  1. So you have a Brugger & Thomet rail? Can you confirm whether or not the barrel fits flush?
  2. I wouldn't worry about the light clamp, they simply don't clamp that tight. And I don't think that is the issue anyway. OP needs to check if the barrel ring is flush with the receiver. Not the ring around the mag tube, but the one back by the chamber. Early M1014s did not have this ring, and it was added for the sole purpose of visually checking to see if the barrel is fully seated in the receiver. We have one well-known vendor who supplies forends that are a little long and the barrel will not fully seat. Upon firing the barrel (and mag tube ring) pushes back into receiver. If the barrel is not fully seated I am guessing that most of the stress is on the mag tube ring. Perhaps there is enough force to shear it off. As stated OP needs to check if the barrel is seated, and that goes for the rest of us as well.
  3. We've had plenty of problems from aftermarket forends, but nothing like this! Like H&K asked, do you have any pictures? Very curious if the forend allows the barrel to fully seat in the receiver.
  4. This^. I've never had a mag tube back out. And threadlocker prevents easy disassembly. FYI, threadlocker never 'dries' it cures thru an anaerobic process.

    New Ethos FTF/FTE

I'd say it is rare. The consensus is that a new gun must be cleaned before use, and that a break-in period may be required. I am guessing that since it ran fine on Day 1 but not Day 2 that the fouling etc from Day 1 is what messed up Day 2.
  6. Looks like aftermarket junk may have had an effect on the value of factory stocks.
  7. Gee whiz, when did the market on collapsible stocks collapse?
  8. You'll need to try both to see what you like. Shooting from the hip is tough with the PG stock. The field stock can be one-handed very well by utilizing one's forearm.
  9. The pistol grip stocks are in very low demand because virtually all of them came with them. I never paid more than $50.
  10. Great deal, good luck with the sale. I'd get it myself but don't have room/need.
  11. M4 has dead-nuts reliable gas operation, seamless one piece mag tube, lots of options for stocks etc.
  12. The M4 gas system does not suffer from weight issues like the inertia guns. One piece mag tubes are available for the M4. M2 weighs much less and seem to have more options for barrel length. Lots of support for the M2 from the run-n-gun crowd.
  13. It is not needed. The O-ring keeps the pin in place while the bolt assembly is out of the gun; it is not necessary when assembled. Most of the O-rings are frayed and will last a long long time.

    What Shells for SBE

I'm no expert, but I don't think the Super Black Eagle requires any special shells. Just stay away from the cheap Winchester stuff.
  15. On Gunjoker Free shipping, case and mag extension. This market has really turned since '13.
  16. Can anyone pull a string on the gas piston/housing and see if they match the off center ports?

    M4 operation

Welcome to the forum. The operation of the M4 can be unique for those who are unfamiliar, it certainly was for me! Depressing the trigger operates the shell release.
  18. These are the best wrenches available. Keep one, and give one to a friend
  19. OP, you need to do a U/V light inspection.
  20. I am sorry you are having problems. I am not familiar with M3s. However this post indicates that it should screw off: "yep i've called benelli this is what they told me... Go see a gunsmith that has worked on a benelli before. told her we have gunsmiths in our area but since most of the benelli's in my area are extension tubes, nobody has tried removing the tube from the reciever. she told me it's locktited. so I ask her if the plastic thing wont' be damaged by the heat gun." http://forums.benelliusa.com/showthread.php/19256-Benelli-m3-mag-tube-problem
  21. What he said^ You can add either a U.S. Handguard or a U.S. Trigger Part. Surefire M80 Railed Forend, or simply a Freedom Fighter Tactical Reproduction Handguard. Be mindful that the FFT handguard may have to be fitted for the barrel to fully seat. Geissele Hammer is recommended, also FFT has trigger parts available.
  22. Read This Thread Kip is the best handle by far. Until then, it looks like either the GGG or FFT titanium. The FFT may have to be machined to work correctly. I think the GGG is a good unit and have no problems with mine, however some do not like the 'spinner' handle.
  23. The mag spring has a lot to do with cycling on an M4. But it has no bearing on ejection. I think the low recoil shells are the suspect.
