    Sidearmor rail

Looking through the sights the forward end of the rail (closer to the barrel) appears to twist counter clockwise. When I look over the sights its noticeably not aligned with the barrel. I'll look into it closer today and remove the rail to inspect the gun and rail separately.

    Sidearmor rail

Looking through the ghost rings I noticed my new sidearmor rail is not what it should be. It is actually crooked! Yes, crooked. I tried to adjust it the best I could to straighten it but nope. Took it off and cleaned the receiver and bottom of the rail the best I could and nope. It's crooked. Fortunately for me I'm not mounting any optics and I don't plan to in the near future but I paid pretty good money for this thing and being the perfectionist that I am this is unacceptable. I just noticed this and I haven't notified sidearmor yet. Just wondering if any other members here with sidearmor rail had the same luck...
  3. NUMBA 1: Are you serious? NUMBA 2: Seriously? NUMBA 3: What? Really?? NUMBA 4: OMG hahahah NUMBA 5: What?
  4. Yeah, isn't that lame? Chop a few inches off a barrel and it's a big freakin deal. Whooop di dooooo!
  5. Best thing to do is to try it several times. Not just once but a lot. You might get the feel of it. Practice practice practice. Using the magazine method could get you killed. Let's say you have 7 in the tube and 1 in the chamber. Now you have to eject that first shell and load the next shell only to eject that one too. All this to have room in your magazine for that slug. Now you have to move that slug to the chamber. All this could take a while. Don't forget to boost up your margin for error. Okay so there's a shootout and you've been firing rounds and re-loading when you get the chance. You want to switch to a slug and in the heat of battle you don't know how many rounds are in the tube. Are you gonna eject an extra round just to be safe? Are you gonna debate this in your head when you shouldn't be? I can swap buck for slug in the manner described above while walking, kneeling, standing. Never tried running. But practice was a HUGE part of this. I suggest eliminating the multiple processes that could be involved at any given time with the magazine method and keep it simple with 1 reflex style shell swap that's fast and consistent no matter what the circumstances are. It's always the same and requires almost no thought after the initial decision has been made. I say almost no thought assuming the shooter has been practicing.
  6. I've been practicing this. I have a six shell holder on my receiver, I keep a few slugs towards the front of the gun. It's pretty much exactly what the Benelli manual says, I find it pretty easy to do and very effective. 1. Grab a slug from the holder with the thumb and forefinger of the right hand. 2. While holding the slug, pull back the bolt handle with your pinky of your right hand so the palm of your hand is facing upward. 3. After the original shell ejects pop the slug in just before releasing the handle. I've tried different ways and this is what I've settled on. I don't think it's a good idea to mess with the magazine when trying to change your load, there's too many variables at play. Keep it simple and repeat it until it becomes a reflex. I can swap out a buckshot with a slug in 2 seconds. 2 seconds might sound pretty fast but it's actually not.
  7. Skeeter, where did you get those ammo boxes?
  8. Wow. The biggest risk I took with my M4 is not telling the wife how much it REALLY was. I don't understand how somebody could go "cheap" over a few bucks for the correct tools when they went not cheap when they bought the gun.
  9. Yes. This sight comes equipped with a search feature. You need no tools to open it, and can be easily accessed with a click of a mouse. Here, let me do it for you. You owe me $3.00. I accept paypal or a money order. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/search.php?searchid=1416345 If these search results don't do it for you pm me and I'll link you to more search results for only $2.00 more!
  10. http://shop.carriercomp.com/category.sc?categoryId=4 There's a high quality tube that comes with a wolf spring. You'll have to order a follower seperately if you want one made in usa. I have a specter sling that I like. If by 944R you meant to say 922r then no, a sling doesn't count. But the follower and mag tube count.
  11. Why not shoot them all?? That's usually what I do when I have some 'extra' ammo laying around the house. It comes in handy when those 'extra' empty milk jugs start piling up and annoying the wife.
  12. Ohhh, I was about to bid. Nevermind then.
  13. Is there a reason you're using 3 1/2" shells rather than 3" or even 2 3/4" shells?
  14. That shouldn't be a problem!
  15. I don't see what the big deal is. All of us star quarterbacks do it.
  16. If Favre were a Benelli fan then we might have something here. He's a great quarterback. Mind your own business.
  17. If money is an issue, keep in mind you're probably gonna want to alter your gun at least a little. Aside from the relatively high price of the M4, the aftermarket parts are also pretty expensive. If price isn't an issue you can't go wrong with an M4. Maybe go to the gun shop and get some hands on and see what feels better.
  18. Couldn't take pics yet, wife came home right when I got done. If she sees me taking pics of the M4 she'll know I did something to it again....
  19. Dug this thread up from page 5 to live another day!! Finally received my Mod 2 rail/shell holder today. Very nice. What a pleasure it was to remove that OEM rail. It's built very solid and does what it's told..... so far.
  20. Very nice. I called Surefire and explained my problem, they told me to send it in and they'll fix it or replace it. So I sent it in and I had it back 2 weeks later. Well, I didn't have it back, they replaced it with a brand new one. The only down side is I had to pay for shipping to send it to them, but since they sent me a new one I got a new pair of batteries and extra parts for free.
  21. EXACTLY!!! He's a war hero and nobody should mess with him! And if you do, don't forget one thing..... a good supply of body bags.
  22. I'm all for the weekend warrior thing but only if one request is met. I request that a thread be left behind when a thread is deleted. And in this replacement thread will be a picture of Chuck Norris.
  23. Is there a chance I could pre-order one of these babies?
  24. ....or save us the elbow work and give us a link.
