  1. That might be my new favorite quote. Mike
  2. After seeing this, I am thinking about selling mine http://www.gunbroker.com/item/609283484 Mike
  3. What? I ran through a 3-gun stage that had maybe 40 rounds and I got a blister on my hand when I flipped it upside down to load twins. I now use a fingerless leather glove on my left hand when I run the shottie in competition. If it ain't gettin' hot with 200, you are reloading really slow Mike
  4. I also received my parts, and I am very satisfied. Thanks netsecsys. Mike
  5. Another common problem with extensions is the follower hanging up on the "joint" between the original mag tube and the extension. Sometimes a different follower can alleviate the issue. Something else to look at. Mike
  6. I just usually clean all the factory grease off and relubricate before shooting. I only Loctite stuff that comes loose on me. Mike
  7. Does the military issue M4 have a bayonet lug? Mike
  8. I am running a T-1 on my M4 using the new Midwest Industries low profile mount that allows you to co-witness the stock sights. I have liked the mount so far. I had a thread on the mount here: Midwest Industries Aimpoint T1-T2 Mount for M4 Mike
  9. Nice. I have an M4 and an Ethos. Both are great shotguns. I am looking to pick up an M2 to trick out for 3-gun. Mike
  10. If you can afford the M2, I'd go that way. That is a shotgun that you can grow with and is very versatile. You can even use it in 3-gun if you decide to get into that sport later. Mike
  11. SD, please give us your thoughts on this product when you get it. Mike
  12. I gave my opinion on this setup in this thread: Briley MFG Match Trigger for Benelli Automatics You will have to look through the entire thread as my review is scattered throughout several posts. Mike
  13. Yes, I would not hesitate to use this trigger in a self-defense shotgun. Heck, my M4 (with this trigger) plays that role at my house. Mike
  14. I would worry about muzzle blast damaging the light. I have a magazine tube that extends past the muzzle and it gets lead splatter on it from shooting slugs and carbon residue from all rounds. The blast right there has to be terrible. It would take a tough light to survive there. Mike
  15. Some folks are using the IMPACT WEAPONS COMPONENTS - AR-15/M16 MOUNT-N-SLOT SLING ATTACHMENT to add a sling attachment to the slot in the buttstock. Mike
  16. Welcome back. The M4 is a great platform. You will enjoy it. Waiting for parts is not isolated to M4 parts. If you are a firearms enthusiast, you will have things on backorder constantly. I have had backorders from Brownell's take over a year before I finally got my parts. It's just the nature of the firearms industry today. Which is good because it means more enthusiasts are discovering how fun the shooting sports can be. Mike
  17. I should re-phrase. Briley installed their trigger parts into my Benelli trigger group and put the stock trigger, hammer, and sear in a baggie and shipped it all back to me. They put their own parts in, which are not made by Benelli. Mike
  18. I got my stock Benelli trigger group back when Briley installed my trigger. Mike
  19. I have an older Side Armor side saddle with a 6-shell holder. I don't know what Mod 3 means. Mike
  20. Yes, I think a single cut with a razor blade on the bottom of the rear "cup" of the bikini cover would solve the issue. Mike
  21. Many hundreds, if not thousands. It had been rattling for a while. I could tell because it had worn the finish off the top of the receiver at all the high points. Mike
  22. I rattled the rear sight loose on mine, so I don't think there was any Loctite on those screws. My magazine tube definitely had Loctite on it though. Luckily the screws on the rear sight are a special design that won't come out all the way on their own. If they had, they would have jammed up the internals nicely. I applied Loctite to the rear sight screws when I tightened them back up. Mike
  23. The Briley trigger is a definite improvement. No doubt about it. Trigger pull was lightened by 18% (6.7 to 5.5 pounds), but that does not tell the whole story. The break is much more crisp. There is practically no creep (very short trigger travel to break compared to stock), and the reset is shorter. Since having the Briley trigger installed, I have dry fire practiced with the shotgun quite a bit, ran about 50 rounds through it practicing, and have used it in a competition (another 50 rounds approximately). I have noticed that it is easier to anticipate when the trigger will break, meaning I can control the precise moment when it will. This has noticeably improved my ability to move from target to target quickly. Overall I am impressed with it and would do it again. The only cons I can think of are the price (but it is still comparable to the FFT option), and a still relatively heavy 5.5 pound trigger pull. Ideally, I would have liked to see the trigger pull under 4 pounds, but that is just my preference. Hope that helps. Mike
