4 ammo

Run it wet and shoot HP loads for the first 100 or so. Then clean, re lube and try some cheap target stuff. I have a 1oz handload I use in both my M4's with no issues.
  16. I got my !4" Entry M4 for $1769 shipped. Course, I had to wait almost two years.
  17. +2 Remington has destroyed Marlin. I'm a lever guy through and through and have 4 pre-Remlin rifles that I adore. Everything I've seen since I wouldn't use as a fence post and AFAIAC, Remington can pound sand.
  18. Great info man. Thanks for that Urban Slings link......I'll be ordering a couple of those.
  19. There have been reports that the Geisselle hammer is a little tighter in tolerance than the factory or FFT versions. When I installed my two, I didn't bother measuring them but I did notice that the Geisselle hammer fit more snugly around the pin. There wasn't any hang up at all but there was less side/side play. I think it's a worthy upgrade even if 922 wasn't an issue.
  20. lol that's all you got? You got bigger fish to fry than giving crap to this guy..........or are you a CA gun grabber too.?
