One other thing, which may seem to be a small thing to some people, but the way your tube is shipped to you is first class also. It doesn't come loose rattling around like something shipped in an Amazon box. LOL. I'll let you be pleasantly surprised.?

I'd say that's the right one for a parkerized gun.

Mine is an NP3 H20, not the new cerakote version. The muted tube is a little darker, not as shiny, but in different lighting contrasts, it looks almost the same color as the rest of the gun. More different in other lighting. But that's ok because the slight contrast looks cool. The one I had on my gun was a FFT NP3 7 rounder because at the time, FFT was the only source for NP3 plated tubes. I replaced it with the carriercomp which I had been lusting after for several years. I actually dig the slight contrast of the new mag tube with the silver of the gun. The CC tube is a higher quality piece IMO. I'm glad that I finally did it and got the pinnacle of after market tubes.

Do you mean that the spring popped the last round into the receiver but not far enough back so the bolt carrier could engage it and activate the elevator? Or was the shell still partially stuck in the tube?

Be patient.....I ordered mine on July 1st. I got the call for payment on Sep. 13th. They sent shipping notification last Sunday. I got my tube this past Thursday. Keep in mind that they got delayed a little bit because the hurricane knocked out their power for a week. The CC Ti tube is well worth the wait. They are superbly machined and finished. I particularly like the fact that they keep the threaded portions in the white. I had a FFT NP3 7 round tube on the gun for years. I finally decided to get the CC Ti tube in muted finish.

The guy kinda disappeared off the radar without explanation almost two years ago. He didn't make public what was going on with him. Not that I know of anyway.

Reading this again...maybe the Mod 1 is what incorporated the additions/improvements. Seeing that his post was in 2016 and you bought your mount 2 years later, I would think that yours originally came with both size clamps.....

I did some digging and it appears that the very first Mod 1 light mount did not come with both clamps, but an updated version of the Mod 1 that came out a couple years later had both size clamp rings.

I think that this is the most concise explanation (that I have seen) of what is required to stay in compliance for the M4 and other Benellis. Are you in California by chance? I only ask because some of the wording that you used in your post is strikingly similar to the wording that is used in parts of the California AW laws as regards SA CF rifles.. 922R is a whole other ball of wax not to be confused with any Ca. AW laws. Below is a list of the import parts restricted by 922r as it applies to the Benelli M1/M2/M4 shotguns once you increase magazine capacity past the "sporting use" limit of 5 rounds. You are allowed a maximum of (10) of these parts to remain in compliance with 922r import restrictions. The factory M2 has only (12) of these parts, the factory M4 with fixed pistol grip stock has (13), and the factory M4 with the collapsible/separate butt stock & pistol grip has (14). BATFE has made it clear that the collapsible-capable stock, even if fixed as on the factory Limited Edition 1 of 2500 Benelli M1014, constitutes (2) separate 922r parts: a butt stock AND a pistol grip. Conversely, the fixed M1/M2/M4 pistol grip stock constitutes only one of these parts just as the NON-pistol grip M1/M2/M4 butt stock does. When you get the number of imported parts on this list down to (10), you are in compliance with 922r. 1 Receiver 2 Barrel 3 Bolt 4 Bolt Carrier 5 Gas Piston 6 Trigger Housing 7 Trigger 8 Hammer 9 Disconnector 10 Butt stocks 11 Forearm 12 Magazine body 13 Followers 14 Pistol grip

The driver for 922R is the 7 round magazine tube on the M4. When that is installed, if US made, you must replace an additional 2-3 Italian made parts with US made parts. 2 more parts if your gun has the field stock or solid pistol grip stock, 3 more if you install the OEM the collapsable PG stock even if you don't increase mag capacity. IOW, replacing the Italian made pistol grip stock with the OEM Italian made field stock has done nothing as far as compliance goes. It is still a foreign made part. Pistol grip stock or not, it has no bearing on compliance with 922R, unless it is a US made stock.

The Benelli M4 has an aluminum receiver. I cannot get any more technical with it than that. like what type etc. because I don't know. It is not steel, it is aluminum.?

I think that the M4 model with a 3 position collapsable stock is the model that "has it all." With the M1014 or "military model" you don't have the option to change to any choke you wish, or collapse the stock. Thereby you've lost flexibility. It's a modified choke which may not allow the best accuracy when shooting slugs. Benelli's website states that it is not "safe" to shoot slugs with any choke tighter than an IC. I know, I know,....lots of people do it but Benelli is obviously against it. https://www.benelliusa.com/support/faq

I wasn't assuming anything, just was advising not to jump on the gun before you tried some better ammo, a lot of people do.?

Only info that I can offer is what I have read- that it is not uncommon to have issues with Fiocchi ammo in these guns. I would just stay away from it. Buy some good quality US made full power ammo, (if you can find any) run about a hundred rounds of it, before you blame the gun.

As you say lighter and, with the slim profile, to use a made up word; unbulkiness of them is very hard to compete against. Concerning modifications with anything, I'm a person who always weighs aesthetic qualities with functionality. If something works well to my needs but looks like hell, I'll usually ditch the idea completely.
