  1. That's common sense, this is supposed to be a fun thread Dr. Spock... Anybody can shoot a dog . But as the post is titled...."First line of defense". I never expect my dog to be a hero, that's for sure. If I did, I wouldn't be armed now would I?
  2. Before my benelli comes into play, a perpetrator will have to punch through my defenses. I have a feeling I'll never need the M4 but it's still a good thing to have. What defenses do you have before you bust out the Benelli? Here's mine...
  3. I would go with a US made full tube just because of that stupid 922r BS. Plus you can get Titanium to lighten up your gun some.
  4. Cause a long day of shooting non-cheap **** ammo can get rather expensive....
  5. If they're that much smaller than normal size, what part of the shell takes the loss? And why would somebody want half asssed rounds in their gun just to have more half asssed rounds? The only use I can think of for one of these is to show it to my 5' tall wife and try to convince her to finally shoot my shotgun.
  6. I wouldn't mind trading my standard pistol grip stock for a standard non-pistol grip.
  7. I know what you mean, I was holding out buying a c stock cause I wanted a good deal but after a while I finally caved and bought one anyway. About a month before botach had their stocks for $225 or whatever they were selling for. Oh well. I like the gun a lot more with this stock so it was worth it.
  8. I've tried them all. IMO the reduced recoil isn't worth it in an M4. They cycle fine without a problem. But they do seem a bit slower, not that it really matters. I would lean towards the reduced recoil in a pump HD gun but the M4 is smooth enough to not need it. I'm sticking with standard OO buck.
  9. Yes, use the handle, it's a little tough the first couple times. Push it with the handle and then you can pull it with the other side of the handle with that little lip, it might help to fondle the trigger group a little to help it along. The pin won't come all the way out so once it's almost all the way out and sticking out the other side you should be able to remove the trigger group. Congrats on your C stock! I know you've been waiting a long time for one.
  10. It's not really needed but for a little extra $ it's worth it. You'll save on weight with the ti tube. When you subtract the weight saved with the ti tube and add the weight of 2 extra shells you're pretty much right back where you started which is fine by me. You might change your mind later and add a light and mount which will probably be mounted somewhere towards the front of the gun. Anything you can do to reduce the weight in front is a good idea. I've never favored front-heavy guns but that's just me.
  11. I'm fine with that. It doesn't look too bad and since I'm not trying to win a beauty contest it doesn't really matter. Well, I guess it would if it was terribly ugly. Thanks for the input.
  12. I'm really liking this thing. I can't afford it but I think I'll order me one anyway. I didn't know you could get just the top rail and shell holder without the rest of the setup. I was waiting for a better rail and wasn't planning on getting a shell holder but I guess it wouldn't hurt to have one laying around just in case, especially on that can be easily taken on/off. Any idea what the weight is?

    MY M4

Not at the moment, I took those with my phone cause I can't seem to find my camera.
  14. With the 11707 you still have the option of replacing the stock with a collapsible stock that will collapse like it should. You can't do that with a 1014 unless you replace the recoil tube. I also had a choice when I bought mine and I went with the 11707 for that reason. Also, I'm not a gun collector, I wanted the M4 because of what it is and I don't want to be too paranoid about shooting it or getting a little scratch on it like I would be with a limited edition 1014. I didn't want the collector value burden.
  15. That's a good deal for the M1014. Is the second gun a 11707? What stock is on the second gun? Would you plan on putting a collapsible stock on the M1014?
  16. Moderators? What moderators? The moderators here are the best there is. I'm not kissing ass, I speak from experiencing other forums and their moderators.

    MY M4

It's actually a comfortable reach with my forward index finger to switch the light/laser on/off. Or just press forward for momentary light. I was thinking I'd need a switch for it but it worked out a lot better than I thought it would without the switch. Saved me about $150.

    MY M4

The only issue I have with it is that I need a tool to take it off. Since it's mounted to the mag tube I need a tool to take my gun apart. Other than that I really like it. I'm considering that new sidearmor rail. Pricey but it's what I've been waiting for.
  19. My left hand sitting in it's natural position fits right where it should and i can extend my fore finger forward to control the light. My hand sits pretty much in the center of the foregrip.
  20. I like that setup but the only thing about it that I have a problem with is that I need a tool to remove the KZ light mount. Unfortunately it has to be removed to disassemble the weapon.
  21. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23276 Here's where I put mine. I wanted it on the bottom rather than on the side. Easier to round corners and easy to reach with my forefinger.

    MY M4

One thing that I've secured with the purchase and upgrades of my M4 is the right to show off. I have yet to post some pics of my personalized M4 so here it is.... Kip's Ti Tube Meprolight Night Sights Surefire X400 Light/Laser KZ 3-rail mount Specter Gear sling (not pictured) Still waiting on Kip's bolt handle
  23. Exactly. Take your time. Put a LOT of thought into it and make sure you know exactly what you want before you spend any money. Shoot a lot in the meantime, it will probably change your mind about a few things. If I were you I'd first buy a full length mag tube. Carriercomp has the best tubes IMO and you can't go wrong with them. I racked my brain on my setup before I started buying stuff and I'm glad I did, I only have extra parts that came with the gun. NO bought parts laying around that I changed my mind about. Keep it simple.
  24. http://www.carriercomp.com The best of the best. No reason to put anything other than the best on your best of the best M4!
