usmarine
Neil Young's new song "Let's Impeach the President." - I might give some credit to the IDIOT if he was an American citizen. Like LYNYRD SKYNYRD said: "Well I heard mister Young sing about her Well, I heard ole Neil put her down Well, I hope Neil Young will remember A Southern man don't need him around anyhow." Neil Young - IDIOT Neil Young - IDIOT

tucker301
This country became great due to changes brought forth by people who voiced their displeasure with the status quo. Dissenting voices should always be heard. It keeps a system honest and it keeps it growing. Although, I do not fully agree with Mr. Young, I must respect his right to say what's on his mind. I could say a ton of bad things about his country, Canada, that is if I gave a rip about it one way or the other.
Paolo
Neil Young has every right to say what he feels, it doesn't mean you have to agree or follow what he says. That goes for anyone's opinion(s). Remember what makes our countries so great...FREEDOM OF SPEECH. And just a little note ... Lynyrd Skynyrd and Neil Young were actually friends a part from a small arguement they had which led to those lyrics. "I might give some credit to the IDIOT if he was an American citizen." by USMARINE Why is it only a US citizen can make a comment about Pres. Bush??? That's a pretty ignorant statment. You don't have to live in a country to make a comment about a person. In Neil's case he lives in the US a lot more than you think due to his line of work. "Don't try to force US to change to your liberal and socialist ways." by GW That's right leave it to the US to force the changes upon others. The last Canadian PM was an idiot and f'd up a lot of things....that's for sure! I have no issue with anyone making a comment about what's on their mind as long as it's not something they pulled out of their ***. In my opinion, the last Canadian PM and Pres. Bush are\were both bad leaders. Thankfully the new Canadian PM looks to be a much better leader and making changes for the good. I just know that the next US Pres. has a lot a repairing to do and hope whoever it is, does a much better job than Pres. Bush. There's nothing worse to have a country devided amongst itself because of their President. God bless the soldiers....I hope they come home soon! Cleric
This is quite hot. All I will say is that to ensure the continuation of our freedoms, we need to exercise them from time to time.
usmarine
I'm not saying that Neil Young CAN'T say what he's saying. ****, I helped protect that right (at least for US citizens.) I'm just saying he's an IDIOT.
Paolo
You have every right to your opinion, I can respect that...its just the way you worded it "I might give some credit to the IDIOT if HE WAS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN." It was the last part that I had an issue with, I dont think it should matter where you are from. No big deal....agree to disagree. Anyway ... lets keep this forum to Benelli topics...something we can all agree to love! Paul

tucker301
Neil Young is a musician, formerly of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Cleric
Music was much better when he was with the other fellows also. His stuff now sounds like he is a bit past the prime of his musical career. Perhaps that's why he's resorting to blatantly politically-fueled lyrics to sell albums. Regardless of what you feel, the title of the song "Let's Impeach the President" is just a bit more obvious that I care for. At least try to disguise your political message in a carefully constructed metaphor. Sheesh... some people.

Paolo
These artists are not lecturing on how YOU should think...they are simply writting what THEY as an artist feel. Freedom of speech remember? This has nothing to do with being "Non-American" ... artists sell world wide, it's not like Neil Young is selling only to US citizens. Paul
Cleric
BUT... he is writing songs specific to ONLY a US audience (what other country would be interested in impeaching its current president for issues surrounding a drawn-out war?). He is directing his message specifically to US citizens. Clearly, it's effective. He's stirred enough interest in the US that a bunch of gun-heads are debating the validity of his points on a forum designated for Italian-made firearms. Toss in a few Canadians to keep the conversation lively and I would say that Young could say "Mission Accomplished."
usmarine
Yet we NOT debating the validity of his song.....just if he's an idiot or not. No one has talked about whether the President was right or not. Which his song is apparently about. So did he really "Accomplish his Mission"? Better arrangements and polyphonic vocal. Now, he sucks regardless of his lyrics. Concerning the particular song, I think it p… off some people because it’s a shame to be dipped in the s… by a foreigner, especially when you know he is right. jmikesteen
I think y'all got too much time on your hands, who gives a crap what Neil Young says about anything. His faucet is turned on and off by my money just like the rest, don't like it , don't buy it. It's called the on off switch.
