  1. I spoke with StrangerDanger about some of the differing hues that seem to pop up on receivers. Thought I would share my recent acquired m-1014 with a “blue” receiver. He stated he had never seen this. While it’s an oddity, I love it . Before someone asks, no, it’s not the lighting or flash.

  2. Well the bolt does need to be in before attaching the barrel... I generally don't have it cocked when sliding the barrel in though.

  3. Like others I wouldn't be too concerned... there will eventually be a fair amount of wear in that area and other parts. I don't see this being a huge issue as that's where the bolt carrier will be operating. StrangerDanger would probably know best with his knowledge of many m4s... I just have two at this point Otherwise maybe just check the pins in the bolt carrier and manually push it against the rear to see if it slides easily. Check to make sure the "tail" is seated against spring piston and before you put in the bolt handle. But please to be careful with fingers as things can pinch and the receiver extension spring can be quite stiff.

  4. Check the bottom corner of the barrel extension for a burr or rough machining. The good news is your receiver will get more wear marks that correspond with the barrel extension as you shoot it so the scratch won't stand out as being abnormal or accidental in nature. Eventually it will simply blend in with the honest wear and tear.

  5. The manufacturer or brand is ProMag....and I just remembered where it is so it might take me a minute to get it out of my storage unit. I'll get in touch with you first once I install it.

  8. Got another one of these builds finally coming back from Wright Armory. Some bad, they seriously increased their pricing without any forewarning. This current M4 racked up 2200 dollars in costs with them for the plating. It used to be around 1150. They really stick it to you on the chemical stripping fees. I’m going to speak to the owner about the drastic increase to see what the deal is. It’s hard to give customers quotes when the pricing varies so much. This H2O will have a Trijicon SRO in place along with a set of actual Trijicon iron sights done up by ToolTech. The sight housing was done in NP3 already. Aftermarket will be a full build with a Carriercomp magazine tube, FFT fire control, elevator, spring kit, DMW oversized safety, TTI stainless bolt release, A&S Engineering frame, GG&G oversized bolt release, IWC light and sling mounts, Surefire M600DF weapon light, Scalarworks Sync top rail, stippled FFT forearm, Limbsaver 10403, BlueForceGear sling.

  10. The scalarworks mounts seems to be the go to and I they're only $100 or $150.
