  1. This is where reality shows come from.
  2. Your biceps might be too big.
  3. Keep the posts comin! This is one of the most exciting threads I've seen yet!
  4. I hope you find your M4. It's out there somewhere!
  5. M1014. Sell some of those valuable guns and buy some ammo. Unless you're rich, you can send me that ammo!!!!!!!
  6. No. Sorry. When you replace the magazine to a 7 rounder your gun goes from being allowed 13 foreign parts to 10 foreign parts. Get a US made magazine and you have 12 foreign parts. Get a US made follower and you now have 11. Get a US made foregrip and now you're at 10!! Unfortunately for the C Stock, some idiot in charge decided to call that part (which is 1 part number) 2 parts. Can you order these 2 parts separately? I don't think so. But this person is wiser than us and he knows what's best. So switching to the C Stock is adding another foreign part, now you're back to 11. And with a gun that's not 922r complaint, you WILL hurt yourself and those around you because it's simply too much gun for the average citizen like you and me. As far as I know, there are no other US made parts to replace foreign parts with. Somebody should get on that right away. Thanks. I'm on the lookout for a Benelli field stock. So I can keep that stock on when I'm out back shooting and I won't have any problems. I probably wouldn't have any problems anyway but since the government is claiming ownership of rain and seeds now I wouldn't put anything past them. Another option would be to not buy a full length mag tube and buy a +2 extension. You could very easily swap out the extensions and jump back and forth between good and evil. You could take a stock M4 Shotgun and replace the standard pistol grip stock with the C Stock and replace the follower and you're good to go.
  7. Ghost loading takes practice. Once you practice it enough you'll be able to get it every time without fumbling around with the bolt and all that. One thing I've noticed is when you put that shell on the rail you want it pushed back as far as you can get it. Otherwise when you pull the bolt back and eject that first shell the bolt might stick and not want to go forward on it's own, requiring a little bump. I've only had this issue when cycling manually, never when actually shooting. And from what I've seen, they put that channel in the rail so it doesn't intrude in your ghost ring sights when you're aiming;).
  8. You should have kept the fake extension. If you keep that on your gun, you probably won't hurt yourself or anybody else. The government told me that. Having that 7 round magazine is highly dangerous and should be left to law enforcement and military personnel. I really hope you're not gonna put the C-Stock on. If you do, God help us all. Good luck!
  9. I have a specter gear 2 point sling. It's in my gun bag waiting for it's day. When will it's day arrive you may be asking.... there will be a day when carrying a gun becomes necessary. I'll put my sling on and I'll put my 6 shot side saddle on. Otherwise my M4 is just a grab and go HD gun and I like to keep it as simple as possible. Some may argue that having a sling will keep an intruder from stripping you of your gun. That is true, a sling could keep your gun on you rather than somebody else. But personal preference would rather not have a sling, but that's just me. By the way, I put the sling and side saddle on often when shooting to get the practice that is NECESSARY to be as effective as I can be should the need arise. And I will not throw my M4 to the ground unless I'm dead beside it.
  10. Whenever you upgrade a part, keep the old part.
  11. Screw that, go with the mag extension! And get a limiter to keep you within the limits of the law. When it's not hunting season, it'll make a great HD gun.
  12. I disagree. Not that I think you're smarter than he is because I don't know you and I don't know him. But having a higher degree than somebody else does not make one smarter. Einstein and many other geniuses never graduated highschool. This on the other hand, I do agree with!
  13. Well it all works the same but having the red dot on the side rather than the red tip is completely useless and misleading since the dot could be gone when the hammer is still cocked and the tip is still exposed (completely defeating the entire purpose of the warning). Being that the entire purpose of the red is a warning that the hammer is cocked, my gun is lying to me (sometimes). If it was on the tip like the manual says it would still be exposed every time the hammer is cocked until the gun was dry fired and the hammer is not cocked, then the entire thing is gone and it would allllll make sense. Somebody put the red in the wrong place. In all fairness, my gun would be better off with no red at all so it would not mislead the user. If somebody else is shooting my gun and asks me what the red dot is for, I guess I'll tell him to forget the red dot, it's useless and it means nothing. That is until I get some red paint and paint the tip like it's supposed to be. I know this is being beaten to death and I do understand the operation of the gun, I just don't understand why the red is in the wrong. That is all, carry on.
  14. If you store them muzzle down the darn gun won't be able to breath. You'd pick it up and it'll be dead. And we all know a dead gun is useless. On the other hand, pointing it up is pointing it towards heaven. God lives in heaven..... You decide.
  15. I think I found the discrepancy. On the cartridge drop lever is a red dot. The dot is not on the "tip" of the button. It's on the side. After I hit the drop lever the red dot is gone but the tip is still exposed. When I dry fire the gun the entire thing is gone, tip and all. My question now is, does the M1014 have a red tip like the manual says or a red dot? If it has the red tip then Benelli changed it to a red dot on the side that isn't visible when perhaps it should be.

    Not a question

I have yet to see that video but I'm looking forward to it. How did the M4 perform?

    Not a question

Mossberg makes a great gun! I went to the gunshop to buy a 590A1 when I saw my M4. I still want the 590.

    Dry fire M4?

    You know, full auto.
  19. I think you're misunderstanding the entire point. Nobody is complaining about the functioning of the gun, but rather the wording in the manual. You might say, what's the big deal, but it could potentially be a big deal. Basic gun school? Maybe not everybody is as educated on guns as you are so they refer to the manual where they can be misled by the previously posted quote. You made your point that you understand the functioning of the gun and that's terrific. But I for one still think the manual is misleading whether I'm a noob or a gun expert. Mainly because of my opinion of the difference between a "cocked gun that's ready to fire" and an "uncocked gun".
  20. I was referring to Hookster's mini-me when I was talking about freaks. But I'm really interested in the weight of that beast and your bicep measurements.
  21. How much does that thing weigh? With the 20 shells on it. 21 if you ghost load it. (I had to use my fingers to count that up!)
  22. I've always thought that cocked is ready to fire and uncocked is not ready to fire. If what you're saying is what they meant they're leaving a lot of room for debate, which in my opinion, could have been and should have been avoided. Especially considering the subject at hand. "The end of the cartridge drop lever which protrudes from the receiver is marked with a red point. When the red point is visible, the hammer is cocked and the gun is ready to fire; otherwise the hammer is not cocked." ONLY a shell drop.... why does it have a red point on it then? Why do they even discuss the gun being cocked and not cocked? What is your definition of "not cocked" and what does that entail? Should an "uncocked" weapon fire when the trigger is pulled? I don't think there should be any ands, ifs or buts about it. I ask for your opinion because based on what's written in the manual, the facts seem to be left to the reader's opinion. Although it seemed pretty straight forward before this issue was brought up but I for one was wrong. I like your signature by the way, it seems to tell a whole story in only one sentence!
