A light is a must. Most break-ins happen at night. Zombies never come out in the day. If you're gonna shoot, you better know what you're shooting. Also, I'd consider a collapsible stock. It's a must IMO. I have a laser on mine and I like it a lot.

Was wondering, I have a sling that I never use. It's stashed in my gun bag somewhere. My question is, will attaching the sling to the C-stock put unwanted wear and tear on the stock or recoil tube? There's a slight wobble in the stock in the first place, will putting that extra stress on the stock make the wobble worse in any way? Should I get a sling mount to install just in front of the grip? Will attaching this sling mount cause a problem when I want to collapse the stock all the way since the grip will be pushed back maybe an 1/8th inch? What's a good recipe for chicken and dumplings? Thanks!

Just curious as to why you're on the market for a sight. I opted not to get a fancy sight for mine, I simply replaced the standard sights with meprolight night sights, I've always been a believer in simpler is better. Are you gonna be mounting a light on your M4? If so, do you have a plan to mount it? I would suggest replacing your magazine tube with a full length tube so you can avoid the shell holder all together. 7+1+1 rounds is more than enough for home defense. If there's a graveyard near your house and you plan on defending your house from hordes of zombies then you should go with the full mag tube and a 6 shot holder. If you want a holder to hold some slugs you should look into the new rail sidearmor has out, you can get a nice shell holder for it and it gives you many options including mounting your light. My M4 has a full length titanium mag tube, and a surefire x400 light/laser combo, when it's fully loaded it's pretty heavy, not unmanageable but it's up there. I'd hate to see what a full 6 or 8 round shell holder would do to it since I'd be carrying around 15-17 rounds on board! with a SLIM chance that I'd need more than 1 or 2 of them to do the job!

I went with an x400. I like the light/laser combo. And the light is BRIGHT. Not as bright as some of those super lights out there but it's bright enough for the job.

Not even close. The recoil wants to pull the muzzle up and it's a struggle to keep it in one direction. Which is why the 3 round burst came into play, it saves ammo and it makes the shooter more accurate. But a lot of this also depends on the gun you're shooting and your experience.

I understand where he's coming from too. But the way I see it is, if you shoot an intruder in the leg and he's armed, now he's going into self defense mode and if he wasn't intending on shooting you he might be intending on it now that he's wounded and "cornered". I say cornered since he can't get up and leave. He doesn't know your intentions so he very well may try and shoot you to defend himself. If you shoot for the chest you will probably kill him. He won't be able to shoot back at you, your odds of hitting your target go up, and in the end you and your family are safe. Now, I said he might not have been intending to shoot you in the first place, you being the owner of this home and defender of your family, don't have the luxury of gambling with the lives of your family. I say, take the easier sure shot that will stop the intruder in his tracks and raise the safety factor for you and your family. Gun laws are an after thought for me. But that's just me. In a situation like this I will NEVER put the government before my family. I'll use common sense and do what's right. If it means jail time for me because I killed a home invader and potentially saved my life and the lives of my family, so be it. There are just too many risks in shoot for the legs or shoot to wound tactics.

So, in the spur of the moment when you have to make a lightning quick decision, are you gonna pull your weapon, then load it with either lethal or non lethal and then shoot? That seems like a lot to do in a short amount of time. Obviously decisions will have to be made. If somebody is seen leaving my house, by all means, leave. I won't shoot somebody in the back when they're on their way out whether they have my TV, stereo, or whatever. I'm not gonna shoot somebody that's frozen by the sight of the barrel of my shotgun like a deer in the headlights. I WILL however shoot somebody that's charging at me whether his gun is drawn or still holstered and I will shoot to stop him as soon as possible, he might die during this process. Shooting my weapon at somebody is a last line of defense. If it comes down to it, my intentions are to stop an attacker, if he dies in the process that's too bad. He shouldn't have broken into my house. The jury can decide my innocence or guilt or whether it was justified. What is important to me and what is left for me to decide is whether or not my family and I will be alive tomorrow. If the threat is there, I'll do what I must.

Shoot your gun a lot and try to decide what you want to change/add from your experience with your gun. A lot of people have different sights on their guns because they make them happy or it's what they want for their own applications. It depends on what else you want to do to your gun and what you intend on primarily using your gun for.

Most of the gun laws are really lame. I do my best to follow these laws but I refuse to put my family at risk because of some law making a$$ holes that have no clue about what they're doing or why they're doing it. If an intruder breaks into my house where my wife and 2 small boys are sleeping the last thing on my mind is gonna be the laws my government is trying to force upon me. Sure, it'll really suck when I'm in court trying to defend myself again after defending myself and family from an intruder and a jerk lawyer trying to convince a jury that the intruder was right and I was wrong. But when/if there's an intruder in my house, I hope he's not counting on my awareness of gun laws because I'll shoot to kill. I'll react how I react and I guess I'll have to face the consequences afterwards. Before I recently moved, a town near mine banned handguns all together. But the criminals with unregistered handguns didn't seem to mind these laws because they carried their handguns anyway. They broke into houses with their guns knowing that the home owners probably were unarmed. Thanks to our government. They say call the police. But what I always say is, "when seconds count, the police are just minutes away".

Shotgun without a doubt. Why? Cause I love my shotgun.

Why not start at $75 on Ebay? I'm sure you'll sell it.
-
Just out of curiousity, why would somebody want to remove the sling plate?

I paid $1299 for mine without the rebate due to a mistake at my local gun shop. Of course this was before Benelli was offering their rebate. I know a couple other M4 owners and they were all jealous and they wanted to be my friend. That's a good price, if you can do it you should. People will want to be your friend.

I suspect Botach won't be getting any more. If that's the case the value will probably eventually climb back up to what it was at up to $700. If they do get more, I would be surprised if they didn't jack their price up at least a little to around $400, seeing as they sold out in literally an hour. If they originally sold them for $400, they would have sold out anyway. I love the C stock. In the fully collapsed position I can easily store it on top of my tall dresser and it doesn't hang over the edge, I can store it easily in the closet or in my truck. Fully extended it's LOP is exactly the same as the fixed pistol grip stock which is perfect for shouldering the weapon outside. With the C stock collapsed half way the LOP is exactly what I want for maneuvering in close quarters such as in the house through hallways and rooms. One problem I have however with the stock collapsed half way is the awkwardness of aiming through the sights. It's uncomfortable. This was easily fixed though with the Surefire X400 light/laser combo. I have the laser sighted in to 30 feet. Now I can shoulder the M4, keep both eyes scanning and aim with a red dot without having to cock my head down and to the side to look through the sights. I'm sure the urbino stock is great but with the C stock you have the best of everything in one stock. Not to mention, the M4 looks AWSOME with the C stock, which to me is an added bonus.

why BENELLI makes the ABSOLUTE BEST TACTICAL/HD shotguns in the world!!

Yes, but it's harder to find matching color parts. If you were to upgrade the standard pistol grip stock you can't get a desert camo collapsible stock. If you were to add a rail system you won't be getting a desert camo rail system for it. You can get a tan full length mag tube but not a desert camo (I could be wrong on this one). Plus, I'm sure you don't live in the desert so having desert camo will probably be of no use to you. We're at war in the desert so the 11717 is more of a novelty item that'll lose popularity and you'd probably regret buying it because of the difficult time you'll have with attachments. PLUS, you'll pay more for it. Get the 11707, don't forget, black makes you look thinner. -

The 11717 is the desert camo version. I wouldn't get it, but that's just me. -

You might be able to save a few bucks by starting with a 11707 that already has the notched recoil tube, instead of getting a 1014. And taking off the neutered extension and just using the oem steel mag tube. -
I have an X400 and I love it. I was considering the M80 but decided against it because I wanted the use of the entire foregrip rather than letting the light take up most of it causing an uncomfortable situation. So I went with this... http://www.botachtactical.com/kz3shra.html The rail is long enough so the X400 won't be overhanging on either side. I mounted it to the mag tube with the light on the bottom. I went with the bottom because I don't like the light lighting up the sights. Placed underneath, the light doesn't light the sights. Plus, like you, I have to have things balanced, I can't stand when things are off centered and not symmetrical. I can flick my finger forward while my hand is in it's natural position and turn the light/laser on or off with the flick of a switch or I can press for a momentary light. The biggest problem I have with it is that I need a tool to take the gun apart. I might however change my setup after seeing that new side armor rail system though..

I think it's a pretty decent price.
